Sure, why not.
We use the C90-CR, a Spanish made 90mm disposable rocket launcher by Instalaza. It weighs like 4kg and appears to be the closest thing to a modern M72 LAW, as it has enough power to scrape modern armour 500mm RHA according to them. It was purchased in some time early 2010s I think, primarily for use in Afghan.
We bought more in 2014, and they are in use in the French mission in Mali, where our troops are currently deployed. The ones in Mali are HEAT ones, I think, but we also have HEDP models.
It's a neat AT and AV weapon that is adequately light and powerful for modern usage. Something as low calibre as the M72 LAW can't really cut the cloth anymore, so you have to step up a little bit.

Over here we have mixed oponions, but they are known to be dirty rifles made with cheap materials, which resulted in various types of constant malfunctions, like jams, inaccuracy, magazines that stuck, broken firing pins…
The Cetme L was specially bad, the C model was much more robust as well.
They also needed to be perfectcly lubricated al clean, or else they would start giving problems.
If you had to buy one, I'd personally recommend you to choose the model C.

Depends how you look at it. The whole CETME family is a direct descendant of the STG program, roller delayed or not. It's not even like it was different people that were "inspired" by it, it was literally the same people. It's exactly what Nazi Germany would have ended up with given enough time. So depending on what you're looking for when you say "Modernized STG", you can go either way, direct descendant or mechanically inspired.

i made mine using an HMG receiver flat and weldaments back early 2017
all said and done unless you enjoy the process, just buying from MCM will be a better deal
the rifles they're putting out have a good reputation.
the rifle itself is extremely quirky– however if made properly is reliable
a quick rundown of the ugly:
the sights are atrocious. just bad all the way around. the imported kits have the 'fat' front sight post variant– the preferred one because it doesn't bend. but its too fat. it should probably be reduced in size 25-30%. MCM made their own skinny front sight post. the rear sight is like a massive wall with a hole in it. with good lighting, its useable– if annoying. the moment you get near dusk or dawn tho and you can't see a fucking thing. the placement of the bolt hold open makes it basically unusable outside administrative tasks. the rivet your charging handle lever is retained on has a sharp edge and will tear your hand open during reloads and remedial. your mag catch screw will walk out under fire, and induce horrific malfunctions. it must be loctited all the way down– probably why it is slotted in the first place. they can be picky about magazines. the trigger pack is a nightmare to remove– and it is possible to lock the entire firearm up in ways that seem impossible to get out of.
other than that she's pretty fun. handles well, if a little heavy for a 556 rifle. the LC looks like it would be an improvement in every way, although ive never handled one. anything MCM makes with optics options would be an improvement.

That "Spanish Maiden" was designed by Germans who founded HK and put together by retarded spanish monkeys at the lowest possible cost.
Back in the day, when they were cheaper and no AR10 existed– I could see a HK91 clone (never a CETME). Today, when a sub 2 MOA AR10 comes up for $1500, why would you piss the same amount of money away on a POS CETME?
I own two HK 91 clones, both US assembled and quality made clones from German HK parts (unlike CETME trash). I did not pay anywhere near 1500 monies a pop for them (this was many moons ago).
If you are ready to piss away 1500 on one of these POS, then either buy a PTR, or save another 1500 and buy a real HK91. At least when you figure out it is not competitive with current offerings– you will be able to sell it to another collector and recoup your monies or even make a profit. If you actually have to use it, then at least it stands a chance of actually working. In 5 years that CETME won't be worth $600 (barring a semi-auto ban). They are worn out and warmed over mil-surplus trash. Next it and move on.

I'm not trying to derail this thread but I'm sick of people dismissing the STG44's influence on multiple service rifles from the early post-war era, particularly the AK. I get that its action is drastically, if not entirely, different from that of the rifles I believe to be its direct descendents but I don't think that matters. That is because I do not view the action, the caliber, or any of the most commonly cited "innovations" the STG is credited with introducing to the world of military small arms.
In my opinion, the true legacy of the STG44 lies in the construction of its receiver. One can point to at least one other rifle or carbine that had been accepted into service before the STG44 that included one of the supposedly "innovative" features. Intermediate cartridge? Dozens of examples. Select fire plus intermediate cartridge? M1/M3 Carbine. Gas operated piston action? Again, dozens of rifles. Mass production of a design intended to deliver large volumes of fire and issued in quantities intended to equip entire infantry units? The Soviets were on that first with their SMGs. That stamped receiver though? That was the key to making every other innovation possible.
Making a stamped receiver work for an SMG is easy, so easy in fact that literally everyone in WWII was doing so. Making a stamped receiver strong enough to handle the power of a near-rifle like cartridge though? That's so hard it took the Soviets over a decade to get it right and accepted into service despite that being a definitive feature of the AK design from the very start. If anything, the milled AKs prove that the basic design principles of the assault rifle had been technologically feasible but not economically viable. Only the Soviet Union could afford to go full retard and throw virtual slave labor and the weight of a controlled economy behind such am absurdly time intenaive manufacturing process. If not for the stolen German technology and engineers, they would have never been able to have the confidence that a design like the stamped AK would eventually be cheap enough to accept into service as the primary infantry rifle.

There's nothing wrong with being a purist, and I DO love me some H&K… but I just don't see why even bother paying an extra 1500 for a used HK91 when you can get a brand new PTR. PTR uses the same tooling and makes everything to exact spec, so minus the name, it's basically already as H&K as it gets. As far as I would recommend, use that extra cash to buy a comfy carrier from bulletproofme and mags/ammo.
