this one is different, because if you violate a court ordered restraining order, you are effectively telling a judge that you refuse to obey his order, that you think you are above the law, and that 'you make the rules', not the judge.

this is an insult to the judge, so at that point, you have challenged the court to make an example out of you

when somebody violated a court issued restraining order, the judge has full discretion to invent their own sentence instead of following the sentencing guidelines.

so instead of a predetermined sentence of 1 to 5 years for a felony

or 1 year for a misdemeanor

at this point, the judge can sentence you to whatever he wants, and nobody can change it… he can also modify it, and order odd punishments, like revoking your access to phones or video calls, curtailing your ability to get the once a week potato chips or candy bar, your mail, your visitation list, whatever he wants

to be succinct, violating a restraining order is BEGGING the judge to make a fool out of you

because?… you already disobeyed an order

you DON'T get a second chance

my advice?

you're already in trouble

they will come to you

whatever city you're in

it doesn't matter

your local police dept will arrest you

and if you live in a different city

you'll have to wait 30 days to be transported

and it begins all over again

in a different jail

they WILL find you

so they can serve you with the restraining order

they WON'T 'decide not to serve you the court papers'

the cops are the mailman

they MUST deliver the restraining order

or they get in trouble

they will do their job

probably $8,000 bond up to $10,000

to guarantee you'll return for trial
