They want chaos so order can be born out of it eventually, which is why we have this pendulum swing in recent times. As you say all this energy will be wasted ultimately as the world has to move forwards. It won’t be good. But no one said the gods are good.
I think individually we just have to be aware and reject what we perceive as evils, try and find the correct path and take care of ourselves and our loved ones. Prepare physically and mentally for some dark times. Especially physically.
Let’s be honest western folk had it far too easy up until now anyway.
