Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has landed a newgig with Japan’s biggest steelmaker, Nippon Steel Corp.
In a statement, Nippon Steel shared, “We look forward to working alongside Pompeo to further emphasize the ways in which Nippon Steel’s acquisition of U.S. Steel bolsters the country’s economic and national security.”
Reuters reported Pompeo will be hired as an adviser for Nippon Steel.
Currently, Nippon Steal has received all regulatory approvals outside of the United States for their proposed $14.9 billion merger with U.S. Steel,but currently, they are facing regulatory trouble from within the United States, which is essentially the reason why Pompeo was hired.

Japan’s biggest steelmaker, Nippon Steel Corp., has hired former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to help with its effort to acquire U.S. Steel (X.N), opens new tab, the Japanese company said on Saturday.
“We look forward to working alongside him to further emphasize the ways in which Nippon Steel’s acquisition of U.S. Steel bolsters the country’s economic and national security,” Nippon Steel said in a statement to Reuters.
Japan’s Kyodo news agency and Bloomberg, which first reported the appointment, said Pompeo had been hired as an adviser. Nippon Steel said in its statement that Pompeo had not been given a specific job title within the company.
The world’s No. 4 steelmaker added that Pompeo, who served as secretary of state during Donald Trump’s presidency, was a well-respected figure among both Democrats and Republicans.
In recent years, Pompeo has lost support from many conservatives after it was reported that when he was the director of the CIA, he allegedly called for WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange to be murdered.
Tucker Carlson, while on Joe Rogan earlier this year, touched on the subject and shared, “Mike Pompeo was the secretary of state, but before then, he was the director of the CIA. And in that position, he plotted the murder of Julian Assange. So he is a criminal as far as I’m concerned.”

Last Saturday, in Butler, Pennsylvania, President Trump was shot in the ear and narrowly saved from a fatal head wound from an assassin’s bullet. Retired firefighter Corey Comperatore was fatally struck by a bullet, and two other pro-Trump rally-goers were seriously injured.
Over the last week, much of the federal narrative has broken down trying to explain the events. As the sniper’s body was recovered on the roof of the American Glass Research company’s warehouse in Butler, Pennsylvania, within a few days it emerged that snipers were in the second floor overlooking the sniper’s body in an adjoining building.
One often-repeated part of the official story is that a Butler County Sheriff’s Deputy climbed on top of the roof moments prior to the shooting to confront alleged shooter Thomas Crooks, and Crooks responded by pointing a weapon at the Deputy, who then fell off of an eight-foot ladder
Later reports claim that the deputy hurt his ankle and is now walking with a medical boot. Here’s the New York Post repeating that story nationally.

Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe confirmed to KDKA-TV that an armed municipal officer with Butler Township encountered shooter Thomas Crooks before he fired shots from a rooftop building outside the perimeter of former President Trump’s rally.
The sheriff said he was not made aware of any potential threats, but confirmed an officer encountered the shooter on the roof, and didn’t fire his weapon.
“All I know is the officer had both hands on the roof to get up on the roof, never made it because the shooter had turned towards the officer, and rightfully and smartly, the officer let go,” Sheriff Slupe said.
Sheriff Slupe says before the shooting, the officer and others were previously alerted to a suspicious person and began searching for him right away.
Sheriff Slupe said this officer was hoisted by another officer to the roof of a building where the shooter had taken a position.
The shooter, Crooks, focused his rifle on the officer who let go and fell off the roof. Then, the 20-year-old began firing into the crowd.
Witnesses on the ground who saw the rooftop sniper say that local police did not confront the sniper moments before the shooting, and no one saw any confrontation by Crooks before shots rang out.
Greg Smith, American Patriot
Key witness Greg Smith exclusively told the Gateway Pundit:
“I saw him [the sniper] right before he shots happened, and I didn’t see him turn around and confront anyone. I never saw that and it didn’t happen. We asked all the people around us and in our group and we didn’t see that. I heard the story about the officer falling and hurting his foot, no one saw that. I’ve heard the stories, but I have no idea what they’re talking about.”
Explosively, he also relates that the snipers in the 2nd floor section of the AGR building were watching the rooftop shooter as the shots rang out – and did nothing!
“I was looking all around to get law enforcement’s attention before the shots, and I could tell it was coming, because as I was standing there for several minutes I kept thinking ‘why is Trump still talking?’ You expect someone to be on the radio or whatever the protocol is, to get Trump off the stage. I knew this isn’t good. I expected the shots to start, and then they did. It was mass chaos. I was looking at the guys on the second story, my eyes were jumping three or four different places, I could see that they saw him and were looking at him and watching what he was doing, but they didn’t do anything.“
Butler County Sheriffs Deputies have said that their body cameras were turned off and there is no footage available from the incident.

