The last 6 commandments can be generalized by the golden rule, which is to treat others the way you would want be to be treated (and not treating others the way you would not want to be treated). Did God wanted to make an emphasis on those 6 different commandments instead of just fusing them into one?

What scholars have to say about this?

We can condense them into ever smaller bits until we have>

"He said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment" before also referring to a second commandment, "And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

This still has the same structure as the 10, first solely about God, then about dealings with people.

But in the OT the people were being taught, from a stage of savagery little by little to civilized&holy, so defining specific cases was necessary. There are like 600 commandments in the OT.

Does that mean it's more or less a "heuristic" set of the most "basic" commandments to follow?

Well, it's more like "Love your neighbor" because some folks say the golden rule are sadomasochistic and want to play rough, wife swap, have duels, and so on.

And the numbering is all wrong, but they're not numbered in the Bible so feel free to have liberties.

The first four commandments are the first table of the law, and are summarized in "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind". They govern man's relationship with God. The second six commandments are the second table of the law, and are summarized in "You shall love your neighbor as yourself". They govern man's relationship with his fellow man.
