• Michael E. Mann is the creator of the “hockey stick graph” that has driven the global warming debate for the last 25 years.

Mann’s appearance at this event is emblematic of a disturbing shift that has been years in the making. Serious and thoughtful people in the environmental movement tried to address industrial and military pollution for decades. Now their cause has been co-opted by Big Tech and other corporate actors with malevolent intentions — and the rest of the environmental movement has gone along with this, apparently without objection.

So we are witnessing a convergence between the global warming movement, the biowarfare industrial complex, and the WHO pandemic treaty grifters.

George Soros and Wall Street moguls are reportedly funding pro-Palestine protests at major U.S. universities—including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia.

These movements, expanding nationwide, are spearheaded by the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine.

At three colleges, the protests are being fueled by paid activists who are “fellows” of a Soros-funded group called the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR). USCPR provides up to $7,800 for its community-based fellows and between $2,880 and $3,660 for its campus-based “fellows” in return for spending eight hours a week organizing “campaigns led by Palestinian organizations.”

They are trained to “rise up, to revolution.”

Since 2017, Soros’ Open Society Foundations have allegedly funneled at least $300,000 to these protests, which have also took in $355,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) since 2019. RBF is chaired by David Rockefeller Jr., a fourth-generation member of the oil dynasty.

The protests feature significant coordination and support, with participants receiving stipends for organizing activities.

Qatar has had a lot of fingers in a lot of pies. While we knew about the EU's 'Qatargate,' investments with the Kushner family, and of course Sen. Bob Menendez advancing Qatar's interests, Politico reports that the Biden family's ties to Qatar "would constitute some of the closest known financial links between a relative of President Joe Biden and a foreign government," if courtroom testimony about Jim Biden's foreign fundraising efforts is substantiated.

In June 2017, Qatar's neighbors—led by Saudi Arabia, banded together and cut diplomatic ties with the country, citing its alleged support for terrorism. As a result, the country was thrown into a sustained crisis. To dig themselves out, Qatari rulers began showering well-connected Westerners with gifts and financial benefits, according to Politico, "sometimes in the form of investment funding."

According to public records obtained by the outlet, Jim Biden leveraged ties to his older brother and "sought workarounds to restrictions on international money movements," including one discussion about trying to move money across a Middle Eastern border in the form of gold bars that may or may not have happened.

"My family could provide a wealth of introductions and business opportunities at the highest levels that I believe would be worthy of the interest of His Excellency," Jim Biden and Rustom wrote in a draft letter to an official at the Qatari sovereign wealth fund, the Qatar Investment Authority. "On behalf of the Biden family, I welcome your interest here," the draft continues.

The Post has learned that left-leaning philanthropist George Soros and other left elites are funding the student radicals who are fueling the nationwide explosion of Israel-hating protests. AP

No one familiar with the state of modern academia can be much surprised by the wave of anti-Israel tent-city occupations sweeping US campuses — but that doesn’t make them 100% “organic.”

And The Post’s discovery that lefty philanthropists are funding student “protest leaders” may be just the tip of an iceberg.

Encampments at Harvard, Yale, UC-Berkeley, Ohio State and Emory in Georgia were organized by branches of Students for Justice in Palestine, which gets cash (some direct, some indirect) from the Soros family “charities” as well as the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and retired Wall Street banker Felice Gelman.

Gelman and the Soroses also give to Jewish Voice for Peace and Within Our Lifetime, two more groups intimately involved in the protests.

At least three organizers — Malak Afaneh (Berkeley), Craig Birckhead-Morton (Yale) and Nidaa Lafi (University of Texas-Dallas) — are paid fellows of another lefty-philanthropy favorite, the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights.

USCPR community and college fellows earn stipends of $2,880 to $7,800 for work organizing campaigns to demand cutting ties to Israel.

Though most of the campus occupiers are themselves plenty privileged, the “charitable giving” helps explain why the demonstrators get to protest in style: sleeping in Amazon-ordered tents, enjoying delivery pizza, coffee from Dunkin’, free sandwiches from Pret a Manger, organic tortilla chips and $10 rotisserie chickens.

Cash and leadership tips may come from other sources, too: At least one expert suspects foreign assistance, funding and influence based on the simultaneous protests hitting at Passover, the appearance of common tents at the encampments and the use of talking points similar to those of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.

And of course any “progressive” protest, especially in a college town or major city, is likely to attract plenty of “careerist” lefties who hang out near campuses for years or even decades after graduation (or dropping out); some (the non-“trustafarians”) even have real jobs.

That said, the Soros foundation has a long history of funding left-wing causes, from electing soft-on-crime prosecutors to pushing drug-decriminalization; countless other foundations like the Rockefeller Brothers Fund have fallen under far-left leadership over the years.

How much of these charities’ political “work” actually qualifies for tax-favored status is something the IRS and the Justice Department ought to be looking into.

A University of Wisconsin professor is still raking in more than $90,000 a year, despite being demoted over X-rated “vegan cooking” videos he and his wife make with high profile porn stars.

Joe Gow was fired last year from his role as chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, but allowed to stay on as a communications professor. His annual income dropped from $263,000 to approximately $92,000.

And despite other educations making bank from adult videos, Gow says his XXX career isn’t paying the bills — calling it a hobby.

Gow, 64, is currently not allowed to set foot on campus and The Post has confirmed he is still on paid leave.

He will face a hearing later this year to decide whether he can return to the classroom. In the meantime, he is collecting his professor salary — and still pumping out X-rated content at a rapid clip.

Last month the interim chancellor, Gow’s replacement, filed three charges against him, accusing him of unethical conduct, failing to cooperate with an investigation and using the school’s computers to produce pornographic materials.

The charges are connected to two racy e-books Gow and his wife wrote under pseudonyms: “Monogamy with Benefits: How Porn Enriches Our Relationship” and “Married with Benefits — Our Real-Life Adult Industry Adventures.”

Gow insists the videos and the books never mentioned UW-La Crosse or his role at the university.

He believes the Regents Board violated his free speech rights when they fired him from being chancellor, and that being relieved of his teaching duties will further harm his career.

“They want to fire me as a tenured faculty member,” Gow told The Post.

“But what I do with my wife — on my own time and using my own equipment — is none of their business.”

Gow is married to former UW-La Crosse professor Carmen Wilson. Known online as the “Sexy Happy Couple,” they promote themselves as a “sex-positive couple promoting free expression.”

While many of their videos are one-and-one sessions, they often make threesome or group videos with porn stars.

Gow insists the content is as ethical as possible. “Nobody is cheating on anybody,” he says. “This is us enjoying our sex life openly and honestly.

“We are in love, and we have fun together. People don’t understand it, and it makes them uncomfortable; that’s why they want me gone.”

But his removal has divided the student body and the city of La Crosse, sparking a debate over whether a porn actor — who once paid a veteran porn star thousands of dollars to speak to students on campus — is fit to teach young adults.

Some students say Gow is a good teacher who shouldn’t be judged for his porn movies. “Sex work is real work,” student Hannah Hogan wrote on an online petition. “Let the man live.”

But in a letter to the editor of the La Crosse Tribune, resident Liza Gilbert said Gow is unfit to mold the malleable minds of college students.

