Conservative Party of BC's Interim Leader Wants to Bulldoze a Tunnel 200 Workers Are Building Right Now
Lorne Doerkson stood in Port Moody on Friday and promised a ten lane bridge. The price is $6 billion over five years. He says it saves $2.5 billion against the $8.5 billion tunnel.
The Conservatives have not released a full costed platform. Not one. Voters are being asked to trust a number from a podium.
BC NDP Premier David Eby stood at the tunnel site and said what workers already know. Stop now and the work is disrupted. Jobs are threatened. Federal funding is at risk.
The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 called the Conservative bridge plan reckless and wasteful. About $581 million is already spent. More than 200 workers have been on site this year.
