in fact, during WWI (the great war) it was considered 'patriotic' to wear a mask….
EVERYBODY DID IT, because it is a preventative measure

As a popular Books of Adam comic has pointed out, the most difficult thing to reconcile with as a cat owner is the fact that your cat’s butthole has touched pretty much everything you own. Sometimes, your cat will decide to put his or her gnarly hole on your face, completely casually. While it might seem vaguely threatening or confusing, a cat researcher tells Inverse it’s not as weird as you think.
Cat enthusiasts know the feeling. You’ll be sitting down, waiting for your kitty to curl up next to you when all of a sudden they present you with their behind. Sometimes it smells like the litter box, making the whole situation even more unsavory.
But according to cat researcher Mikel Delgado, a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis, cats aren’t trying to gross you out — in fact, they’re trying to be nice.
“For cats, it’s normal for them to sniff each other’s butts as a way to say hello or confirm another cat’s identity,” Delgado tells Inverse. “It’s hard for us to relate to, but for them, smell is much more important to cats and how they recognize each other than vision is. So cats may be ‘inviting’ us to check them out, or just giving us a friendly hello.”
Even long-time cat owners have trouble understanding most of the things their cats do — but the butt situation is probably the most perplexing of all, even if it’s well-intended.
“My cat, Lou, shoves his butt in my face when he’s begging me to scratch his butt (but pretending to ignore me), or when he’s hungry and wants to get my attention,” Inverse’s entertainment reporter Caitlin Busch says. “He’s The Worst and I love him.”
Though cats are definitely evil geniuses, sticking their butts in our faces isn’t actually a sign of aggression. All the other weird stuff they do probably is, though — and we love them for it anyway.

Coronavirus: The 5G conspiracy theory just won't go away - here's why it's nonsense
As a scientifically impossible conspiracy theory linking the deployment of 5G radio antennas to the coronavirus pandemic refuses to go away, Sky News explains why it is nonsense.
According to the conspiracy theories the symptoms of COVID-19 are caused by electromagnetic radiation and not by a virus.
These claims have now been tied to dozens of attacks on telecommunications engineers and masts in the UK, even as information debunking such claims is widespread.
The conspiracy theorists say the coronavirus pandemic is an illness caused by exposure to radio emissions from the new 5G antennas - despite these antennas not being present in countries such as Iran, which has seen a deadly outbreak.
The theory has even been mentioned by This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes, whose comments on 5G were described as "ill-judged" by TV regulator Ofcom.
To support their claim, the theorists have pointed out that these antennas have continued to be deployed during the lockdown in the UK. They ask why network engineers aren't staying at home like everyone else.
This is because mobile network engineers are considered key workers maintaining critical national infrastructure. With so many of us working from home, it is crucial that telecommunications networks are functioning.
Sky News found groups on Facebook calling for the harassment of these engineers and celebrating criminal damage to the masts, with one post claiming "we are being murdered by the world government" - a common trope in conspiracy theories - and stating it is "time to fight or die".
In reality, the risks of electromagnetic radiation are known and understood by scientists, and so the power that telecommunications masts are able to broadcast at is tightly regulated.
Even though these protections are in place, some individuals have reported health problems which they claim are a result of being exposed to levels of radiation beneath these guideline figures.
As the World Health Organisation notes, studies on these individuals have consistently found they can't actually detect electromagnetic radiation any more accurately than individuals who don't claim to have a special sensitivity to it.
The WHO reports there are some indications these symptoms may be due to pre-existing psychiatric conditions, as well as stress reactions as a result of worrying about the health effects of exposure, rather than being exposed.
Even then, the way that 5G could harm the body (which it can't) simply doesn't match the symptoms which COVID-19 patients are experiencing.

