Unlikely. His writings show he has a great appreciation for the role of religion in a covenant community, so even if he's not a full believe he is most assuredly not a fedora-tipper.

Yeah. He's either a theist or an agnostic that very much appreciates religion.

Skip to 0:37 of vid related. He describes himself as an agnostic, but sees the importance of religion, which I think most conservative atheists/agnostics do as well.

That's not a permanent shift of the zeitgeist though, it's a secondary effect of government expansion. The state and the pseudo-worship thereof has crowded out traditional religion in the market, replacing it with a rootless civic religion in which people pray at the ballot box and receive gibs as form of answer.

Well, at least one religion is capable of actually giving material results and not just collect them, even if it turns out to be a fraud in the end:^)

> is he an atheist?

He's mentioned in the past that both he and Rothbard were agnostics (which helped them get along very quickly). That's not to say he has no appreciation for the results of religion within society but ultimately it's clear that he himself doesn't really believe in religion.
