Build your resume this way because Amanda Augustine said to:
Six pieces of information in six seconds:
- Name
- Current title and company
- Current position start and end dates
- Previous title and company
- Previous position start and end dates
- Education
Layout:
- Use proper punctuation and grammar
- Only include relevant information
- Top of page should be Six Pieces
- Competencies and areas of expertise below
- Include professional summary in lieu of objective
- One phone number, preferably cell
- One e-mail, preferably dedicated business e-mail
- Black-only text, one other easily readable color can be acceptable
- One page for entry-level
- Never more than two pages
- 1/2" or greater margins
- 13-16 font headers
- 10-12 font body
Do not:
- Include full mailing address
- Include photos
- Include and objective
- Include any "Referrals available upon request" clause
- Assume knowledge of logos
- Cram text or bullets
