She’s living the dream — sleeping with folks and charging them per lay.

Welcoming strangers into her bed every night has become a profitable practice for one sexy singleton, who tucks in an extra $600 a month by renting out the unoccupied side of her mattress — where her ex-boyfriend once slept for two years.

Her hot side hustle is part of the “hot bedding” trend.

“Hot bedding is excellent for people who are able to detach emotionally and sleep next to another person in a completely respectful and non-strings-attached manner,” Monique Jeremiah, 36, an entrepreneur from Queensland, Australia, told CatersNews.

And while hot bedding has yet to achieve viral glory on social media, a popular TikTok clip, which garnered over 762,000 views, detailed the monetary benefits, as well as the potential dangers, of the fad.

During lockdown, Jeremiah’s business went belly-up, causing her to think outside the box when it came to earning money.

But Jeremiah says the trend can be an extremely lucrative move — as long as both parties are clear on the terms.

“It takes two people who respect each other’s space, values, and boundaries to do hot bedding,” continued the brunette. “It is just like sharing a room with two beds; however, you only sleep in the same bed together, so you definitely want a big bed and lots of space in the room to make it worthwhile.”

Jeremiah, the founder of Diversity Models — an agency that specializes in providing curvy, cultural, and mature-aged models for businesses — began leasing out her boudoir at the onset of the pandemic as an effort to supplement her income and enjoy some much-needed companionship.

“At the start of COVID in early 2020, I suddenly found myself single,” said Jeremiah. “My thriving business of an international education agency and student accommodation collapsed overnight, and my teaching career suddenly became unfulfilling as education went online.”

Like millions around the world, she was forced to make quick changes to her professional life in order to survive the global health crisis.

While Jeremiah chose hot bedding as her lifesaver, others like NYC engineer Gautier Coiffard, 32, took up bread baking as a means of making more money during lockdown.

Likewise, other creative New Yorkers, such as Lisa Costa of Queens bakery shop Love, Peace, and Dough, began running small businesses from the comforts of their own homes.

In Jeremiah’s case, with her world fast crumbling, the fast thinker made a humbling call for help to her ex.

“My life was literally imploding beyond my control,” she recalled. “I knew my only option was to innovate and think outside the box, and that’s how I decided to do hot bedding.”

“In a moment’s thought,” continued Jeremiah, “I swallowed my pride, contacted my ex-partner, whom I hadn’t spoken to in a year, and said to him, ‘Do you want to survive COVID together?’ And to my surprise, he said, ‘Yes.’”

The bedtime tycoon says she and her former honey have now bedded down together for money twice — and they’re gearing up to hit the sheets yet again.

“He will be sleeping with me again soon,” said the moneymaker, adding that her platonic sleepover prices are going up due to inflation.

“I will be raising the hot bedding rate [to a little over $160 a week, or $640 a month], when he returns,” Jeremiah revealed. “The cost of living has gone up significantly in Australia and my room is still a beautiful, comfortable room, the size of a five-star hotel suite.”

While she realizes that not everyone would be cool with hot bedding, Jeremiah reveres the stream of passive income as a dream job.

“It is the perfect situation, especially if you are a sapiosexual, like myself, and you prefer companionship over the physical,” raved the mattress magnate.

Migrant arrested 6 times for 14 crimes in first two months in NYC

A man who arrived in New York City two months ago from Venezuela has randomly attacked at least three strangers and two cops, and gotten arrested – and released – six times on 14 different charges, police and sources said.

Daniel Hernandez Martinez, 29, arrived on June 27 and allegedly committed his first crime the following day.

“He’s been wreaking havoc,” a cop with more than 20 years on the job said.

“This is not an isolated incident. These migrants are getting arrested quite often here, and we really don’t know who they are. They really don’t have ID. They’re not being vetted properly, but some of them are committing some of the most violent crimes here.”

