Can we talk about Halle? I am angry at this faggot for building such nice homemade guns and then just wasting them.
Also while it was clear that he was an idiot, the whole events shows a critical drawback of the Slamfire Shotgun. The whole operation of loading a Slamfire Shotgun seems too fiddly under stress, meanwhile he had a better rate of fire using his civil war era Smith Carbine despite the fact that this one needs percussion caps to fire every single shot. The Smith Carbine also seems to outrange his Slamfire shotgun, despite being more or less the same barrel length.

He did not even testfire those guns, he just winged it and hoped for the best. Slamfire is literally a weapon of one time use, not practical for what he planned. Every load was homemade, he used low power powder and small buckshot pellets, not really a long range load.

after reading the shovel ak47 i had the brilliant idea/thought experiment that "i can do that", but i cant find any prints that include dimensions/tolerances. while looking for that info i started to think about all the other parts that i would theoretically need.
everything seems possible with time and patience. i suspect the most challenging part to produce at home is the barrel. i suspect i would need to modify my lathes tail stock to accept a gun-drill. i would need to buy a gun drill. along with a rifling button and chamber ream. between the lathe, mill, and press i already own everything else seems fairly trivial if i could dig up some dimensional plans. if some sand niggers can do it am i right.
perhaps i should rather attempt this with some sort of pistol first. im going to continue looking for those drawings and try and source a better way to get a barrel. in the mean time please someone let me know if there's something obvious im missing.

Well he planned to shoot up a room full of jews with his Luty, but that is not the point. The point is he fought with the Police and his slamfire shotgun(which is an idea from the 1940s) was outclassed by a fucking percussion cap rifle from 1857.
The ammunition for the Smith Carbine was homemade by the shooter and used the same shitty powder(KNO3+Charcoal) he used in his shotgun shells, had less powder in it(2,4g vs. 5g shell) and the bullet was heavier than the buckshot pellets. Theoretically the pellets should have been able to hit the police cars, but they don't seem to.
I am asking this question, because its easier, cheaper and legally safer to get a percussion cap rifle in most countries in Europe, than it would be to build a slamfire shotgun.

No the shovel ak47 is mostly a meme about making a shitty custom buttstock and receiver to larp about the "simplicity" of your slavshit gun, than it is about actually building a whole weapon.
All the important parts like the barrel, springs and trigger mechanism come from an already finished kit that was produced in a factory. You can't buy such a kit in your location? No shovel ak47 for you! You have the tools, skills and knowledge to make this kit at home? Then you can not just build an AK rifle, but any gun you want.

hey. its me the idiot again. never did find the dimensions on that ak after. just figured id come back with a thanks for the encouragement. im most of the way done an ugly and shitty 1911. not a kit in sight. turns out final fitment to get it to feed proper is the bigger challenge than any spring or barrel.
also a good reminder lesson that between tools, skills and knowledge, that knowledge can be substituted for time

Oldfag here. Not a scam exactly but they did print and reprint a lot of idiotic bullshit for wannabees. This is also true of a lot of the similar publishers that existed in the 70s and 80s–Desert Publications, Loompanics, Delta Group, etc. Back before the Internet if you wanted to know about this stuff, these books and old military manuals were the only source of information, especially if you wanted to do better than The Anarchist's Cookbook.
The books on silencers were full of designs that were just comically bad and seemed to the alert reader to be deliberately ridiculously difficult to build, with pointless design features that made them heavy and almost impossible to maintain or clean. Look at some of Hiram Maxim's stuff from before WWI and you see stamped sheet metal construction almost identical to a modern freeze-plug baffle design. Most of the designs in most of these books are comically, horribly wrong, heavy, and stupid, like something you'd design to entrap people into cutting up an existing firearm to convert its barrel into a vented central spindle (falsely saying this was required to withstand the pressures), putting in tens of hours in a machine shop building something that'd shave off a decibel or two (just enough to get you a trip to Federal Pound Me in the Ass Prison) but which would have zero practical use other than creating a quasi-legal pretext to lock you in an eight by eight cell with half a dozen niggers.
