It's another "I wake up feeling empty after having a dream that I had a gf" episode

just fuck my shit up boys, seems like the ride never ends.

Anyway this past week I finally started going to the gym regularly again, before this I was going once a week and felt like crap. I normally make excuses to myself to take rest days but this last week I just went on consecutive days and I never felt better. Sees like if I just went literally every single day I'd feel even better. But if I don't go for just two days then I start feeling like a piece of shit again, anyone else get the same thing?

Exercise helps depression anon, releases brain chemicals and shit. If you can, get someone you can get along with to go to the gym with you that'll help with the motivation

I have nobody, I'm in college with no friends. I have friends at home and I used to work out with them and it was good, but I still felt like shit most of the time anyway. The worst part about today is after the gym I didn't feel anything, normally I feel good but today I just wasn't feeling it. I guess that just happens sometimes though.

Dreams kind of suck though. You wake up happy and realize it's not real and you feel like shit or you end up focusing on daydreaming rather than real life.

>end up focusing on daydreaming rather than real life.

Step 1: stop doing this. People underestimate how bad this is for your well-being. The symptoms that are commonly associated with depression like numbness, brain-fog, and apathy are all exacerbated by "living in your head". Your mind, just like your body, needs exercise. From now on, focus on being present throughout your day. Take a look around you and observe things; catalogue what you observe in your mind. Feel the air on your skin and the way it flows through your body. When you are doing something, anything, narrate it like you're a character in a book. To be present is to escape from the anxiety of the past and future, and it is a healthy form of meditation that doesn't require sitting alone in solitude. It can be done anytime, anywhere. If you diligently practice it, I think you'll find you feel a lot better.

sounds good to me. I'll try doing this. I know you're right about the daydreaming stuff. I waste a lot of my time doing that when I should be doing something else. I do it because it feels nice though but if it's not actually helping me that's no excuse.

Don't underestimate how much other health factors affect mood. Making sure your eating right, getting enough sleep, have other fulfilling hobbies, etc. are huge for general mood. That stuff might be able to be improved.

I eat okay, I'm having exams now and I'm eating a bit of junk honestly. Lately I've been having a lot more water though and I feel better physically. I get somewhat ok sleep but most days I just sleep too much. I have hobbies but I can't do any of them.

My mind just wants to retreat into imagination all the time. I had another dream I was at the park with some friends and a girl I sort of knew sat next to me and put her arm around me. Even though it was time to wake up my mind wanted to keep sleeping