Federal authorities have blamed Butler County for failing to secure the AGR Building, claiming it is outside of their “security perimeter.”Butler County has responded by saying they were only asked to take care of traffic control.
Local witnesses say that there was zero police presence on the ground the entire day around the AGR Building north of the Butler Farm Field where the Trump rally was held, and they saw no law enforcement whatsoever.
Key assassin witness Greg Smith tells the Gateway Pundit: “We didn’t see a single law enforcement officer the entire time until they were running around the building looking for the guy. We didn’t see a single bit of law enforcement.”
Witness Smith describes seeing snipers out of the second floor warehouse building as part of the AGR complex. Some online havespeculated that these individuals were Butler County Emergency Services snipers or SWAT responders, but so far that has not been made clear and officials are not providing any answers. But the witnesses described seeing the snipers in the windows of the AGR building.
“They were watching us.I would look up from time to time, and we would always see them there. I gave this same testimony and descriptions about the snipers in the second floor to the State Police Detectives in my driveway,” said Smith.
Smith also says that it is unrealistic to get on top of the AGR building with a five foot ladder.He said that it would require “at least a 12 foot ladder” or better to get on top of the building. Federal officials continue to maintain Crooks used a five foot ladder to get on the roof.
Few details have emerged from the shooting that appear to be reliable and backed by third-parties. Federal authorities have spoken primarily through ‘off the record’ statements to friendly media outlets.
Many of the details andnarratives offered by the anonymous law enforcement quotes to friendly media have proven later to be false. As one example, the ‘five foot ladder’ narrative from federal authorities collapsed this week.
Posted images online show police vehicles underneath the nearby water tower. =But whomever these law enforcement officers were, they were not seen by the collected witnesses== who observed the rooftop sniper and were screaming for law enforcement to help.

The Washington Post (CIA/IC) frames the battle of the selfish Biden family against the goals of an altruistic DNC corporation (Obama/Pelosi). The wounds being suffered by the magnanimous heir apparent Kamala are unfair; at least, that’s the useful presentation for those who control the left-wing of the club.
Joe Biden is essentially, at his core, the purist manifestation of a Democrat.The internecine battle underway was created by the Corporation putting one of their toxic generals in charge of the organization.

The US Secret Service is scrambling to increase security ahead of former President Donald Trump’s first campaign rally since the failed assassination attempt on his life last week, sources familiar with the planning told CNN.
The security around Trump’s future rallies and events is being entirely rethought, including where they should be held – whether indoors or in more secure outdoor locations. Outdoor events for Trump like the one in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was nearly assassinated, will likely be severely limited, sources said, if not entirely done away with.
The ramp up in security reflects several new assessments by law enforcement since Saturday’s shooting, officials familiar with the assessments told CNN, including concern about a possible copycat incident and others who may be inspired to carry out another attack after seeing the previous one narrowly fail.
Multiple people familiar with the planning for this weekend’s rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at an indoor arena said that both Secret Service and local law enforcement have recently increased the number of officers who will work on securing the event.
During a board of commissioners meeting on Thursday, Kent County, Michigan, Undersheriff Bryan Muir said the sheriff’s office was given a “last-minute request” from the Secret Service for 50 to 60 officers from the department to help with security for the rally.
“We assist the Secret Service,” a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told CNN, adding that the Secret Service was leading all security planning for the rally. “We just provide assistance.”

