Yes, I'm familiar with that Bible quote. I think your interpretation is a little bit off - this might be due to poor English comprehension on your part. This quote isn't saying that Satan produces light but rather, he will appear as an angel of light, like, angel of goodness or angel of God.

Secondly, I believe the whole point of that quote was that Satan can appear to be an angel and therefore you can't just put all your faith into your or anyone else's mystical experiences. Even Padre Pio, as holy as he was, would also get tricked by Satan as Satan would appear to him whilst masquerading himself as Jesus Christ.

That's about mystical experiences. The devil can appear in any form to fool people and mainly to make them fall through pride by making them feel special.

If you read the Saints advanced in those matters they'll say you shouldnt give importance to visions for that reason and because God will get what He wants of you vision or no vision. Also that is why we are to discern these things with spiritual directors.

Such sense of superiority and reactions are a sign they fell to pride and that the vision was probably just a demonic ploy.

Getting pissed off by people committing the bandwagon fallacy is anything but a sign of pride. It is the sign of a very healthy and logical mind. A better sign of an experience being demonic is involvement of drugs. Human democracy doesn't determine God's will on a matter. Sins against nature however are usually a sign God doesn't condone the event.
