there's a bunch more things that this man has done but I'd say his a pretty noteworthy lolcow

Totally agreed. Ive studied actionscript to do some things in flash by my own, and my knowledge is very very basic, and i could pinpoint the mess that code is almost instantly. And this guy codes for years? Hes a total fraud in my opinion

I love this germ
>A bad programmer cannot make a combat minigame. A bad programmer cannot make a dialogue system. A bad programmer cannot make a shoot-em-up minigame. A bad programmer cannot create an inventory system. A bad programmer cannot create a rhythm minigame. You can't slip and fall on your keyboard and accidentally implement features like these. It requires competency. If I was a bad programmer, I never would have been able to implement any of the features that exist in Yandere Simulator. The claim that I'm a bad programmer falls apart pretty quickly.
Also his rutine his bullshit, not only does he wake up at 12 like some autistic neet, he wants us to believe that he works 11 hours per day, AFTER he started to work two hours less in order to stream vidya.

The slowness is likely caused by having lots of unnecessary processing and checks done on every frame.
There's nothing wrong with the performance of if-else ladders. In the case of static code and prototyping-debugging, it can be very convenient, too. In his coding style, however, it's the dominant pattern for all logic, treated as a silver bullet.
Considering his penchant for hardcoded values and copypasting those huge if-else blocks into different places, there's no way to stop it from turning into a maintenance nightmare.
Maybe you want to add or change an eye color. Now you have to find all those completely separate eye color logic blocks. Oops, forgot to change one, now the game crashes or eyes turn see-through during one screen, but only if character X and Y had that color randomly assigned to them and it's night and the phase of the moon is just right.

It's more work to get messaging and general workflow going, and wrapping your head around how not to engineering yourself into a corner, but in exchange for making certain one-off spaghetti hacks harder and the upfront costs before getting anything to run, the performance gains and other forms of flexibility you get out of it are blinding. As in, speed that's orders of magnitude faster and one-liners replacing what otherwise call for several functions. On top of that, code of this design tends to be much more amenable toward SIMD and parallelism, sometimes trivially so, should you need further optimization.
Cache coherency is really underappreciated, and trusting your language or framework to always do it correctly is still unrealistic.

W-wew did this guy actually go to college for programming? Seems like programming can't really be taught, and going to college for programming should be for fairly experienced and competent programmers who are mostly self-taught and want to iron out bad practices and learn better practices from more experienced and professional mentors.
The "everyone can code" meme is total bullshit, which is cohencidentally constantly shilled by giant tech companies.

Anyone can learn code, it's just the skill level and the time it takes for them to learn that varies.
YanDev knew just enough to graduate but doing keep learning or practicing, which led into situations like your pic. There isn't a big difference there, and it's something that if you were working hard and paying attention you could actually pick up easily.
But he's stuck in his ways.

But that's just wrong. You can't teach a borderline illiterate 85 IQ nigger to code for instance.
There's also the prevalent myth that autists are good at coding. While a large amount of programmers are pathetic spaghetti spillers very few of them are legitimately on the autistic spectrum. Autists just don't have the spatial thinking and spontaneous problem solving ability to effectively program.

I think it's less about his personal sexual tastes and more about his unprofessionalism and how his sexual tastes have become a big part of why he's unprofessional. A lot of people who work on games, movies, anime etc that are sexual in nature can at the very least separate that from when they're talking to the people they're working with, YanDev can't and it is the reason why things such as pic related happen when he's talking to his volunteers.

Actually there are coders from Africa and other third world countries. Their code is usually very basic and is usually associated with shady shit, but it functions.
Anyone can code, but the time it takes to learn it and the quality you'll get from them varies wildly based on the individual.

My only experience with programming comes from tinkering with doom .wads in SLADE and even I can see how cluttered this spaghetti code is.
One thing I learned when making .wads is to make shit organized and tidy, a DECORATE file including a bunch of other decorates which contain multiple actors, etc. Immediately just from looking at his code, I can deduce that he doesn't know how to make one universal action, or perhaps a function, for the majority of characters.