How to reduce video file size without quality loss
Video too big to upload?
Fret not digital soldier.
Google a program called "Handbrake"
It is a free opensource video transcoder
Once you've found a safe and trusted site, download Handbrake.
Open Handbrake
Drag and drop video into the window pane
Choose an output folder at the bottom of the screen with the "Browse" button
Hit start encode at the top of the screen (it looks like a play button)
This will typically be enough to get the job done
But if the file is still too big after you have done above you can stat making adjustments.
There is a tab on handbrake called "video"
Under the "video" tab there is a "content quality" slider
The higher the number on this slider, the more the file will be reduced
But the higher the number, the more quality you lose
Anything within 20 to 25 range should be enough for you with almost no quality loss.
But the video that anon wanted to post is a 30 minute behemoth.
This means to get this video to an 8kun friendly size, you'd have to adjust the sllder high into the 40 plus range to get it small enough for 8kun.
If you adjust the slider that high, you'll get a shitty video quality.
So to avoid that, I split the video in three with a slider value of 25 for all three different parts.
To split the video up using Handbrake, you'll have to adjust how much time of the video you would like encode.
In the upper right hand corner you will see a value section titled "Range"
The "Range" is defaulted onto "Chapter."
Click "Chapter" and chane it to "Time"
In this case, I sectioned the start time of the first video at 00:00:00 and then ended at 00:10:41
For the second video I started it at 00:10:41 and set the end time to 00:20:41
For the third video I started at 00:20:41 and set an end time for 00:32:41
All this is something you'll almost NEVER have to do
Unless you want to upload 30 minute videos.
But honestly, you're better off just linking to the external website instead of doing all that bullshit.
In almost all normal cases of short five minute or less videos a drag and drop, followed by choosing the output folder, then hitting the play/start encode button without any further tinkering should be sufficient.
There are other options that Handbrake offers such as changing the frames per second or changing the dimensions to help reduce size.
But that's if you want to get advanced.
Play around and experiment if you want.

United States Discloses Nuclear Warhead Numbers; Restores Nuclear Transparency
The Federation of American Scientists applauds the United States for declassifying the number of nuclear warheads in its military stockpile and the number of retired and dismantled warheads. The decision is consistent with America’s stated commitment to nuclear transparency, and FAS calls on all other nuclear states to follow this important precedent.
The information published on the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) web site today shows that the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile as of September 2023 included 3,748 nuclear warheads, only 40 warheads off FAS’ estimate of 3,708 warheads.
The information also shows that the United States last year dismantled only 69 retired nuclear warheads, the lowest number since 1994.
FAS has previously requested that the United States release the size of the US nuclear arsenal for FY2023, FY2022, and FY2021, but those requests were denied – potentially in contravention of U.S. law that only allows for classifying information if its release could reasonably result in damage to the US national security. Today’s decision demonstrates that these disclosures do not negatively affect U.S. security, and that future classification is not justified under US law.
With today’s announcement, the Biden Administration has restored the nuclear stockpile transparency that was created by the Obama administration, halted by the Trump administration, revived by Biden administration in its first year, but then halted again for the past three years.
While applauding the U.S. disclosure, FAS also urged other nuclear-armed states to disclose their stockpile numbers and warheads dismantled. Excessive nuclear secrecy creates mistrust, fuels worst-case planning, and enables hardliners and misinformers to exaggerate nuclear threats.

Nippon Steel hires Mike Pompeo to advise on U.S. Steel deal
Japan's biggest steelmaker, Nippon Steel Corp. (5401.T), opens new tab, has hired former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to help with its effort to acquire U.S. Steel (X.N), opens new tab, the Japanese company said on Saturday.
"We look forward to working alongside him to further emphasize the ways in which Nippon Steel's acquisition of U.S. Steel bolsters the country's economic and national security," Nippon Steel said in a statement to Reuters.
Japan's Kyodo news agency and Bloomberg, which first reported the appointment, said Pompeo had been hired as an adviser. Nippon Steel said in its statement that Pompeo had not been given a specific job title within the company.
The world's No. 4 steelmaker added that Pompeo, who served as secretary of state during Donald Trump's presidency, was a well-respected figure among both Democrats and Republicans.
The steelmaker issued its statement during the U.S. night.
Although both steelmakers have received all regulatory approvals outside of the United States for their proposed $14.9 billion merger, they face political opposition and regulatory scrutiny from within the United States.
Nippon Steel also faces objections from the powerful United Steelworkers (USW) union, which fears the deal could lead to job losses. The Japanese company has pledged to honour agreements between U.S. Steel and USW, while offering some other commitments as well.
Both Republican nominee Trump and President Joe Biden have said they would block the deal.
Nippon Steel's key negotiator on the deal, Vice Chairman Takahiro Mori, visited the United States this month, including U.S. Steel facilities, and met stakeholders and employees, the company said earlier this week.
