Here's something you most definitely won't hear on Fox News.
A newly released report just came out — and the results are in.
California's GDP is up even higher than it was a few months ago — and we're continuing to rise in the ranks.
The Golden State is now the 4th largest economy in the world.

Yup. In my country, the example used to explain the problem with gdp is this.
If someone goes around breaking all the windows on houses, it gives more work to glaziers, effectively raising gdp. So why shouldn´t we all be breaking windows and get richer? But no one is really richer. That example has been used for decades to explain the problem with gdp.
No one is richer in California. The people that lost their homes aren´t richer. The people paying more in rent because a bunch of people are suddenly without homes and needs to rent aren´t richer either.
You could argue that builders and landlords are richer, but they got like that without raising production. Landlords got richer sitting on their ass, builders got richer by rebuilding what should never have been lost, time that could have been used building factories or shops or actual new homes.

I hate you Lego niggers… I bought a Lego bird to build for my mom for her birthday and I’ve already put 3 hours into it and still only halfway done. I cannot wait until we annex Greenland and liberate them from the confusing tiny block Lego jews

I had so much Lego as a child it was unreal. The Lego i inherited from my 2 older brothers and then the Lego i got myself. We are talking piles of pure Lego. Bags, big bags, filled with pure lego with all the instructions long gone. Pirateships, star wars ships, medieval castles. modern buildings and helicopters. I was into the underwater shit, which was the hype when I was a kid. A big aquatic station and submarines. As a teenager I remember it all being gathered in big plastic bags, decades of Lego for several children. Thousands upon thousands dollars worth of Lego and then passed on to my young nephews, like a family heirloom, only this heirloom would grow in value as not only would my nephews get all the old stuff, but also add to the treasure with birthday and Christmas gifts.
