Being the leaf that I am and in disbelief that I've been living in a communist country this entire time, and with wuflu shutting down the country I've found myself looking at weapons and getting my gun licence recently. There any leafs out there that could direct me to somewhere I could buy a decent knife?

Did you even read the thread? I'm asking about knives. Not guns. That I can buy IN Canada.

You guys can't even buy knives? Even here we can buy knives from the average tools/hunting shop without any license. I personally go with mora knives. I also just searched "survival gear shops canada" and I found over a dozen e-shops that sell knives. I looked at their policies and didn't find any license requirements. Why don't you simply buy from those?

Canada has a lot of weird, intentionally vague weapon laws. We can have knives, just not allowed to carry them for anything other than a tool? I live in a country where I'd get in trouble brandishing a knife if someone broke into my house. It's beyond bizarre.

I asked here because most of the surplus stores near my home sell Chinese mystery steel grade knives.

I could order online, but we just pay a fuckton more because the loonie is so weak. Most of the time you're overpaying for shipping here. Canada has the worst postal systems. They gouge you for every penny.

I'll try Mora, those were one of the brands I was looking at, I ended up buying an american-made Kbar, paid out the ass for it.

please specify the purpose of the knife.

as this is /k i only assume you want it as a weapon, in which case pretty much any cheap kitchen knife will kill someone just as well as some overpriced tactical meme knife. if you want to spend more, get a roll of gaffer tape to attach knife to hand

Our laws are vague here too, same as yours. But who cares, I carry anyway. If you're looking for a quality budget knife, get the mora heavy duty or the mora robust.

Hunting and fishing mainly, I wanted something that could do everything you'd need it to do while on a through hike this summer. Cutting through rope and batoning wood too if need be.
