How exactly does that work with gravel?

Also that requires you come at the car either head on or from the rear which a lot of times is not possible.

And it's super fiddly meaning you would be spending even longer out there recovering a car.

It isn't as bad as the FIA idea of using a helicopter to recover cars but it ain't far off.

He's an utter tard.

He thinks his tiny frame will be strong enough be strong enough because that's what the pit jacks do.

>"i dont think the 700kg is a problem 1 inch steel frame is going to be strong rember in the pits 2 mechanics lift it."

A pit jack has to carry half the weight of the car, ie 350kg, and needs braces despite the load bearing section being a only 1 foot long.

His design features an unbraced 4 metre length, that he expects won't bend with 700kg concentrated on a single point in the center when it's winched up.

Fuck I just realized: even the A-frames aren't braced to the center.

They'd just fall inwards as the top beam bent when load when load is added.

Oh shit, I also just realized: He seems to think that added an extra triangle at the rear, less than a foot from the other one, somehow makes it stronger.

That increases the vertical load capability, which isn't the problem.

He somehow lacks understanding of the most basic of structural engineering concepts.

Concepts that even non-engineers understand.

Another wild idea would be avoiding the fucking tractor.

>pass it on to a few of the teams

I can't even imagine the laughter in the engineering room when someone brings this up. And then says it's been designed by someone probably over 8 years old.

Besides, if some driver were to pile into this contraption, he would hit the car with his head. And then the car would fall down because of how shitty this design is and the poor driver would just die while clueless marshalls try to lift the car crushing him. Hell, it looks like even moving the car around would cause it to fall from the planks.

for the longest time raikkonen was far and away the most expensive, largely because robertson (his manager was so good).

the drivers that are the products of young driver programs are generally paid little, and have no recourse as all their sponsorship follows the program (like with redbull) not the driver. think of how vettel had a sponsorless helmet but for ferrari's sponsors.

Swapped the steering rack in my E36 to a quicker ratio one from an E46 (3 turns vs 3.5) today.

Also replaced the rubber steering flex disc with a solid aluminum piece.

Way more headaches than I planned on.

Started at 9am, finished packing up at 4pm.

Worked outside in the rain for a lot of it.

I am fucking knackered.

Feels damn nice though. Sharp turn in, and very direct feel.

Just need to get an alignment done now.
