I'm talking about animals that don't have paws to begin with. Reptiles, fish, amphibians, even fucking arachnids and insects. It just looks weird and wrong.
Is it just an excuse for not being able to draw other types of hands/feet, or is there something more to it? Obviously hybrids are excluded from this.

Looks nothing like a shark.
It's the exact same shit with how furries changed the definition of what a "dragon" is. Now a dragon is a mammalian creature and not a fantasy reptile. Sharks fall under this too as most are canine in appearance.

Dragons have always been a mishmash of different animal parts (like most commonly, bat wings, reptile scales, canine build) and there have always been different interpretations of dragons as well, like the split between Eastern and Western dragons. So it already had a pretty expansive and loose definition.

The issue is that it doesn't look like an anthro shark. It looks like a dog shark hybrid. The head is very canine in appearance. Most of them are like this except with paws added, but true shark anthros exist.
