Sonic 3 and Knuckles is near perfection, and the absolute best classic game as far as I'm concerned. Sonic 1 Master System is also a wonderful game, and I can never resist Sonic Chaos when I need something to keep me occupied for a good half-hour.

I wish they made more special stages like the ones in Triple Trouble. Having a time trial of a bizarre labyrinthian stage, followed by a boss fight for the emerald, is way more fun than most of the "Get the X" variations they've done.
