Until now the nation has been very weak in its treatment of rebellion. I guess because they ARE weak, and also because they fear that harsh treatment would blow the issue up.

That has given time for the rebels to imports tens of millions of invaders, and now the problem is too big to avoid.

Yeah, nobody ever really talks about that. Illegals get counted in the census. Even if absolutely zero of them vote, they have this influence over our national politics by giving states such as California more House seats and more electoral votes. Remember that next time they say anything about red states being overrepresented in the Senate.
