The draw thread is quite old and needs replacing for a handful of reasons. I'm also not a fan of how request heavy such threads are. How about we try something different? Instead of requesting a piece of art you instead request help making it.
Share what you want to make along with a draft and get help finishing it! This doesn't mean another person will personally pick it up and finish it for you, but help you along with demonstration and/or advice. The final piece doesn't have to be amazing, just a learning experience you can feel good about completing. And if someone likes they could do their own version of the piece (just don't expect it).
Remember to spoiler explicit posts and no lewd cub.

Oh I forgot to link to >>>/furry/ which is sort of like /loomis/ with resources that could help you if you're more than casually interested. That's also a suitable place to get ask for more specific technical help.

i understand what you are trying to do, and why, but what you are really describing is something the art thread already does. i agree that we do need both a new draw thread and a new art thread though, just because a lot of posters from both probably do not use the board anymore.

Maybe. I thought a specific challenge for requestors to pick up a pencil for the first time would be useful. A place where a ton of super casual art is expected vs the anxiety they might feel in the general art space. Of course it's hard to say how many would actually bite for that motive.
Do you have any ideas for loosening people up to do fun art stuff?

As a total scrub that wants to know how to draw and has nothing but time in this virus blasted hellscape I'd be down for it.
Of course the actual number of people left to do it might be a little low.

Can't really help much with drawing, but on a more general art tutoring subject, I'm always down to help anyone learn Blender if anyone's interested.
