1. What time does /fit/ prefer their cottage cheese?
2. What size curds? (Ie. Small, medium, large)
3. Liquidy or dry curds?
4. Reduced fat, skim, whole, 2%, 4%
I'll start:
7pm or 2 hours before bed
Medium curds
In between just dry curds and slightly wet
4% fat. Nothing wrong with a little fat, as long as im on a strict diet

Bump.
Nobody /fit/ wants overnight gains?
The theory behind this is that when you are sleeping you're technically fasting and while you're fasting your body still burns calories so the idea is that by having a slow digesting protein in your gut (4-6 hours to digest) your body will instead use the time to rebuild muscle instead of catabolizing other energy sources. Also you wake up way more satiated and especially if you are doing intermittent fasting, morning routines are much smoother but your first meal is way more satisfying.

Legumes provide valuable nutrient unattainable in other foods. Green beans are essential and also easy to pair with with foods in order to create complete proteins.

Keto is great. Been doing it for about 8 of the last ten months did a shit job of keto during November and December, but stuck to my IF and still managed to end up three pounds lighter after the holidays. I've lost at least 75 pounds so far probably more. I started avoiding the scale big time after I got up over 400 lbs without counting calories. I count carbs and that's it. I try not to go crazy with protein, but I don't actually count protein grams or anything. I've only recently decided to start going on walks. All that weight was lost with no exercise. People can bitch about keto being a meme diet all they want, but carb cutting can be traced back to at least Hippocrates, and more importantly, it works.

I'm one of the people who dismisses keto all the time. My concern is long term health and the ratio of anabolism to catabolism. I wish you well and hope things work out for you. There can be no doubt that ketogenic diets promote weight loss, but the potential consequences of doing things this way and whether or not it is the right kind of weight which is lost (fat vs muscle for example) is seldom discussed. It is already known that high fat diets raise estrogen, and chronically high estrogen is dangerous to health. In youth, the human metabolism prefers glucose, and in aging, the metabolism becomes more ketogenic. It would therefore be unsurprising if actively encouraging the ketogenic states promoted aging. Weight loss is also a feature of disease and old age.
I don't blame you for taking the course of action you have taken. Society makes it seem like keto is the way to lose weight, and people wanting to take action are going to choose from choices presented to them, but society is largely silent about things which are not fads. An alternative to keto is a low fat diet with a high ratio of saturated fat to polyunsaturated fat, which is potentially difficult for some, because fast food and modern Western food in general is nearly universally high in fat.

Good for u. Ketosis works just like fasting. U will lose pounds but lose energy. Carbs are good for.brain function and long/short term energy. I like brown rice and black eyed peas with ground meat in a burrito.
>>145126
I agree. The main reason i dont do that shit is because it is too hard to even out the macros.
My current diet means i just have to focus on getting enough protein for the day (~150G)
that being said, it becomes more easy to round out carbs around the protein, hardly worrying about fat. My fat intake can be anywhere from 10-30%
It can be difficult to binge out on carbs but once u ease off of them a bit, u can get full with protein.

Oh I remember you. you're the faggpt that posts shit studies from pubmed all the time and thinks that makes him smart, when he has no idea how to read a study and interpet it's value. HINT:Most studies are worthless.
Eating fat doesn't raise estrogen. BEING fat raises estrogen, and estrogen encourages fat gain. This is not breaking news.
>In youth, the human metabolism prefers glucose, and in aging, the metabolism becomes more ketogenic. It would therefore be unsurprising if actively encouraging the ketogenic states promoted aging. Weight loss is also a feature of disease and old age.
This is some retarded logic. By this logic, obese fucks like me must be the healthiest of all! Is it really surprising a resilient child has better insulin sensitivity? They haven't hammered their insulin receptors for years. There's a reason it's called "adult onset" diabetes. It's like a heroin user that's just done his first dose. It doesn't take much for him to get what he needs. He can easily quit if he wants. his dopamine receptors haven't pulled back yet. After years of heroin abuse, he's shooting up massive doses just to feel normal. Quitting is unpleasant and he goes through a brief adaptation phase where his body learns to function without heroin. It's the same with old people. After years of hammering their insulin receptors, they start losing muscle because their muscles can't get the energy they need. Keto is not age promoting, it is youth restoring. Alzheimer's has even been referred to as type 3 diabetes because it has been strongly linked to lack of insulin sensitivity in the brain.
Glucose it not preferred, it is more highly regulated. Preference is an a loaded term. It means you have two choices, and decided one is better than the other. Since glucose is used up before another fuel source, does that mean the body likes it better? When you get paid, do you spend the money on things you would prefer to have first, or do you spend it on your debts/bills first? By your logic, alcohol is the body's most preferred fuel. It will stop glucose metabolism immediately to metabolize alcohol. Does that mean I should go on a high vodka diet? No. The body prefers to burn alcohol because it is toxic and it's better to get rid of it than leave it around. Guess what. Glucose is also toxic if not tightly regulated. The body wants to keep just enough glucose around for the few things that absolutely require it, and no more. Diabetes patients lose their eyesight and have limbs amputated due to the effects of chronic glucose elevation.
To reiterate, a fuel being "preferred" only really tells us the order, but says nothing of the context.
The problem with western food is not that it's high in fat, but that it's high in sugar and fat, which is a bad combination, even worse than eating sugar alone.
As to the fad aspect, as I mentioned before, carb restriction has been around since Hippocrates, who recommended that those who want to lose weight switch to 'rich' (i.e. fatty) foods.

Ah, this old myth. There is an adaptation period when switching to a ketone based metabolism where one may lose energy temporarily, but on there other side, there is much more energy, especially for endurance. Many endurance athletes are going keto because of this. Now I can tell from my energy levels whether I'm in ketosis or not, because when I drop out of ketosis I have less energy.
As for the brain, that's an interesting one. The brain is one part of the body that does need some minimal glucose. Even then, the brain runs very well getting the rest of it's energy from ketones. Some people would even use the "P" word. It's also interesting to note that the brain might not need glucose so much as the resulting lactate from its fermentation by astrocytes.
>My current diet means i just have to focus on getting enough protein for the day
That's basically all I do. Now that I've cut out most carby foods, I don't really count them either. I just make sure I'm getting a decent amount of meat each day, and if I'm still hungry I eat more fat. Most days I eat "carnivore" and don't have any carbs at all. When I do eat carbs, its usually from salad greens, or sometimes heavy cream. It's an extremely simple and delicious diet. Eat meat, not too little, mostly fat.

Tl;dr
From the looks of it, yourr one of those people that believe what doctors say
"Insulin sensitivity can be permanrntly destroyed from frequent sugar intake."
Have u seen the world we live in?? There are no forces like that. Some people die for no reason. Others est like shit their whole life and life to be 130. Others punished for eating and living healthy. Hopefully vegans will die by thunder.

I hear many people talking about their cheese addiction. The thing is that they rarely understand that cheese is truly addictive.
I remember back in the day when I weighed 260 pounds and felt miserable, I lived on cheese. It was a staple in my diet. I bought 2 pound blocks of sharp cheddar cheese. I snacked on them, had cheese sandwiches and smothered my vegetables in cheese.
My body ached, I was lethargic and depressed..
Thankfully, hypnosis changed my life. I used hypnosis for cheese addiction as well as for weight loss and overall lifestyle change.
The result is that today I have a large amount of no desire for cheese. I lost about 115 – 120 pounds and I feel great.
My hypnosis for weight loss program can help you too. If you are struggling with food addiction or just want to lose weight, call or email me now. Together, no matter where you may live, we can develop a hypnosis program for you.
Pic related, it's what all you cheesecucks look like