“The porn industry would not exist without sex trafficking,” Gilbert wrote. “Gow is perpetuating and profiting from an industry that victimizes both women and men, many of them minors.”

Gow will face a hearing later this year. He says he has not hired an attorney and intends to represent himself.

“The burden of proof is on them to prove that I did something wrong,” he says, “And I don’t know how they’re going to do that.”

Mark Pitsch, a spokesperson for the UW system, did not return The Post’s requests for comment.

Gow acknowledges his sex work isn’t lucrative, but is more of a “hobby” to enhance his marriage. His porn work has not come close to replenishing the lost income from his demotion.

But Gow insists he is proud of his on-camera sex adventures.

“I love what we’ve created,” he says. “This has brought my wife and I a lot of openness. It has enhanced our relationship. Why would I feel shame about that?”

In J.R.R. Tolkien’s great epic, “The Lord of the Rings,” it becomes apparent only gradually that the forces of darkness have united.

Sauron, with his baleful all-seeing eye, emerges as the leader of a vast axis of evil: the Black Riders, the corrupted wizard Saruman, the subhuman orcs, the malignant courtier Wormtongue, the giant venomous spider Shelob — they are all in it together, and Mordor is their headquarters.

Tolkien knew whereof he wrote. A veteran of World War I, he watched with dismay the approach of a second great conflagration.

Sipping pints of bitter and puffing his pipe in “The Shire” — his idealized Middle England — he could only shudder as Nazi Germany, fascist Italy and imperialist Japan came together to form their Axis in 1936-37, and mutter, “I told you so,” when Hitler and Stalin joined forces in 1939.

We, too, are witnessing the formation of an Axis.

I was reminded of Tolkien by a post from the conservative broadcaster Mark R. Levin: “Appeasement is escalation. Our enemies are on the move. Our allies are being encircled and attacked or soon attacked. . . . Conservatism and MAGA are not about isolationism or pacifism. . . . It is up to us, patriotic Americans, to step into the breach and get this done now.”

‘In a far-away country’

The significance of Levin’s intervention is that it puts him on a collision course with the isolationist elements within the Republican Party, such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who threatened to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson if he pressed ahead with a bill to restore aid to Ukraine.

“We are going to stand for freedom and make sure that Vladimir Putin doesn’t march through Europe,” Johnson declared. “We have to project to Putin, Xi, and Iran, and North Korea, and anybody else that we will defend freedom.”

To the likes of Greene and Levin’s former Fox News colleague Tucker Carlson, the war in Ukraine is “a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing,” as UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain infamously said of then-Czechoslovakia in 1938.

They appear quite unembarrassed to serve as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “useful idiots,” in direct lineal succession to Hitler and Stalin’s apologists.

And not only Putin’s. For, as State Department spokesman Matthew Miller pointed out, behind the Russian war effort stands the vast economic resources of the People’s Republic of China.

“What we have seen over the past months is that there have been materials moving from China to Russia . . . showing up on the battlefield in Ukraine,” Miller told reporters. “And we are incredibly concerned about that.”

In Beijing earlier this month, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned her Chinese counterpart that there would be “significant consequences” if China continued to support Russia’s war effort.

China’s leaders gave the invasion of Ukraine their blessing on its eve — what else did the mutual pledge of a “no-limits” partnership mean? — and President Xi Jinping’s support has been crucial to Putin’s survival ever since his invasion force was repelled from outside Kyiv two years ago.

By the same token, one cannot treat Iran’s war against Israel in isolation. Tehran supports Russia’s war against Ukraine, supplying thousands of drones and missiles similar to the ones unleashed against Israel last weekend.

Russia, in turn, is likely helping to strengthen Iran’s air defenses. China is not only one of the main buyers of Iran’s oil; Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called Tehran after the attack on Israel to praise his counterparts. Chinese propaganda has been consistently anti-Israel since Hamas’ murderous attacks of Oct. 7.

China, Russia & Iran

The emergence of this new Axis was foreseen by Zbigniew Brzezinski, President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser. In his 1997 book, “The Grand Chessboard,” Brzezinski wrote:

“Potentially, the most dangerous scenario would be a grand coalition of China, Russia, and perhaps Iran, an ‘antihegemonic’ coalition united not by ideology but by complementary grievances.”

Brzezinski was prophetic.

However, it is hard not to conclude that his successors in the Biden administration have done a great deal to make this coalition a reality, by abandoning Afghanistan to the Taliban in 2021, then failing to deter Russia from invading Ukraine in 2022, and finally failing to deter Iran from unleashing its proxies against Israel.

Yes, Biden stepped up to aid Ukraine and Israel when they came under attack, but an earlier show of strength might have avoided both emergencies.

Levin and Johnson have realized that some far-away quarrels must ultimately concern us.

They are parts of a single war being waged by a new Axis against the fundamental values we hold dear: democracy, the rule of law, individual freedom. I predict that the isolationists’ counter arguments will not age well.

For now, fortunately, we are in Cold War II, not World War III. However, Cold War II is proceeding rather faster than Cold War I.

If the Russian invasion of Ukraine was our equivalent of the Korean War of 1950-53, we have skated past a second Cuban Missile Crisis — over Taiwan — and entered a détente, a sequence that took two decades last time.

Since November’s presidential summit in Woodside, Calif., the Chinese have seemed genuinely keen to avoid a showdown and want to engage in serious, if frosty, dialogue with the US, reminiscent of 1969-72.

But the surprise attack on Israel by Hamas propelled us all the way to 1973. And it is worth recalling that détente did not long survive Henry Kissinger’s successful assertion of US primacy in the Middle East in the wake of that year’s Yom Kippur War.

In short, we seem to be getting the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s compressed together in a somewhat bewildering mashup.

Then, as now, cold war has an ideological dimension: At least some Republicans are back to talking about defending freedom.

Then, as now, cold war is a technological race, though today the frontiers of innovation are artificial intelligence and quantum computing, as well as nuclear weapons and missile defense.

Then, as now, cold war is inflationary and domestically divisive.

Then, as now, it matters a lot if China and Russia are united or at each other’s throats. Their current unity is a real headache for the US and its allies.

Then as now, there are not just two groupings, but three, because a significant number of countries would prefer to be nonaligned.

Key differences

So what are the biggest differences between Cold War I and II?

First, China is a much bigger economic contender than the Soviet Union ever was. Second, the West is economically entangled with China, through a vast web of supply chains, in a way we never were with the USSR. Third, we are much weaker in terms of manufacturing capacity.

With China flooding the world with cheap “green” stuff, the West has no option but to revive protectionism and industrial policy, turning the economic strategy clock back to the 1970s, too.

Yellen complained last month that Chinese “excess capacity . . . in ‘new’ industries like solar, EVs, and lithium-ion batteries” was “hurt[ing] American firms and workers, as well as firms and workers around the world.”

Fourth, US fiscal policy is on a completely unsustainable path. To run a 7% deficit at a time of full employment is, to put it mildly, not what the macroeconomics textbooks recommend.

More importantly, as the Congressional Budget Office has just pointed out, the relentless growth of the federal debt in public hands relative to gross domestic product — from 99% this year to a projected 166% by 2054 — will inevitably constrain future administrations.