How can electromagnetic radiation cause harm?
5G is using a new part of the electromagnetic spectrum, the portion from 22GHz to 86GHz - although much less than this is being used in the UK.
This radiation is incapable of breaking molecular bonds, knocking off electrons from atoms and causing the molecule to have an electric charge - which provoke the main health dangers associated with electromagnetic radiation.
preview image
The conspiracy theorists claim that 5G exposure leads to symptoms including nausea, hair loss, and bone marrow damage - as covered by Full Fact, the UK's independent fact-checking charity - which doesn't match-up with the symptoms of COVID-19.
These are, however, symptoms of radiation sickness, or acute radiation syndrome - almost exactly as would be described if someone performed a web search for "radiation sickness" rather than actually suffered from it.
Even so, radiation sickness cases are almost always tied to huge nuclear incidents, such as the atomic bombings in Japan or the Chernobyl disaster - with rare exceptions, such as the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko.

Narcissistic people are more likely to believe conspiracy theories.
Unfortunately, her research shows that while these beliefs are appealing to people whose psychological needs are not met in some way, they generally fail to fulfill these needs.
"Rather than providing people with a sense of certainty, conspiracy theories seem more likely to take it away and make people feel more uncertain," she says.
Dr Marc Tuters, who researches radical political subcultures online at the University of Amsterdam, told Sky News his team has seen a large number of conspiracy theories connected to the coronavirus pandemic.
These include "the idea that it is a bioweapon, either made by the US or the Chinese; that it's a secret plot by the pharmaceutical industry, and that it's a conspiracy by the 'deep state' against 'the general will of the people'," he says.
Crucially, "all of these theories predate the actual pandemic, and have communities of acolytes and true believers who tend to congregate on various fringe parts of the web", Dr Tuters adds.
"Most conspiracy theories share a core feature that something is being covered up, so the conspiracy theories are not as different as they would appear," Professor Douglas says.
They involve "intense mistrust of governments or outside groups", she says.
"The actors and details differ, but both would appear to satisfy the general idea that authorities and outside groups cannot be trusted and are hiding the truth from the people."

Dr Tuters says the question of whether these people actually believe in the conspiracy theories is less important than the theories being circulated.
"It takes very little effort to circulate information on social media," he adds, noting people can sometimes do so in an ironic fashion or completely authentically - but keep them in circulation all the same.
"In this sense, the circulation of conspiracy theories may be metaphorically a little like the coronavirus itself," he says. "Perhaps many circulate the virus without even realising that they have been infected?"
That said, there are a "host of conspiracy theory entrepreneurs" tied to a particularly prevalent conspiracy theory in the US called QAnon, who have "pivoted to promoting various COVID-19 conspiracy theories as well as cashing in with various snake oil remedies".
The QAnon conspiracy theory has been tied to the far-right in America, suggesting there is a secret plot against President Donald Trump by the "deep state" - a hidden power structure within the elected government.

