Special Announcement

Someone in the mod recruitment thread on /pol/ claiming to be the owner of /zundel/ has announced that he his deleting /zundel/ and the mega account associated with it. I have tried to contact the BO by email to request ownership be transferred to me. But then I realised that his mega is a subscription account and I can't afford it anyway.

I've begun downloading the folders from the main mega link starting with the first one "Zundel's Bunker". However a few things:

1. Mega will no longer allow me to download files without using their shitty software app which I've been forced to install to get the files. I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem.

2. The folder I'm currently downloading is over 5GB which means I'm going to hit the daily timeout soon.

It would be great if fellow anons here could pick a folder and download it or transfer it to their own mega account so we can preserve all the knowledge. I'm pretty sure the rest of the folders are individually less than 5GB so it should be easy. We can coordinate how to re-upload them somewhere else after we've saved them.

Here is the mega link

mega.nz/#F!EINjRS4S!P4RCozMkJ4iqnqnrvKVrDg

In the meantime maybe we can convince the BO not to shoah the whole thing but it's not looking good. He seemed pretty intent on doing it.

I don't know but he believes this place is run by the US state departement now or something.

He never was the BO of endchan /pdfs/ as far as I know. I claimed it after I took over the ownership here, I think it's been over a year now. I still own endchan /pdfs/. It gets almost no traffic though

Also I managed to claim back >>>/tdt/ from him today. It was on the claims board because he hadn't logged in for a while. It isn't much but it still has a fair amount of files on there, some of which I think appeared on /zundel/ before he wiped it.

>>8433

You know what? That thought did occur to me. Or maybe he couldn't afford to keep the mega running. But he was still an asshat to everyone which doesn't really make sense. He could have appealed for help and got people to download everything and share the load.

Here's a torrent for my copy of it (I'm the person from the /zundel/ thread):

https://a.doko.moe/rgbpeb.torrent

https://a.pomf.cat/recnpu.torrent

I'll periodically seed it for as long as I can (likely years).

It's date is marked as 07 September 2017, but I checked like a week ago and there was no difference in terms of book content at the time.

The folder structure is slightly messed up due to misconfigured JDownloader settings, but it's very easy to fix.

Also, the Mega upload of it is currently at around 41%. I won't take it down, unlike the other guy in this thread.

OUTSTANDING!

I will try and torrent a bit later once I've cleared and organized some storage. I already downloaded a few folders from the mega but I guess I'll just get the whole thing all over again anyway. Thanks anon!

And thanks to all the anons who grabbed it/made it available. I think we're going to make it.

You're doing God's work, lad. I don't need any hotpockets thanks to how slow the board is but maybe you'd like to be one so you can manage the audiobook thread? You post there pretty much every day after all. I made bookpack anon a vol ages ago so he could manage his own thread but it was kind of redundant because he only posted once a month if that.

Appreciated, but the added control and responsibility would only clutter my mind, I think. The only thing I'd like to change about my thread is to add the audiook folder link into the OP, so that newcomers can access everything without scouring the thread. Thanks.

when will you fags ever learn

1. archives of archives of archives.

(self-explanatory)

2. never share or archive something you haven't personally verified and created a checksum for.

(I'm sick and tired of finding archives with corrupted PDFs in them, and /zundel/ had plenty)

3. Organize knowledge not by alphabetical order, not by category, but by quality and information density.

(There will come a time where you can't save everything. Make sure you can save the most detailed works made with the most care.)

I swear, you fags will never learn the 3 most basic rules of archival activity no matter how many times I repeat them.

1. Triple archives (store things in two different servers and one air-gapped storage facility e.g. padded Ammo Box or Metal Trash Can)

1.5. Bonus: use BitTorrent or >>>/ipfs/ as one of the "servers" so people can share them easily, or have a library in TOR/I2P

2. Verify that the PDFs/EPUBs work using a liveUSB stick to prevent PDF attacks (which is why EPUB is better)

3. Please go through >>7924 and look at how people get stuff done, there will always be key books that takes priority

Hey /pdfs/ I have a very important question for you

everyone I talk to says .pdf files are just as insecure as flash games and contain horrible computer destroying viruses and other malware.

how do I know if this is true or not?

what is safe? what is not safe?

Can someone please help me? I'm sure there are many good things to read but I'm poor as fuck and can't afford a new toaster if mine gets fucked. what should I do?

what is a .pdf attack?

what is the best ammo box or metal trashcan to buy? does the lid have to be good? what is the best thing to pad the ammo box with? I'm assuming this is to prevent loss of data by EMP attack from some attacking enemy nation or something random? Please teach me anon!

Unless you know how to read hex-dump, or setup a VM or secondary computer to prevent spill-overs, use EPUBs instead.

For example, the monthly book packs from http://inclibuql666c5c4.onion.link/ or http://inclibuql666c5c4.onion.cat/ are all EPUB.

Any metal container that is stiff and hard enough to withstand tough terrain will do.

Maybe put a rubber-sealed plastic container inside as a second layer for better weather-proofing.

Or just wrap the hard drive or computer with plastic wrap and then tin foil if you want extra protection.