My sole contribution to the statute book of historiography — what I call Ferguson’s Law — states that any great power that spends more on interest payments than on defense will not stay great for very long.

True of Hapsburg Spain, true of ancien régime France, true of the Ottoman Empire, true of the British Empire, this law is about to be put to the test by the US this year, when (according to the CBO) net interest outlays will be 3.1% of GDP, defense spending 3.0%.

Extrapolating defense spending on the assumption that it remains consistently 48% of discretionary spending (the average of 2014-23), the gap between debt service and defense is going to widen rapidly.

By 2041, the CBO projections suggest, interest payments (4.6% of GDP) will be double the defense budget (2.3%). Between 1962 and 1989, by way of comparison, interest payments averaged 1.8% of GDP; defense 6.4%.

As Michael Boskin and Kiran Sridhar recently argued, the Biden administration’s proposed defense budget for 2025 is already “vastly inadequate.” The Pentagon needs to be spending more if our adversaries are to be deterred.

Fifth, our alliances may prove to be weaker than they were in Cold War I. In Europe, Germany is more ambivalent about US leadership of the Atlantic alliance than it was in the days of Ostpolitik.

In Asia, the US may think the “Quad” has turned India into an Asian ally, but I doubt Prime Minister Narendra Modi would pick up the phone if Washington called for assistance in Taiwan.

Agree but disagree

For all these reasons, we should not be overconfident about the outcome of Cold War II. In particular, as Elbridge Colby has consistently warned, a Taiwan crisis — were China to blockade or invade this year — would find the US ill-prepared. And Beijing may not conform to US intelligence assessments that it will wait until 2027 to make its move.

Yet there is one final similarity with Cold War I. Now, as then, there is a bipartisan consensus in Washington that the communist superpower poses a serious threat. The political question that remains is who is best able to counter that threat.

In a way, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris personify the post-Vietnam Democratic Party’s approach, which ran from Jimmy Carter through Bill Clinton to Barack Obama.

This approach nearly always prioritizes “de-escalation” over deterrence (even in Ukraine that has been true), and tends to cut the defense budget.

By contrast, Donald Trump has veered between belligerence and isolationism, clearly preferring trade wars to the “fire and fury” of real wars. But he is temperamentally good at deterrence — if only because our adversaries find him so unpredictable. Under Trump, defense spending went up.

Hobbit of advice

By launching their drone and missile swarm at Israel, Iran has unwittingly given many Republicans permission to follow former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo down a path of hawkishness that is anything but isolationist.

Will Trump himself heed the hawks’ advice? If he sticks with isolationism, I suspect it may hurt his chances of reelection.

It may be that the ultimate historical significance of the Iranian attack on Israel will be its effect not on the Middle East but on Republican sentiment in the US.

Tolkien’s hobbits are also isolationists, in their way. However, Frodo and Sam come to realize that they must fight to destroy Sauron’s Ring of Power.

When they return to the Shire, they find that it, too, has been overrun by the Enemy. But it is not too late to salvage the situation. Symbolically, the wizard Saruman perishes on the very threshold of Frodo’s home:

“And that’s the end of that,” said Sam. “A nasty end, and I wish I needn’t have seen it; but it’s a good riddance.”

“And the very last end of the War, I hope,” said Merry.

“I hope so,” said Frodo and sighed. “The very last stroke. But to think that it should fall here, at the very door of Bag End! Among all my hopes and fears at least I never expected that.”

“I shan’t call it the end, till we’ve cleared up the mess,” said Sam gloomily. “And that’ll take a lot of time and work.”

Words for isolationists to ponder in 2024.

Afroman reprised his 2000 hit song, “Because I Got High,” with a new version making fun of Hunter Biden.

Baste Records posted on X on Friday about Afroman’s new song, “Hunter Got High,” sharing a link to the full video on YouTube.

“Hey Hunter! Roll another one of those congressional blunts, brotha,” the video starts, as Afroman and an actor portraying Hunter Biden pull up smoking in the back of a black SUV.

“He was gonna get his laptop fixed, but Hunter got high,” Afroman sings.

“He shoulda let Hillary bleach the whole hard drive. But Hunter got high, Hunter got high, Hunter got high,” he sings along with the actor portraying Hunter and a white-haired man in a mask portraying President Biden.

Beyond the Hunter Biden laptop, Afroman’s new song also takes jabs at alleged influence peddling by the Biden family, as well the Secret Service confirming that cocaine was found at the White House last summer and subsequently closing that probe without naming a culprit.

Afroman also mocks Hunter Biden’s art career, which has come under fire by House Republicans raising conflict of interest concerns between wealthy buyers and the White House.

Eric Trump warned that if the Supreme Court brushes aside presidential immunity, prosecutors could line up a case against President Biden over last summer’s White House cocaine debacle.

The Trump scion further cautioned that if his father fails to win his bid for absolute immunity then the floodgates could be open to a flurry of prosecutions against other presidents.

“They’ll probably go after Joe Biden for having cocaine in the White House. They’ll go after Biden for raiding his opponent’s home,” Eric Trump, 40, predicted on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“They will probably go after him … for literally, two weeks before the 2022 primaries, literally depleting the petroleum national — the reserves so he could lower gas prices,” he railed.

Last Thursday, the Supreme Court heard a landmark case in which former President Donald Trump, 77, claimed that presidents enjoy absolute immunity for their official actions, and therefore the courts should toss out his four-count 2020 election indictment.

Justices on the conservative-led high court appeared deeply skeptical about the claim of absolute presidential immunity, while simultaneously sounding leery about presidents having no immunity.

By mounting the presidential immunity challenge, the elder Trump managed to delay the 2020 election subversion trial, which was supposed to commence on March 4.

Echoing the former president’s legal team, Eric Trump cautioned that without immunity protecting former commanders-in-chief, overzealous prosecutors could have a field day.

“The only people who are going to benefit are big law firms in Washington, DC, because they are going to go after every single president. They will start with Obama, Fast and Furious, right, where he gives 2,000 weapons to cartel members,” Eric Trump mused.

“Where do you want to stop? Are they going to go after George Bush for lying about weapons of mass destruction,” he later added.

Donald Trump is the first sitting or current US president to be criminally charged and is facing 88 counts spanning four indictments. He has denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to all charges.

“The floodgates are going to open, and I guarantee you, Joe Biden will not have one foot outside of the White House doors before they start going after him legally, ruthlessly,” Eric Trump added.

Although the younger Trump was vague about who might target Biden, 81, his father has previously vowed to name a special prosecutor to look into the first family.

Donald Trump had also made a similar pledge about Hillary Clinton but ultimately declined to follow up during his administration.

Meanwhile, Biden has strenuously refrained from any action or comment that could be perceived as him meddling in his predecessor’s legal woes.

The Supreme Court is expected to decide on the immunity question by July. That decision could mean relegating the matter back to the lower courts to iron out certain aspects of the case, such as the distinction between private and official actions.

A Louisiana man who repeatedly raped a 14-year-old girl and impregnated her will be physically castrated while serving a 50-year prison sentence as part of a plea deal.

Glenn Sullivan Sr., 54, of Springfield pleaded guilty April 17 to four counts of second-degree rape — and agreed to be surgically castrated, as opposed to chemically castrated, at the request of prosecutors, authorities said.