NARCISSISM & CONSPIRACY THEORIES:
A conspiracy theory refers to an alternative explanation of an event involving a conspirator plot organised by powerful people or organisations. Belief in conspiracy theories is related to negative societal outcomes such as poor medical decisions and a decrease in prosocial behaviour. Given these negative outcomes, researchers have explored predictors of belief in conspiracy theories in an attempt to understand and possibly manage these beliefs. In the current study, we explored the utility of personality in predicting belief in conspiracy theories. The aim of the current study was to explore the utility of the odd beliefs/magical thinking subtype of schizotypy, Machiavellianism, grandiose narcissism, vulnerable narcissism, primary psychopathy, and secondary psychopathy in predicting belief in conspiracy theories. Participants (N = 230; 44.7% male, 55.3% female) completed an anonymous, confidential online questionnaire which comprised demographics and measures of personality traits and belief in conspiracy theories. The total regression model indicated odd beliefs/magical thinking, trait Machiavellianism, and primary psychopathy were significant, positive predictors of belief in conspiracy theories. No other predictors reached significance. Results of the current study highlight individuals who might be more susceptible to believing conspiracy theories. Specifically, these results indicate that the individual more likely to believe in conspiracy theories may have unusual patterns of thinking and cognitions, be strategic and manipulative, and display interpersonal and affective deficits.
Introduction
Conspiracy theories are a subset of false beliefs and generally implicate a malevolent force (e.g., a government body or secret society) involved in orchestrating major events or providing misinformation regarding the details of events to an unwitting public, in part of a plot towards achieving a sinister goal [1]. Although some conspiracy theories may be considered harmless, research has shown that belief in conspiracy theories is associated with negative social, health, and civic outcomes [2], including more acceptance of violent behaviour [3] and a decrease in prosocial behaviour [4].
Researchers theorise that belief in conspiracy theories addresses a need for certainty [5]. Traditional theories of opinion formation also explain these beliefs; specifically, individual predispositions, such as political and conspirator predispositions, have an effect on an individual’s reception of information cues [6]. Various individual differences have been found to predict belief in conspiracy theories, such as education [7], stress [8], boredom proneness and paranoia [9], and personality traits [10]. In the current study, we explore for the first time the utility of trait psychopathy to predict belief in conspiracy theories. Further, we explore the utility of dimensions of narcissism and psychopathy in predicting these beliefs.
Trait schizotypy, characterised by perceptual, cognitive, and affective abnormalities [11], has repeatedly been found to be a strong, positive predictor of beliefs in conspiracy theories [10, 12, 13]. Further, researchers [12] found the primary explanatory component for the relationship between schizotypy and belief in conspiracy theories was odd beliefs/magical thinking, as measured by a subscale in the Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire (SPQ). The tendency for an individual to hold unusual beliefs (i.e., odd beliefs/magical thinking) may explain the adoption of belief in conspiracy theories [12].
Although comparatively limited, research has found the traits of narcissism and Machiavellianism to be positive predictors of belief in conspiracy theories [14, 15]. Characterised by an inflated and grandiose sense of self [16], researchers attribute the relationship between narcissism and belief in conspiracy theories to the tendency for these individuals to perceive themselves as being the centre of attention, and that the actions of others are intentional attacks against them [14]. Trait Machiavellianism is characterised by the tendency to exploit and manipulate other people [17], and researchers posit such individuals may be more likely to believe in government conspiracy theories as they themselves would be likely to conspire if they were in that position of power [15]. Although the relationship between Machiavellianism and belief in conspiracy theories was mediated by ‘willingness to conspire’ [15], this mediation may be questionable due to possible collinearity between the mediator and the outcome variable.

People who believe in conspiracy theories are also more likely to believe in pseudoscience and paranormal phenomena, according to new research published in the journal Applied Cognitive Psychology. The findings indicate that some people appear to have a general susceptibility to believing unsubstantiated claims.
“My main teaching and research focus is on critical thinking. Accepting unsubstantiated claims, such as endorsing false conspiracy theories, psychological misconceptions, paranormal claims, and pseudoscience each represents a failure to think critically,” said study author D. Alan Bensley, a psychology professor at Frostburg State University.
“I have long been interested in why people believe unsubstantiated claims, such as the paranormal belief in ghosts, the conspiracy theory that the 1969 moon landing was a hoax, the psychological misconception that the average person uses only 10% of his or her brain, and the pseudoscience, astrology, claiming that the position of the stars and planets at the moment of your birth determines your future.”
“My second textbook, Critical Thinking in Psychology and Everyday Life is designed to help students, not only to reason effectively about psychological questions but also to correct their misconceptions, reject pseudoscientific and paranormal claims, and recognize false conspiracy theories,” Bensley said.
“To assess learning outcomes related to critical thinking and rejection of unsubstantiated claims, I developed, along with my colleagues, measures of psychological misconceptions, belief in pseudoscience versus evidence-based practices, and measures of conspiracy theory belief.”
“Besides helping us to study the effectiveness of instruction with the critical thinking textbook, these measures have been useful for investigating people’s acceptance of unsubstantiated claims. In this new study, we have used these measures to examine the interesting question of how general is the acceptance of these unsubstantiated claims.”
The researchers surveyed 286 psychology undergraduate students regarding their paranormal beliefs, endorsement of conspiracies, factual knowledge about psychology, and acceptance of pseudoscience.
The participants were asked to indicate how much they agreed with general conspiracist ideas, such as “Technology with mind control capacities is used on people without their knowledge,” and how much they believed in 30 specific conspiracies, such as “Alien ships crashed near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 and the U.S. government has covered it up.”

