I wonder if this film (final cut) gets a lot of hate on this board? The theatrical cut is seriously just popcorn-film type shit IMO.

I encourage everyone to not post in this thread
my case:
>we already have a thread for this I'm sure
>no discussion encouraged by topic
>OP is posting standard IMDB fare
avoid at all costs

Honestly I don't have a favorite film. Sometimes I try to make a "top 5 or top x" list but I can't.
I don't know if anybody here experience the same thing, for example there are movies that I find masterpieces but that I wouldn't probably watch that often, and then there's movies that are flawed in many ways but that I can keep watching every week. So choosing one or the other ad my favorite is pretty awkward to me.

Let's all keep quiet and let the board die forever.

I know this is a typical answer, but in my opinion this film is legendary. It has incredible cinematography, an amazing score, and an actor playing a role he'll be remembered in for decades. It always stuck with me.

I agree with you. When someone looks up the term "cinema" and "epic" that movie is the golden standard.

O'Toole looked so damn handsome on that movie.
No homo.
The photography at the scene at sunset after they took Aqaba just blew my mind. This movie is truly deserving of all the recognition and acclaim.

The transition of the match being blown out by Lawrence to the rising sun of the desert was a genuine holy shit moment for me.
What'd you think about Sheriff Ali telephoto shot when it almost looks like he's descending down to us from the heavens and is seen, in the distance, floating on the ground?
It still blows me away that this was done in '62 with absolutely no CGI. Everything was practical.

it pains me that I'll probably never see this film projected from the 70mm

The last I read about LoA in 70mm was in a movie theater in Germany. I remember googling it and finding a list of still active 70mm theaters around the world.
http://www.in70mm.com/now_showing/
Looks like LoA will be playing in a 70mm theater in Austin, Texas in August (if I read the date correctly).
Has anyone been to this theater in Austin that has a 70mm projector?