“I felt that this case was a strong enough case and warranted such action,” said 21st Judicial Assistant District Attorney Brad Cascio in a statement, according to WBRZ.

Sullivan raped his victim and then terrorized her into silence by threatening her and her family, said a statement by 21st District Attorney Scott Perrilloux.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into Sullivan in July 2022 after the girl came forward and told detectives he had raped her “multiple times” when she was just 14 years old.

In investigating the sordid case, detectives learned Sullivan had “groomed” the victim and “used threats of violence against her and her family” to keep her quiet, Perrilloux wrote.

“So many of these types of cases go unreported because of fear. The strength it must have taken for this young woman to tell the truth in the face of threats and adversity is truly incredible,” Perrilloux said, applauding the young victim for her courage in coming forward.

The juvenile became pregnant during one of the attacks, and DNA evidence obtained during the investigation proved Sullivan was the father of the child, the DA’s office said.

“Sex crimes against juveniles are the most malicious crimes we prosecute. I intend on using every tool the legislature is willing to give us, including physical castration, to seek justice for the children in our community,” Cascio added in the statement.

In addition to the decades-long prison term Judge William Dykes handed down, Sullivan will also be required to be surgically castrated, a procedure that will be carried out by the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

A 2008 Louisiana law gives the state the power to “chemically castrate” sex offenders convicted of certain crimes using a drug called medroxyprogesterone acetate.

But the law also states a male prisoner can be physically castrated as long as he files a written motion with the court showing he “intelligently and knowingly, gives his voluntary consent to physical castration as an alternative to the treatment.”

The law also states that such procedures must be performed a minimum of one week before a defendant is released.

HOLDENVILLE, Okla. – At least two people were killed, and several others were injured Saturday when devastating tornadoes tore through several Oklahoma cities during a severe weather outbreak that caused catastrophic damage to numerous homes and buildings and knocked out power to tens of thousands of utility customers.

The two deaths were reported in the city of Holdenville, and FOX 25 in Oklahoma City reports an infant is among the dead.

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) said 14 homes were damaged or destroyed in Holdenville, and Highway 9 had been blocked due to debris in the roadway.

In addition, Oklahoma City Task Force One was responding to the area on Sunday to provide search and rescue support.

Significant damage was reported across the region, including in Marietta, where damage was reported to Marietta Hospital.

The OEM said hospital patients took shelter during the extreme weather, and no injuries had been reported there.

The storms also forced the closure of Interstate 35 North at the Texas state line because of overturned vehicles and power lines that were thrown across the roadway.

The OEM said the Chickasaw Nation was providing support for the storm response in Marietta.

Murray County Emergency Management said significant damage was also found in the town of Sulphur, and numerous injuries have been reported.

The OEM said search and rescue operations were ongoing there, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) was responding to apartments on Woodruff Blvd, where tornado damage was reported.

At least four structures were damaged northwest of Newkirk in Kay County, with numerous trees and power lines being brought down due to the effects of the storms.

Two weather-related crashes were also reported, and heavy rain led to flooding on several roads in the area.

Cotton County was also hit hard by the severe weather, and the OEM said three to five homes were damaged there.

About 43,000 customers were left without power as a result of the storms, with the highest number of outages being reported in Tulsa, Carter, Murray, Love, Hughes, Pontotoc and Seminole counties, according to the OEM.

State of emergency declared in 12 Oklahoma counties

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt issued an executive order on Sunday morning declaring a state of emergency in Carter, Cotton, Garfield, Hughes, Kay, Lincoln, Love, Murray, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Payne and Pontotoc counties because of the damage left behind in the wake of the severe weather on Saturday.

“There is hereby a declared a disaster emergency caused by the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, hail and flooding in the State of Oklahoma that threatens the lives and property of the people of this State and the public’s peace, health and safety,” the executive order read.

The executive order will remain in effect for the next 30 days.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said she was in contact with Gov. Stitt and said the department stands ready to support the affected region if necessary.

Hospital, nursing home damaged in Marietta, Oklahoma

The Love County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that a tornado was reported in the Marietta area that destroyed several buildings and brought down power lines “everywhere.”

“Please stay home and off the roads as it’s causing severe congestion and issues for responders working this disaster,” the sheriff’s office pleaded. “Again, please stay home and off the roadways.”

The sheriff’s office said significant damage was reported to a Dollar Tree warehouse, Homeland, Dollar General, a nursing home and part of a hospital.

“There is heavy damage to our town and we have every responder out checking homes, businesses, etc.,” the sheriff’s office said. “Please be patient as this is a natural disaster and will take time to restore power and get things in some sort of order before cleanup.”

The sheriff’s department said all hospital patients were moved from the area, and crews were working to remove the last few people from the nursing home that was damaged.

Survey teams investigating damage

The National Weather Service office in Norman said it appeared as though at least 20 tornadoes were reported in its forecast area on Saturday.

Forecasters said that number is preliminary and could be higher or lower than 20.

Four teams have been sent out across the area to investigate damage in communities such as Marietta, Ardmore and Sulphur, as well as Holdenville, Dibble and Norman.

The NWS said on X, formerly Twitter, that additional areas would be surveyed soon in communities to the west of Oklahoma City, as well as locations to the southwest into portions of Texas.

An upstate New York prosecutor under fire for calling a cop “an a–hole” after getting pulled over for speeding has yanked her social media accounts amid the looming controversy.

Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley has been lambasted since police bodycam footage nabbed her throwing her privilege around and ignoring a Webster, New York, cop who tried to do his duty and pull her over after spotting her speeding.

Now the embattled prosecutor seems to be making herself scarce online.

“The official [X] page of Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley has been deleted,” WHEC-TV News reporter Jennifer Lewke posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday.

“At last check, the comments on all the posts had been flooded with people from around the world calling on her to resign,” Lewke said in the post.

A check of Doorley’s DA Facebook page also revealed that the content is no longer available.

Doorley’s office did not respond to a request for comment from The Post on Sunday.

The upstate prosecutor started taking heat last week when bodycam footage captured her bratty encounter with the police officer, who allegedly clocked her doing 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Doorley refused to stop and drove home, where she called the cop “an a–hole,” taunted him that “I know the law better than you” when the unnamed officer asked for her ID.

She then called Webster Police Chief Dennis Kohlmeier to complain and put him on the phone with the henpecked police officer, the footage shows.

Despite the prosecutor’s tantrum, she was issued the traffic ticket and ultimately paid off the fine — but the explosive video went viral and prompted a flood of calls for her resignation.

“Once I realized that the intention of the [police car] was to pull me over, I called the Webster Police Chief to inform him that I was not a threat and that I would speak to the Officer at my house down the street,” she said in a statement.

Despite the little-too-late mea culpa, the on-video tirade didn’t go unnoticed by the Rochester City Council, which unanimously wrote to state Attorney General Letitia James asking that Doorley be investigated.

The attorney general’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Sunday.

‘Midtown Jane Doe’ finally ID’d — thanks partly to eerie twist — 20 years after remains found in cement at former NYC hot spot(NYPost.com)

NYPD detectives have finally ID’d the remains of a woman found mysteriously entombed in cement at a former famed Hell’s Kitchen hot spot 20 years ago — and they were eerily helped along by a 9/11 victim.