Across three studies, we examined the role of self-evaluation in predicting conspiracy beliefs.Previous research linked the endorsement of conspiracy theories to low self-esteem. We propose that conspiracy theories should rather be appealing to individuals with exaggerated feelings of self-love, such as narcissists, due to their paranoid tendencies. In Study 1, generalconspiracist beliefs were predicted by high individual narcissism but low self-esteem. Study 2 demonstrated that these effects were differentially mediated by paranoid thoughts, and independent of the effects of collective narcissism.Individual narcissism predicted generalized conspiracist beliefs, regardless of the conspiracy theoriesimplicating in-group or out-group members, while collective narcissism predicted belief in out-group but not in-group conspiracies. Study 3 replicated the effects of individual narcissism and self-esteem on the endorsement of various specific conspiracy theories and demonstrated that the negative effect of self-esteem was largely accounted for by the general negativity toward humans associated with low self-esteem.

Voters in North Carolina have received absentee ballot request forms in the mail with Trump's face on them

No.8429
Given the crisis facing the United States Postal Service before a presidential election, the last thing John Herter expected to receive in the mail Saturday was an absentee ballot request form with President Donald Trump's face on it.
"Is this a joke?" Herter said his wife told him as she opened up the mailer to reveal a photo of Trump grinning underneath the words, "Are you going to let the Democrats silence you? Act now to stand with President Trump."
Herter, of Lincoln County is among a group of voters in North Carolina to receive the mailer over the past few days after Trump said that he opposed crucial USPS funding because he doesn't want to see it used for mail-in voting this November.
During an interview on Fox News last week, Trump said that if USPS does not receive the additional $25 billion funding request that Democrats included in the ongoing stimulus negotiations, then he believes the Post Office won't be able to handle the influx of mail-in ballots in the upcoming election.
The pandemic has led to high levels of voting-by-mail, but the President has tried to restrict this method because he said it is filled with fraud and abuse, claims that have been fact-checked multiple times and which are without merit.
Trump has criticized mail-in voting for months, baselessly asserting that it will lead to voter fraud.
There is not widespread voter fraud in US elections, and nonpartisan experts say neither party automatically benefits when states expand access to mail-in voting.
This is why Chandler Carranza, of Gaston County, North Carolina, said he laughed after receiving the absentee ballot request mailer on Thursday.
"The irony is very thick and definitely not lost on me," Carranza said. "Trump has been saying mail-in ballots will bring fraud to the election but absentee ballots are legit. Which is it? It can't be both ways. I laughed because if the campaign actually took information from other times they have reached out to me, they'd know I won't vote for Trump despite being a registered Republican."
The Trump campaign said the mailer shows how it "is working to ensure voters in every state know how their state's sorting system works so that every eligible voter can cast their ballot and have their vote counted," Thea McDonald, deputy national press secretary, said over email after she was shown the mailer.
"President Trump has consistently and rightly said that where a voter cannot make it to the polls, they should request an absentee ballot," McDonald said. "The President has also correctly distinguished between chaos-ridden universal mail-in voting systems, like the one that led to California's train wreck primary, and traditional absentee mail voting systems, like the tried and true system in North Carolina—a distinction Democrats and many in the mainstream media purposely ignore to sow confusion."
The mailer was sent out by the North Carolina Republican Party, press secretary Tim Wigginton says. The state party has sent several statewide mailers "to make it easier for interested voters to participate," Wigginton said.
"We want our voters to know they can utilize this tool to cast their ballot in an easy, safe and secure manner. It is important to note that the North Carolina system requires a voter to actively solicit a ballot and go through an easy but important verification process to request a ballot," he added. "We along with President Trump oppose an all-mail election process where voters are mailed ballots without a prior request and authentication."
The USPS has come under criticism recently. Newly released letters from the USPS have warned nearly every state that slowdowns in delivery could cause ballots to show up late and not be counted. News organizations also reported that in the last week that USPS has removed letter collection boxes in at least four states: New York, Oregon, Montana and Indiana.
The USPS announced Sunday it would stop removing postal collection boxes through late November following complaints about how some had been taken away.
House Democrats said Sunday they are "ramping up" their investigation of the United States Postal Service and as Democratic leaders, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, called on Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and Chairman of the Postal Service Board of Governors Robert Duncan to testify.

