The issue is in China the Korean war is taught as "the war against american agression" and thus attacking NK would only serve to harden the anti-west propaganda in China. It would cause such shaky days/weeks/months with the CCP and if we didnt politically manouver PERFECTLY they could v v v likely join in the war on the side of their allies, NK, which would be a terrible situation if we were the aggressor + being on the defensive as we currently are gives us a strategic advantage in a war with China but if we committed to the Korean pennisula we would be showing almost the entirety of our hand leaving them free to invade Taiwan and/or many other countries on their list; all the while being able to justify their aggression because the west invaded NK.

I don’t believe in wars of liberation, I subscribe to the same school of war as Clausewitz did which is that war should be fought without regard to morality with the aim of completely subjugating your enemy. For the North Koreans I believe that would require a campaign of complete annihilation, since as you pointed out they have unparalleled fanaticism; subhuman zipperheads don’t deserve liberation anyway. To your last point about the bankers, that is the question the really bothers me, I am honestly torn between thinking that a war with North Korea would cut off their ability to trade with the East, wreak havoc on their entire economic infrastructure through cyber and terror attacks, and cause ungodly amounts of chaos and destruction from nuclear and biological attacks, thus causing their system to collapse completely and thinking that, as you said, they might simply consolidate more power and money through it all somehow.