Cops believe that the woman — who had only been known as “Midtown Jane Doe” after her skeleton was found by construction workers at 301 W. 46th St. in Manhattan in February 2003 — is Patricia Kathleen McGlone, a teen girl from Sunset Park, Brooklyn, who was last seen in the late 1960s.

Detective Ryan Glas of the NYPD’s Cold Case Squad finally got a positive ID on McGlone after years of exhaustive old-school gum-shoe detective work coupled with the high-tech forensic and genealogical investigative toiling of the Police Department’s Crime Lab, including some involving the DNA of a woman killed on Sept. 11, 2001 — and whose first name also was Patricia.

“Now we can start the next phase of the investigation — finding the killer,” Glas recently told The Post of the case, which had once shaken the city, frustrated stymied investigators and grabbed tabloid headlines across the Big Apple.

“The work is incredibly rewarding,” added the cop, who spent seven years as a detective in the Sixth Precinct before being transferred to the NYPD Cold Case Squad, where he said he always wanted to be.

“Everyone is someone’s child. We have to bring closure,” he said.

McGlone was between 17 and 19 years old when investigators believe she was fatally strangled, bound with electrical wire, wrapped in a carpet and then cemented into the building’s basement, which was once home to the mob-tied rock ‘n’ roll club The Scene, a joint that hosted the likes of Jimi Hendrix and the Velvet Underground before closing in 1969.

McGlone’s body was discovered when construction workers broke up a slab of cement in the building’s basement and her skull rolled out onto the floor.

Inside the makeshift tomb was a wristwatch, some children’s toys and a signet ring bearing the initials PMcG.

But the department’s investigation into the macabre find — which was splashed across the pages of The Post in 2003 — soon ran aground given the limited forensics technology of the day, an ongoing soaring city homicide rate and a myriad of dead ends in the case.

Then eventually, as technology related to DNA sampling advanced — along with the increased popularity of familial and genealogical tracking that came with it — cops were able to use a bit of genetic material pulled from the woman’s skeleton to get a possible hit on her family tree.

“We used forensic investigative genealogy to produce that family tree under the Forensics Investigations Divisions at the NYPD Crime Lab,” Glas said. “That hit came back in early 2023.”

Glas and his team then set to work interviewing people in the family tree. All leads on the paternal side came up dry, but after turning to the maternal side, investigators found a 90-year-old woman in Florida who turned out to be a distant cousin of Midtown Jane Doe.

The woman recalled her sister babysitting some young cousins back when she lived in Brooklyn — and DNA testing suggested that one of them was Midtown Jane.

Glas said he was able to help confirm the identification using DNA samples from a woman who died on 9/11.

DNA submitted by family members hoping to find the female 9/11 victim’s remains in the Manhattan rubble turned out to be related to Midtown Jane Doe.

“The investigative genetic genealogy used [from her skeleton] is only a lead — Jane Doe was identified through her distant genetic relatives,” Glas said.

Another DNA-driven lead turned up who investigators believed were Midtown Jane Doe’s parents, and armed with that information, they identified the body as McGlone.

Glas set to work combing through public and Brooklyn church records to then piece together the short life of McGlone, who grew up in a house on Third Avenue in Sunset Park, attended Catholic school and then public high school for a mere eight days before marrying a man in his early 30s around 1968 or ’69 and disappearing.

Now that detectives have a name, they’ve gotten to work trying to identify McGlone’s killer.

Glas said the teen’s mystery husband was linked to the Hell’s Kitchen building where her body was found.

“We’re still working on getting information on him, trying to verify what his situation was with her,” Glas said. “At this point in the investigation, what I can say is, he does have a connection to where she was found.”

Glas said investigators instrumental to the tragic woman’s identification included: Lt. Michael Saccone, the commanding officer of the Cold Case Squad; retired Detectives Gerard Gardiner and Robert Hahn; the NYPD Police Laboratory’s Forensic Investigations Division genealogist, Linda Doyle; Detective Joey Rodriguez and criminalist Sarah Sciortino, as well as city Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Dr. Angela Soler and the Assistant Director of the Anthropology Unit Director Dr. Bradley Adams.

The investigation continues under the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Siobahn Berry of its Investigations Bureau and Forensic Sciences Cold Case Unit Chief Coleen Balbert.

The school administration, which has been slammed for repeatedly bowing to protesters, said that negotiations with the students are moving forward despite the Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine group claiming that the university was threatening to lay down the hammer.

“We want to be clear: There is no truth to claims of an impending lockdown or evictions on campus,” the administration said in a statement Saturday night.

Thee SJP accused the university of changing its tune under pressure after having planned the lockdown and evictions. The group claimed Columbia scheduled a briefing that was meant to allegedly announce the warning on Saturday night.

“We will not be deterred by an administration that continues to threaten students & engage in bad faith,” the SJP said.

Following the administration’s latest promise not to crack down on the demonstrations, protesters could be seen celebrating and carrying on with songs and chants at the encampment in the Manhattan campus on Sunday.

The protesters appeared to be in it for the long-haul after already more than a week of demonstrations, with students seen handing out bags of chips, fresh pasta, fried chicken, and even offering vegan and Kosher options.

One Jewish student at the protest, who identified himself as Jared, 26, said he stands alongside the demonstrators because he believes “Jewish safety requires Palestinian liberation.”

“We don’t feel safer if there is a government full of violent people that claim to do things on our behalf that commit atrocities,” Jared said of the war in Gaza.

Jared, who said he had to explain to his grandparents that he didn’t not support Hamas nor did they fund the protest. He also noted there are many Jewish students who were suspended for taking part in the protest.

Although the protesters received backlash last week following antisemitic chants heard resonating in the camp, Jared suggested the university was also guilty of antisemitism.

“For a university that is suppressing and trying to silence dissent, claiming to do it out of the interest of Jewish students, they’re certainly suspending a lot of Jewish students for participating,” Jared added.

The length of the protest is also seeing students share the showers and laundry facilities at their dorms with suspended students who lost access to the buildings.

“Everyone is pretty gross,” one student told The Post of the protesters’ hygiene.

Some of the protesters also appeared to tout the fact that they were arrested during the initial police raid on the campus that unsuccessfully sought to clear out the tents.

The students appeared more organized than in the first days of the chaotic protest, with security made up of students and some faculty stationed around the gate to keep out non-demonstrators, as well as “Zionists.”

Reporters and photographers were also being kept away from the protesters because they might not feel “comfortable.”

The students have repeatedly stated that they will not leave the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” until the university meets their demands to divest from Israel and grant amnesty to the students who have been arrested, suspended or put on probation over the protests.

Columbia President Minouche Shafik has been repeatedly slammed for failing to quell the protest, with Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan becoming the latest figure to demand action from the college.

“When thousands of Columbia faculty, staff and students call for the elimination of the State of Israel and the abolition of Zionism, you must take a stand,” Dayan wrote in a letter published on X.

Dayan likened the protesters to the Ku Klux Klan and urged Shafik to put an end to the demonstration, saying the ongoing protest serves no purpose at the Ivy League college.

“A great moral conflict was delivered to your doorstep,” Dayan added. “Rise to the occasion. Lead with moral principles, not only administrative regulations. Speak up.”