As for your USPS conspiracy, you don't know the half of it. That hellhole bureaucracy has been run like so many other bloated government organizations – poorly. Beyond poorly. It has been fucked for years, and now, with Corona and Amazon, it needs a major restructuring. As for mail-in voting, I'm not gonna argue with you stupid stupid Leftards who know nothing and do not live in a state where it took years to figure out, like they all do. We have a month. No fucking way. This is you and your side wanting an excuse for losing and chimping out, like you're already planning. Good luck to you. Now some of your kids are already forced to have a phone with a special app, and they're forced to connect to a special wi-fi while at school! I'm sure Johnny will approve.
My child will never go back to public school.
I am not alone.
Allowing your children to be treated like slaves is what slaves do.
In other news, today at the grocery store a dumb bitch called in a bunch of males (like they always do) to attempt to enforce mask-wearing conformity on `'Just-Kiss-It'`. She never said a word to me! She just raised a big stink with many customers and management of the store, being a little cunt, talking shit about me loudly in front of me to any man who would listen to her, hoping she could use a man to enforce conformity on another man, like bitches always do. As though I am putting anyone's life in danger by not complying with State law! (In her mind, I am "disobedient", since she has not read the law, nor does she know of my medical conditions or the advice of my doctor.) Yeah, little Toxic Venominity busy-bodies' like this, trying to control the behavior of "others", using other'' men to throw their weight around, at the point of a gun, it's a fucking problem.
>inb4 JN calls me a misogynist again.
If he is too stupid to see where "Toxic Venominity" has destroyed not only Feminism, but femininity itself, then there is nothing I can do for him.
Cunt. Plain and simple. People need to stop trying to enforce conformity on others. Especially when it is stupid, and has no basis in science, at least not the way they are applying the mandate, and certainly not with the shitty masks people wear, and their inability to wear them correctly, and them touching their face every ten seconds… Nope, I won't even bother arguing about that with anyone because they are just plain wrong if they think mask mandates are helpful for anything except a symbol of conformity. It's true, and deep down everyone knows it. The masks are only proof that you are a little slave, that you will conform, and have. They do not protect you or anyone else. You should have seen all the people yelling through their masks and repeating themselves over and over because no one understands them! You could actually see the spittle flying out around their masks as they yelled, not to mention the constant face-touching. You are all conformist fools who know the science is bullshit, but conform anyway.I will not wear a mask.No one can force me to. No one can force you to either. You just don't want to go through the hassle that comes from not complying with, yes, "mob rule". Other conformists will enforce conformity. Slaves hate freedom and they hate those exercising freedom. They will always do the work of their masters, to garner more slaves and enforce more slavery. Think about it. It's just such a simple thing, you say – just wear the mask! Put on the fetters!
How aboutNO.Literally that simple. You should try it sometime. It's very empowering.Just Say NO.
Andlol no, management did not kick me out of the store! Nor do cops around here arrest anyone for disobying our stupid stupid governor's mandate, no matter how loudly whiny bitches moan and complain. I shopped for an hour after that! You see, men are not like whiny little bitches. They understand reality. Real men know that little feefee emotional bullshit outbursts by wannabe controlling little cunts have no place in a world of logic, in a civilized society. But leftists want to destroy society, because they are all a bunch of whiny little faggot cunts who want to control other people's behavior, rather than check their own.
You can tell Wendy I said that.
Tell her I said that Misandry is a worse problem than Misogyny in our world right now too. It is. Respect is earned. Feminism no longer has anyone's respect. It's all man-hating now. Just like all leftists too. They hate the white man.
Now I've said my piece. I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks about my attitude. I will live as a free man.
No cunt of any gender will be my master. I am not a slave.
Are You?
And yes, I realize it will get worse.
Wait until the mandated vaccines!
Wow. We cannot afford Biden.
We will be just like China if we do not stand up right fucking now.

