昨天穿着拖鞋出门散步，走着走着突然想试试赤脚走路，因为听说澳大利亚人平时都是这么干的。
走路的时候发现自己的前脚掌非常疼，平时有鞋子的缓冲它根本不用承受这么大的压力。我的脚已经变成鞋子的形状了。离开鞋子我已经不能正常地行走了。仔细想一想，明明小时候在家里父母每天都要喊我穿拖鞋，即使冻得脚发凉我也要在父母提醒后才会想起穿鞋，现在每天下床做的第一件事却是找拖鞋，这让人不得不感慨习惯的力量。
走着走着，我又想到了一件事，如果今天我不是穿着拖鞋出门，而是穿着正经的，需要穿着袜子才能穿进去的，包裹着你整只脚的鞋子的话，也许我就不会尝试赤脚走路了。因为脱鞋子很麻烦，脱袜子也很麻烦，这两个动作都很不雅，如果到时候走不动了要把鞋子穿回去就更麻烦了。所以正是因为我今天穿着穿着拖鞋，我才会去尝试赤脚。是拖鞋给了我赤脚走路的自由。
我觉得积极自由无非就是这种东西。尽管穿着鞋子的我也能脱下鞋子，但这种想法一般只会在我脑中一闪而过，也许还没来得及付诸行动就被忘记了。这时候我虽然看似能够赤脚，但我实际上却没有行使这种自由的动力，因此我也就实质上不具备这种自由。有些人整天叽里咕噜地喊着的规训、异化应该就是和这个差不多的东西吧。然后共产党听完后说实现全人类的解放和自由，于是就剥夺了你穿鞋子的权利，命令从今天开始所有人只能穿拖鞋，于是以消极自由为代价，我们得到了积极自由，真正的自由。我们从鞋子的束缚中解放了。
这个模板放在他们的语境下似乎显得很宏大，充满了英雄主义的气概。但如果这么一想的话，似乎又变成了一套有点可笑的东西。没有人会因为想要赤脚走路而流血流泪，如果是为了什么更崇高的价值，更理想的世界的话，也许就会有鲁莽的人开始冒头了。但无论你在和魔鬼的交易中期望着什么，当你把你的自由放上天平作为筹码的时候，你就已经处在深渊的边缘了