Immigrant Daniel Hernandez Martinez, 29, told cops he arrived from Venezuela on June 27 and allegedly committed his first crime the following day.

Martinez’s alleged crime spree started at a Costco at 976 Third Ave. in Brooklyn. Martinez stole a jar of Nutella, slippers, sneakers, hats, Gillette razor blades, and Dove body wash. cops said. He was charged with petty larceny and released on his own recognizance.

On July 6 he allegedly hit a Duane Reade in Columbus Circle in Manhattan, this time stealing a “tool kit.”

The next day he escalated from shoplifting to assault, cops said. A security guard at a Duane Reade on West 35th in Manhattan tried to stop him from pilfering a bag of chips and toothpaste.

He “pulled out a large knife and advanced toward an undercover officer” while yelling unintelligibly, court documents show.

Martinez was charged with menacing this time, but again released on his own recognizance because the charge wasn’t bail-eligible.

Martinez has been hit with multiple charges in six arrests since he arrived in the city from Venezuela.

Three weeks later, on July 31, he attacked Jeffrey Bradac, 52, out of the blue with a bike tire in front of the Row Hotel, a migrant shelter in Times Square, according to authorities.

Bradac, an independent journalist who said he was there to document the migrant influx, had previously interviewed Martinez, and was baffled about why he was attacked.

“I did a nice interview with the guy,” said Bradac, who posts his videos about the migrants on social media and has nearly 1 million likes and 48,000 followers on TikTok.

“He hit me with the bike tire and I called police,” Bradac said. “Then, he jumped the Dumpster and a really fit cop ran after him but the guy got away.”

Martinez was arrested about a week later when Bradac, who had filed a criminal complaint, spotted him in front of the hotel again and notified cops stationed there.

On Aug. 21, he violently attacked a woman in Midtown, cops said. He “grabbed a stranger by the hair, dragged her across the floor and kicked her,” and smashed her phone on West 45th Street around 1 a.m., court documents show.

He was charged with menacing, assault, criminal mischief, and weapon possession, and placed on supervised release, according to court records.

Three days later, he was arrested for menacing with a weapon and harassment after threatening a stranger with a chain in front of 701 Eighth Ave., cops said. He was again released with no bail.

Then, four days later, on Aug. 28, he was arrested for using a large metal pipe to break locks to steal bicycles in Times Square, police said. Cops charged him with petty larceny, criminal mischief, and possession of stolen property and burglary tools.

He requested medical attention and was taken to Beth Israel Hospital. While there, he assaulted a police officer who was trying to change his handcuffs, kicking him twice in the shins and stomping on his foot, the records show. He was charged with assaulting a police officer.

Martinez “has been arrested five times in less than two months for charges of harm nearly every time,” ADA Jared Hotchkiss wrote in a bail application. He also pointed out that Martinez has an open case in Brooklyn – a sixth arrest – for petty larceny on which three bench warrants have been issued because he didn’t show up for court.

Prosecutors requested $10,000 bail and $10,000 bond for the cop assault case, but the judge set bail at $5,000 and Martinez was sent to Rikers Island.

The U.S. State Department, Venezuelan consulate, and Homeland Security didn’t answer questions about Martinez’s criminal history in Venezuela or how he made it into the U.S.

Food and fuel are running low for the tens of thousands of attendees (and tech bros) trapped at the Burning Man festival located in one of the harshest environments on earth (high desert, on a dried-up alkaline lake bed) in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. The situation deteriorated early Saturday when a rainstorm drenched the lake bed, transforming the area into a 'mudpocalypse.'

Since early Saturday, all entry and exit points of the Burning Man festival remained closed due to the thick, alkaline mud. As of 0900 ET Sunday, event organizers said, "The gate and airport in and out of Black Rock City remain closed. Ingress and egress are halted until further notice. No driving is permitted except emergency vehicles."

The Independent confirmed local officials had reported at least one death but have not released details on the suspected cause of death.