Somewhat curious as to how Johnny will react to this post, but expect nothing less than hate and accusations of stupidity. Can't say I didn't call dumbass conformists stupid too! But I have the benefit of being right this time.
And my mind is my own.

Maybe it really is that simple, but it sure as hell ain't Easy!
Conformity has always been the Easy Path.
Integrity and Honesty Sometimes Demand Non-Conformity.
Difficulties sometimes come with the territory; for those who would dare to not fall prey to fear and false promises of security wrapped in bondage, and would rather lift others along the way toward scaling greater heights of Freedom and Wisdom.

(You) don't know how anything works, and (You) only see the world through your opaque TDS glasses. There really is no reason to explain to anyone like you how elections and mail-in voting on a mass scale actually works… Or, in the case if most states, never has worked; and certainly cannot and will not work now. You just want an excuse for the chimp-out you have planned all along.Fuck the badly run USPS, and fuck your Amazon shipments of shoes. Throwing more money at the greedy USPS Union, revelling in their cushy government jobs, won't do anything to help either. They have no competition, and can't have any real competion by law, and they know it, so they have no reason to improve their badly run business. It's not a Service for anyone but Amazon.
No! Trump is suppressing the vote in Oregon!
Do you know how crazy and paranoid you sound? What a Conspiritard! Do you actually think Trump gives a flying fuck if 10 billion Oregonians turned out voting against him? Would it change anything?
No. You are just being a silly little girl now.
How Dare You!

Public schools in the US are communist indoctrination centers. Pull your kids out and homeschool them or send them to a private school that teaches the traditional way. Kids should not be using 'smartphones' anyway, and NEVER encourage your kids or grandkids to go to college. Parents should never sign off on a student loan for their kids, if the kids don't have any collateral for the insolvent loan they won't be able to get one. Encourage them to join the trade, it's the only productive way to learn a living in AmeriKa these days.

Nigger… or a while (when we didn't know how bad corona would be) I was wearing a P100 respirator, eye protection, gloves and a bio-suit to completely cover the rest of my body. I set up the most strict US Army grade decontamination protocols, better that you'd receive at ANY hospital or governmental center (besides the CDC)! Any packages or products coming into my home (including my own gear) were decontaminated too…… but then the info started to come out…. the REAL info, not the narrative… indications of it being not so bad…. lying narratives being debunked….. some smart people who thought they were correct (like I assumed it was a MAD scenario) turned out to be wrong…. and as we dug into more of the ID 2020 agenda it became more and more clear…. as they started bashing legit mitigation (vitamin C & D and zinc supplements for example) it became VERY clear. The virus is not much worse than a fucking flu. Why all the deaths? They're letting people die in hospitals and labeling everything "corona deaths" to get more government funding! $$$
So if you want to mitigate this literally flu-like bioweapon created in Wuhan with US taxpayer money from the NIH, all you have to do is boost your immune system and don't go out as much as you usually would! That's it! This whole bioweapon was a rubber bullet, it wasn't made to kill us all…. it was made to hurt our society and take away more freedoms. Ask Bill Gates, he'll admit it as he talks!!