If you’re upset that New York’s top court tossed Harvey Weinstein’s sex-crimes conviction, blame state Sen. Mike Gianaris.

The Queens Democrat and his progressive allies engineered the elevation of Rowan Wilson to the chief judgeship; after two other members of the Court of Appeals recused themselves in this case, Wilson chose the two “pinch-hitter” judges — and all three joined another lefty in issuing the 4-3 ruling that rewrote New York law to force a Weinstein retrial.

The state for a century had allowed prosecutors to bring witnesses to testify to the accused’s behavior in incidents not charged in the indictment, as the prosecution did in Weinstein’s trial; Wilson & Co. decided that’s unfair — so Harvey may walk.

His lawyers will likely use the NY decision to contest his California conviction on similar crimes.

And this is exactly the kind of result that Gianaris, state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal and their cabal said they wanted in the drama that led to Wilson’s elevation.

Gov. Hochul’s initial choice, Judge Hector LaSalle, was too centrist for them; they insisted on a new chief judge who’d be sympathetic to progressive causes — which absolutely includes, though they didn’t spell it out then, creating new rights for accused criminals.

And so they orchestrated the assassination of the LaSalle nomination.

Hochul then opted for a risky “compromise” that included putting LaSalle in the top slot.

Yes, we were most focused on the implications for Gianaris & Co.’s gerrymandering drive — which the move indeed enabled; we guess we should’ve spoken up more about the other implications of the court-stacking move.

But the fact remains: This is likely only the first in a long string of Wilson-led decisions that will outrage most New Yorkers, writing the most outrageous progressive ideas into state law without the progs having to actually line up the votes in the Legislature to pass it.

The only way to start reversing the damage is to hold all elected Democrats to account for enabling the prog extreme — and vote every possible one out of office, starting this November.

The world’s oldest known wild bird may have lost her mate, but she was recently seen courting new suitors.

The Laysan albatross, or mōlī, known as Wisdom has been photographed dancing with potential mates at the Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge in the North Pacific Ocean, according to SWNS, the British news service.

The seabird is recognized by her well-known band number Z333.

She is thought to be around 72 years old.

Wisdom has been seen only sporadically since arriving for nesting season in late November, according to reports.

In March, she was spotted socializing with male birds.

Her long-time mate, Akeakamai, has yet to be seen this season, and he was not seen during the last two nesting seasons, either, according to SWNS.

Mōlī females lay a single egg in the first half of December, said Jonathan Plissner, supervisory wildlife biologist at the national wildlife refuge. (They lay only one egg per year.)

Yet that didn’t stop the 72-year-old Wisdom from participating in mating dances last month with a few suitors.

“She was still actively courting other birds in March,” Plissner told the US Fish and Wildlife Service. “She is quite spry for a septuagenarian.”

Biologists first identified and banded Wisdom in 1956 after she laid an egg. The large seabirds aren’t known to breed before age five.

It is estimated that Wisdom has produced 50 to 60 eggs and as many as 30 chicks that fledged in her lifetime, according to Plissner.

Each year, millions of seabirds return to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge in the North Pacific Ocean to nest and raise their young.

It’s a sanctuary for millions of “seabirds, shorebirds and various marine life who all call the island home,” according to the refuge’s website.

“The purpose of Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge and Battle of Midway National Memorial is to serve as a refuge and breeding ground for migratory birds, monk seals, sea turtles and other wildlife, while also protecting cultural resources from the Commercial Pacific Cable Company to the historic Battle of Midway,” the site also notes.

Several years ago, Fox News Digital reported that when not laying eggs, Wisdom spends 90% of her time at sea, feeding on squid and fish eggs.

“In the past, many albatrosses were banded with aluminum bands that sometimes became corroded by sand and salt water. These early bands would often fall off in 20 years or less,” the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said in 2018.

But the same is not true for Wisdom, who was reportedly first banded by a biologist named Chandler Robbins in 1956. Experts have replaced Wisdom’s bands over the years.

The Laysan albatross, known as mōlī in Hawaiian, is a long-living seabird that pairs for life with a single mate, Live Science reported.

“The birds are named after a breeding colony of 145,000 pairs on Laysan, one of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands located 930 miles northwest of Honolulu.”

Anti-Israeli protesters at Harvard University flew a Palestinian flag at the Ivy League school in a spot usually reserved for the American flag as campus demonstrations continue to spiral out of control.

The shocking display on Saturday came as radical students continued to occupy the campus, with video circulating online showing three students raising the Palestinian flag over the iconic statue of John Harvard — where the Stars & Stripes are intended to fly.

According to The Harvard Crimson, the flag-raising incident took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. In total three flags were hoisted at the campus, the report said.

A spokesperson for the university said the students’ actions violated Harvard’s policy.

“The flags raised by protesters over University Hall were removed by Harvard facilities staff,” the spokesperson told The Post. “The actions are a violation of University policy and the individuals involved will be subject to disciplinary action.”

But online users had even stronger reactions.

“These pro-Hamas protesters’ sole agenda is to eradicate every western value and every basic human right while establishing an Islamic Sharia law regime,” X user Mor Hogeg posted Sunday.

“They are starting with the Jews in Israel as their main objective and will continue with the entire west,” he wrote. “It is not a fight of Israel against Hamas – the fight is between a culture of life and a culture of death. WAKE UP!”

Another user called for armed intervention.

“This is where the National Guard needs to be called in,” Mark Isaacson wrote. “On the other hand, with our representatives in congress waving Ukrainian flags, it’s not as if these young people have great role models.”

The Crimson said the flag pole at the Harvard statue typically flies the American flag but has also had the flags of visiting foreign dignitaries displayed when they come by the campus.

The outlet said there was no US flag flying at the time of Saturday’s incident, and said the Stars & Stripes is typically hoisted at 7 a.m. from Monday through Friday and lowered at 4 p.m. “for proper storage.”

The hoisting of the Palestinian flag came as anti-Israeli students encamped on the school grounds chanted and cheered, “Free, free Palestine,” and “We flay for Palestine.”

Similar scenes have played out at college campuses throughout the US, including Columbia University in the Big Apple and other Ivy League universities.

The demonstrations were sparked by Israel’s counteroffensive in response to a sneak attack on the Jewish State by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7 that left more than 1,000 Israelis dead.

According to the Harvard Crimson, university staffers pulled down the Palestinian flag shortly after it was run up the flagpole on Saturday, as students jeered at them.

Hand it to that protester at George Washington University for making the real “pro-Palestine” agenda clear, by carrying a big sign with the Palestinian flag and the words “FINAL SOLUTION.”

That fits neatly with Columbia protest leader Khymani James’ “Zionists don’t deserve to live” and “Be grateful that I’m not just going out and murdering Zionists” rhetoric (which, yes, he’s apologized for — after it went viral).

And with the Columbia protester’s sign suggesting that counter-demonstrators waving an Israel flag would be “Al-Qasam’s next target.”

And with another Columbia genius screaming “Go back to Poland! Go back to Belarus!” at pro-Israel counter-protesters. (And with the mob’s “Burn Tel Aviv” chants.)

