>A ministerial spokesman said you "can’t be tough on crime if you’re soft on guns; that’s why the Palaszczuk Government will never allow gun laws to be weakened".

Libcucks argue that if it's hard to get a gun license, then it is also hard for a would-be criminal. These retards don't understand however that getting a gun ilegally is piss easy and no "would-be criminal" is ever going to NOT get his hands on a gun just because you made them illegal. I can literally get up right now, drive for 20 minutes to an abandoned school and buy myself a handgun for 600 eurobucks, but I don't, because I'm not a criminal, but if I wanted to be, then gun laws don't affect me, like I said all I have to do is drive to the local gypsy market.

Gun laws aren't about criminals. Gun laws are never about criminals. They're about disarming the average person, and they always have been. If anything, politicians want more gun crime, because then they can crack down further on law-abiding gun-owners.

Queensland is the last bastion of australia having a set of testicles. They have the loosest gun laws in australia (you don't need to go through shitty pistol rego).

Soy-infested cucks in cities can't handle that.

>>681405

Barring a few notable examples like the adler lever shotgat getting bant if it can hold more than five rounds they've stayed roughly the same for a long time. The majority of improvement has been in streamlining the red tape, such as paintball guns no longer requiring a full license to own, and electronic processing being the norm instead of the exception.

Also, I have no fucking idea why permit to acquires (gay as fuck "pwetty pwease polwice lemme have my gun OwO" that gets passed AFTER you pay for it) take more than a week. I remember a few years back the longest it would take is two hours.

There are independent servers that doesn't ban the specific IPs. Vodafone and other companies banned 8ch. Yes, it is legal for them to control the dns things. Aussies don't give a fuck about that and simply switched their IP or use the proxies to bypass the specific bans. It is a good thing that the Aussies are incredibly cynical towards the politicans and other bullshits so because of that the laws cannot be enforced 24/7.

Yep. Monopoly on the use of force. Of course, it also means you have a disarmed & totally pacified population that's increasing disconnected from the armed State, that's going to be completely vulnerable to being overrun by numerically superior enemies (like, say China). The Swiss model, or the classic burger model of "Actually encourage gun ownership & training, and just don't fuck with your population so much they kill you" are really the better way to go.

I would have guessed that the MkIII would be popular. How about other rifles? Can you import second hand rifles that you buy from, say a dealer in the US into Aus if you get the right documentation and certification that the rifles you buy can be proven to be compliant with whatever Category the rifle is in?

You need to be a holder of a cat. B license and show a genuine need or reason for a center fire rifle like for instance a mauser 1896 model in 5.56 which you may import thru an appropriately licensed dealer..

As for obtaining a cat. C or D SLR, unless you are a contracted pig/dog hunter involved in an authorised eradication project then you would simply have no need for such a firearm. Trying to get "hooked up" with a pre-ban SKS on /k/ is not very smart. Long prison terms and hefty fines are the penaty for anyone who breaks our firearms licensing laws in this regard. We take any attempts to circumvent the gun registry very seriously.

That's quite nice; you can't get individual importation of guns here, and all gun importation here has about 6 to 8 reviews by various ministries and agencies. It takes literal months to just get a green light.

Australian Defence Force has grounded its entire fleet of 47 Airbus MRH 90 Taipan helicopters following a recent precautionary landing caused by a tail rotor vibration.

News of the grounding was first reported by The Canberra Times on Wednesday.

The report said an Australian Army MRH 90 was flying from the LHD HMAS Adelaide off the Queensland coast to Brisbane recently when it experienced the vibration, causing it to make a precautionary return to the ship.

“The aircraft captain aborted the mission and returned to HMAS Adelaide for a precautionary landing,” the report said, quoting a Defence spokesman. “No personnel were injured during the incident.”

“While the investigation is underway, the ADF has ceased all MRH-90 flying pending further technical investigation and advice.”

The Navy operates six MRH 90s from the ADF’s larger pool, and regularly rotates aircraft back through the pool for periodical maintenance, most of which is conducted by Airbus at Brisbane Airport or a combined Airbus and Army team at Townsville.

The aircraft are operated by Navy’s 808SQN at Nowra, and Australian Army’s A and B SQNs of 5 Aviation Regiment (5Avn) at Townsville.

The grounding follows an ABC report in June which revealed Project AIR 9000 Phases 2, 4 and 6 which resulted in the acquisition of the MRH 90 in three batches to initially complement and ultimately replace Army’s S-70A-9 Black Hawk and Navy’s Sea King helicopters, remained on the federal government’s Projects of Concern list.

The MRH 90 was originally scheduled to have been declared fully operational (FOC) in 2014, a milestone which, despite improvements in aircraft availability and sustainment in recent years, is still yet to be formally achieved. As a result, Army has been forced to retain about a dozen Black Hawks for the special operations support role some five years beyond their originally planned retirement. The grounding will likely have a significant effect on the ADF’s ability to provide airborne assault and logistics support to the multi-national Exercise Talisman Sabre currently underway off central Queensland.

Question: I know we can't have body armor, because legally the cops have to be able to shoot us at any time or something, but what about other SHTF kit? Can we have NBC suits for example? What other essential gear are we cucked out of for no good reason?

Now that you've mentioned body armor, I've got a stupid idea. What if someone decided to make a shooting steel spinner with said armor coating and all, don't want random bullet fragments wandering around the range and all you had to do was cut it off.

Since I stumbled upon Australia, I must post these. The one with the Aussie flag is missing a mention of Puppetry of the Penis.

Steyr rifle is not suitable for stressful situation.

A member of the elite Special Air Service Regiment says the main rifle used by the Australian army is unsuited for modern combat and could put a soldier in danger.

The soldier, who says he has spent 20 years in the SAS and is on his eighth tour of Afghanistan, says the Steyr rifle is awkward to use when wearing some body armour, has sight problems and is difficult to reload or unblock when under stress. The anonymous special forces warrant officer has a long article on the rifles in this month's edition of the Australian military magazine Contact.

In it, he argues the Steyr should be dumped as the military's main battle weapon. "The Steyr requires a more difficult magazine change under stress as well as diverting the operator's eyes for a longer period while reloading, taking away valuable awareness of what is happening around him," he says.

"The size of the butt on the Steyr is not conducive to good weapon placement into the shoulder, especially with body armour. This affects sight alignment, eye relief, cheek weld and a stable firing position with the weapon in the shoulder."

He warns the rifle, which most Australian troops in Afghanistan use, cannot be switched between the right and left hands easily, which could put a soldier at risk in close combat situations.

"There are a raft of other reasons, however, I will leave it there," he said. "But our soldiers, particularly our infantry, could be far better served with a new, improved, personal primary weapon system."

The Steyr's suitability has been debated fiercely within the Australian Defence Force since its introduction in the mid-1980s and many soldiers have long argued the weapon is too fragile and prone to accidental discharges because of its trigger design.

Australian special forces such as the SAS and commandos refuse to use the Steyr and use the M4 - the rifle of choice for the US Army. The Defence Department has begun a study to replace the Steyr but has not set a date for it to be phased out.

When SAS trooper Ben Roberts-Smith won his Victoria Cross last year, he used a special variant of the Vietnam era M14 rifle to take out a Taliban machinegun nest and attack a compound. The M14 fires a heavier bullet and Afghan veterans say a heavier bullet is more use against a fanatical enemy because of its greater stopping power.