And, of course, with Hamas’ stated “river to the sea” agenda of rendering all Israel judenrein — and with the stated goal of Hamas’ masters in Tehran of finishing off Adolf Hitler’s work.

Yes, protesters all across the nation generally claim to simply oppose Israel’s (utterly nonexistent) “genocide” of Palestinians, though some of the kids admit they’re not really clear on any of the actual facts or even what, say, “intifada” actually means.

But the fact is that this movement kicked off within hours of Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror attack on rave-goers and other total innocents in Israel, with rally posters highlighting the terrorists paragliders and Western cheerleaders (including many faculty at Columbia and other US universities) praising the atrocities — days before Israel went into Gaza aiming to stomp out the terror network and rescue the hundreds of hostages.

And early rallies featured ample antisemitism — verbal and physical attacks on visible Jews.

Fine, the tents only went up months into the war, but the main “news” that prompted them is just the news media’s constant relaying of Hamas’ claims of Gazan deaths (figures that are blatantly made up), sadly amplified by Team Biden’s baseless, politically motivated talk of Israeli “excesses.”

Israel’s war is entirely just; the protest movement consists entirely of the malevolent and the idiotic: Nazi equivalents and their enablers.

And it’s the ones who know what they’re doing who are calling all the shots.

An FDNY firefighter has died of a heart attack just months after he was fired as part of the city’s effort to free up funds for its migrant crisis — leaving his grieving widow and kids struggling to keep a roof over their heads.

Derek Floyd, 36, suffered cardiac arrest and passed away April 15, four months after the city gave him the boot as part of a larger effort to pare down staff and pay for housing and services for the tens of thousands of migrants flooding the Big Apple.

Floyd was one of about 10 Fire Department employees who had been on “long term duty” — either injured on the job and given office work or out sick for an extended period — and fired weeks before Christmas, FDNY sources told The Post.

Floyd, a veteran who served three tours in the Middle East with the Marines, had been among those working a desk job — toiling in the Fire Department chaplain’s office — because he had suffered another heart attack in 2019 while he was in the Fire Academy.

In the chaplain’s office, the firefighter, who was on modified duty, helped arrange the funerals of fallen FDNY members.

The married dad of two young children was trying to become medically cleared to re-enter the fire-fighting force before he was fired.

Floyd had been just shy of vesting additional medical benefits for his family and more than $600,000 worth of death benefits when he was booted, now leaving his family with nothing despite his years of service.

“I wouldn’t wish it on anyone,” Floyd’s 34-year-old widow Cristine told The Post of the family’s experience.

“I think it definitely took a toll once they let him go,” she said of her husband’s firing. “He always tried to, like, stay positive about it, and he wasn’t really angry.

“But you see a person, and the wheels are turning in their brain where they’re just constantly thinking, so I definitely think it did affect us.”

After Floyd was fired, he found a job with a non-profit that helps veterans, but the pay was a fraction of what he made with the FDNY, the benefits were limited, and the hours prevented him from spending time with their kids, a 6-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl.

“He used to be so present for, like, our kids and stuff,” Cristine said. “Being a firefighter was something he was really passionate about. He was really a big-time, like, family person, he was all about his kids.

“If Derek would have stayed on, he would have had a life insurance policy with the FDNY,” the widow said. “That would have helped out financially because right now, it’s really bad. I’m honestly swimming in a lot of debt.”

Floyd’s firing was part of City Hall’s plan to slash the FDNY budget by $74 million by the end of 2025 to make way for migrant spending.

It is unclear how many “long-term duty” staff will ultimately be let go as part of the effort, but there are typically between 800 to 1,000 designated individuals at any given time.

Also facing cuts is the NYPD, which is to have its budget slashed by $132 million through the axing of five upcoming Police Academy classes.

The city Department of Education will lose about $547 million, too, and the Department of Sanitation will have its budget cut by $32 million.

Floyd’s firing — and the circumstances that have now befallen his family since his death because of it — have left some outraged.

“What disturbs me the most is that the FDNY is understaffed by hundreds of firefighters. Terminating [Floyd] was absolutely unnecessary,” Uniformed Firefighter Association President Andrew Ansbro told The Post.

“He had an important job, and the FDNY actually needed him in that unit. He was terminated so the department could prove that they were making cuts. He deserved better,” Ansbro added.

Cristine said that watching her husband struggle to make ends meet while being present with his family after the firing was the worst part of everything they’ve experienced.

“I really, really loved him, and so it was hard,” she said.

“We are heartbroken over the passing of former Probationary Firefighter Derek Floyd, and will explore all financial, legal and legislative options to help his family and ensure they have the support they need during this time,” said Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh.

A hotel in one of New York City’s trendiest neighborhoods has been quietly converted into emergency housing for migrants for the past several months.

Mayor Eric Adams’ administration has recently awarded a $12.3 million emergency contract to a not-for-profit social service provider to run a “city sanctuary facility for families with children” at 235 Meeker Avenue in Williamsburg — the address of the Hotel Le Jolie.

The Department of Homeless Services issued the contract to the Brooklyn-based St. P.A.U.L.S. Inc. to manage the facility.

Hotel Le Jolie was converted into a shelter for migrant families sometime last year, on a temporary basis.

“They are having St. P.A.U.L.S. take over the operation. Nothing functionally changes,” a source familiar with the shelter operation said over the weekend.

The source said DHS was using temporary staff at the site and hoped the not-for-profit group would provide better services for migrant families.

A person answering the phone at the location claimed the hotel was closed for “renovations” when asked if it had rooms available for tourists.

On the hotel’s Facebook page, a visitor asked last November, “Is the Hotel Le Jolie closed or still open for business?”

There was no reply.

The hotel staff’s last replies to reviews on Tripadvisor for the 55-room boutique accommodations were posted in April of last year.

When asked about the new contract for migrants staying at the Hotel Le Jolie, a Department of Homeless Services spokesperson said, “This is not a new site – has been open for quite some time.”

The Post reached out to Hotel Le Jolie management and St. P.A.U.L.S. for comment.

The migrant crisis has been a boon for Big Apple hotels still hurting from the loss of tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 100 hotels have agreed to convert into emergency shelters for migrant families and individuals who have flooded the city from the southern border — with the government footing the bill for the rooms.

In January, the Adams administration inked a new emergency $76.69 million contract with the Hotel Association of New York City to provide “last resort” shelter to migrant families.

Under the contract, 15 hotels in Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx will make blocks of rooms available to asylum-seeking families for up to 28 days under the “vouchering program” running through July.

The Post reported last September that the city extended contracts with the hotel association for three years at a staggering price tag of $1.3 billion — nearly five times the original $275 million deal — just to pay rental fees to the vast network of hotels converted into emergency shelters.

Adams has moved to curb mushrooming migrant costs by setting 30- and 60-day shelter stay limits for individuals and families, respectively.

Nearly 200,000 migrants have arrived in the Big Apple since spring 2022, overwhelming the city’s shelter population and forcing DHS to rely on hotels and to set up massive tent cities in Floyd Bennett Field, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center and on the grounds of Kennedy Airport.

New York City is forking out an average of $387 per day to put up a single migrant household in taxpayer-funded shelters, recent data from City Hall shows.

City Hall claimed the costs to combat the migrant migrant crisis could hit $10 billion through the next fiscal year.

The recently approved state budget provides the city $2.4 billion to help cover migrant costs while the federal government has provided little financial support.

But in a February phone call to supporters, DeSantis said that some Trump campaign staffers had an ax to grind against him while claiming the criminal indictments against the former president helped him curry sympathy from primary voters.

He also asserted Trump, 77, would focus on “identity politics” when picking a running mate.

DeSantis has previously said he was not interested in serving as vice president to Trump.

The meeting between the pair on Sunday was first reported by the Washington Post.

The men spoke for several hours and were friendly after a mutual friend of theirs, Florida real estate investor and developer Steve Witkoff, set up the meeting, the newspaper reported.

The pair hadn’t spoken since the end of primary season, according to the Washington Post.

The meeting comes as Trump is on trial in Manhattan over an alleged hush money arrangement dating back to the 2016 presidential campaign.

The upstate New York district attorney who berated a cop after she was caught speeding was referred by Gov. Kathy Hochul to a state commission tasked with investigating prosecutors’ conduct on Sunday.

Hochul said she requested the Commission for Prosecutorial Conduct review the incident after bodycam footage on Friday showed Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley ignoring a Webster, New York cop who tried to pull her over and instead continuing to drive until she reached her house.

Doorley called the officer, who had pursued her to her home, an “a–hole” and dialed the local police chief to complain after they both stepped out of their respective vehicles at her address, the footage shows.

The interaction occurred on Monday and ended with Doorley getting written up for a speeding ticket. She pleaded guilty to the traffic infraction a day later before the damning footage came to light.

Hochul called Doorley’s behavior unprofessional and accused her of trying to claim she was above the law.

“District Attorneys are responsible for prosecuting criminal and traffic offenses, and must perform their duties with the highest ethical standards,” the governor said in a statement to The Post.

“Earlier today, I referred the Monroe County District Attorney to the Commission on Prosecutorial Conduct following the release of police bodycam footage showing her claiming she is above the law, attempting to use her public office to evade responsibility, and acting unprofessionally towards a police officer simply trying to do his job.

“We are deeply grateful to the men and women of law enforcement who put on a uniform each day to protect the safety of all New Yorkers.”

The commission, made up of 10 members, was created in 2021 to act as an independent entity that probes conduct in district attorney’s offices and strengthens oversight for prosecutors to ensure they are held to high ethical standards.

The commission has the authority to review and investigate prosecutors’ conduct to determine if their actions violate state laws or court rules, according to its website.

Doorley, ironically, lobbied against the legislation that established the commission when she served as president of the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York in 2021, according to NY1.

The bodycam video, obtained by location outlets, shows the district attorney admitting she was driving 55 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone on her way home. She also dropped the fact she was the district attorney in Monroe multiple times.

“Why are you so upset at me?” the cop asked her in the clip. “I’m doing my job.”

Seconds later she can be heard on the phone with Webster Chief of Police Dennis Kohlmeier and asks him, “Can you please tell them to leave me alone?”

The district attorney also ignored and rudely dismissed the officer’s repeated commands, the footage shows.

“You know what I’ve been dealing with all day? Three murders in the city,” she said at one point. “And do you think I really care if I was going 20 miles over the speed limit?”

Doorley also encouraged the officer to write the ticket because she said her office would be prosecuting it.

Since Friday’s fall-out over the video, the Rochester City Council has sent a letter to Attorney General Letitia James asking her to investigate the incident.

Doorley also wiped her social media accounts clean over the weekend as fury grew over her conduct.

After the footage surfaced, the prosecutor said in a statement, “Nobody, including your District Attorney, is above the rule of law, even traffic laws.”

One New Yorker learned the hard way that waving an American flag on a college campus is the fastest way to make enemies these days.

Ami Horowitz, a self-described “guerrilla journalist,” said he was beaten, headbutted and punched by an angry mob of anti-Israel protesters on the uptown campus of CUNY’s City College of New York on Friday.

The aggressive reception came after Horowitz claimed to have shown up to the pro-Palestinian encampment armed only with an American flag.

His cameraman caught the wild four-minute melee on video, but the footage does not show what led up to the brawl.

“I was violently attacked by more than a dozen people for carrying a flag,” he exclusively told The Post.

“There was no commentary, no questions. I didn’t say a word and they just descended on me.”

The filmmaker’s videos exposing “indoctrination” in higher education often go viral, including his shocking December video from San Francisco State University reportedly revealing college kids pledging money to kill Jews.

Horowitz said his goal at CUNY was to expose the level of hate festering within the encampments but he got more than he bargained for after he was allegedly assaulted by competing sets of “mobs.”

“I had no idea it would get so violent so quickly,” he said.

Though he never said a word about Israel or identified himself as Jewish, Horowitz, who was repeatedly told to “Get the f–k out of here,” admitted he was “scared,” adding that the “adrenaline was super kicked in.”

He’s heard on video saying, “I’m an American, I want to go to campus,” as he’s told, “You can go to hell.”

Chalking up the protests to anti-Israel ideology alone is naive, he said, noting that the connection between anti-Israel and anti-American sentiment has never been clearer.

“If you Venn diagram those who hate America and Israel, it’s the same exact circle. It’s the same side of the same coin – that’s how clear the connection is,” he said.

While many who surrounded him were fresh-faced students, Horowitz noted older participants, including an apparent imam draped in white who’s shown in the video punching him in the throat.

Others included Arab nationals who didn’t speak English, he said.

While the video showed Horowitz being aggressively removed from the scene by campus police and NYPD in a “tight armlock,” he decried that they were simply following orders from higher officials.

“These violent people are being protected by the city officials. The bigger problem is that they’re being tolerated,” he said.

Blasting the recent Michigan rally that invoked chants “Death to Israel, death to America” and President Biden’s recent “sick moral equivalence” remarks that seemingly excused the aggressive campus agitators, Horowitz said an immediate crackdown is needed to restore order.

“These guys are anti-Israel, anti-American, and they’re being tolerated and coddled by this administration and president,” he said.

“They not only support violence and Hamas in word, they are perpetrating violence in deed, as we saw with me in real time. They all need to be removed now.”

After seeking immediate medical care, Horowitz said he was dealing with a bruised torso.

“These guys knew exactly where to punch,” he said, noting that he took punches to his spleen and kidney, “the two most dangerous places you can punch someone.”

The danger in the protestors “mirroring Karl Marx to a tee” and relitigating capitalism from the last century, is the canary in the coal mine, he added.

“These people are looking for the destruction of our way of life – not Israel, which is just the MacGuffin,” said Horowitz, invoking the Hitchkockian device that uses something as a pretext for the real motivation.

“America and the West is the real issue,” he added.

After leaving the police station without incident, Horowitz ended the video by taking his own swing at the “system” that allows this hate to fester.

“I went to this protest with an American flag on a city college that I and all American taxpayers pay for. And I got my ass kicked – I was punched, I was choked, I was thrown down a flight of stairs,” he said on camera, calling the mob “thugs, animals, outside agitators… who will attack somebody who just walks up with an American flag. Nothing about Israel, nothing about Jews.

“They hate America. They hate this country. That’s what we’re dealing with in this country.”

The Post reached out to the protest organizers and CUNY for comment.
