Writings from the church in Alexandria from the school of the most holy Saint Lucian but now resting at the bosom of Abraham along with all the Saints such as Eusebius, Aetius, Eunomius and the most holy and blessed Lucian of antioch of whom I am a disciple of to the Father in the Spirit from Christ. Grace and Peace to all.

I have been urged to write this epistle in the short time I have been gifted by God since there have been many a slander thrown at me and my name as well as accusations made about me and those who bear my name despite me not being worthy of having this theology named after me despite not being its originator.

I have been charged with causing schism and strife and being a dissenter and a Judas to the church but I tell you it was truly that cursed man Athanasius who was the true dissenter. That mad beast of a man who attempted to exile me from my church and successfully and for what? For claiming there was a time when the Son was not? Did not even Tertullian say in his epistle to Hermogenes:

> There was, however, a time when neither sin existed with Him, nor the Son; the former of which was to constitute the Lord a Judge, and the latter a Father.

And does not the scriptures also call Christ the wisdom of God when Paul says:

>but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

And we learn from the proverbs of Solomon that this wisdom of God was created before the world was:

>The Lord created me at the beginning[b] of his work, the first of his acts of long ago.

And I am attacked for saying that the Father alone is God but does not Christ in the gospel of John say the same thing when he calls the Father the only true God?

>Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

And does not Christ himself confess that the Father is greater than him

>Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am

And in another place he says:

>Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’

And yet I was mistreated, exiled and ran from my home yet I was still humble enough to return to the church after my exile and willing to accept your creed until one of the Athanasian party poisoned me and I suffered a most humiliating death.

I, Arius, write this all humbly by the Grace of God through our Lord Jesus in the Spirit to protect me and the church.

Amen.

This is an anachronism, Athanasius rose to prominence after Nicea

>The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.

After reading this, I've only come to the conclusion that anti-Trinitarian arguments have only gotten worse in the past centuries.

Still, most Arian arguments (like "the father is greater than I") can be solved just by pointing to a diagram of the Trinity, or even just googling bible verses.

According to historian William Thomas Walsh, in his book Felipe II (p. 206), Arius was a converted jew. Now why should I believe you over him?

How does that diagram refute arianism and what bible verses are you referring to?

I'll have to read the historian since I'm skeptical since I've never heard any historian say this and so Walsh will have to provide a pretty compelling piece of evidence. But even if so most of the church was from a Jewish background and Athanasius himself came from a pagan background.

>How does that diagram refute arianism

I meant it answers those objections like citing John 14:28, since Trinitarians don't believe Jesus is the Father.

Arius himself beloieved Jesus was divine, by "Arian" I just meant people who claim the Son is a creature.

>what bible verses are you referring to?

The ones that say Jesus is God (John 1:1, Mark 1:1-3, etc.) and that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4, etc.)

This wasn't the purpose of the verse though. Trinitarians believe that the Father and Son are Co-Equal yet this verse proves otherwise.

>John 1:1

There are two ways of answering this. There's the simple answer and the complicated one but for a simple answer I'd say for now that other beings beside God can be called God.

>Mark 1:1-3

This is what is known as the fulfilment fallacy. In acts 13 a messianic verse is applied to the apostles despite them not being the messiah.

>Deuteronomy 6:4

This actually proves my point since Christ repeats it in the gospels.

>Trinitarians believe that the Father and Son are Co-Equal yet this verse proves otherwise.

We believe their co-equal in essence, not in rank. Jay Dyer has a useful video on the Monarchy of the Father in light of the Trinity : https://youtu.be/Q0Uv3AZYQGk

>other beings beside God can be called God.

The Church has a word for this. That word is paganism.

>This is what is known as the fulfilment fallacy. In acts 13 a messianic verse is applied to the apostles despite them not being the messiah.

Ignoring the fact that "fulfilment fallacy" isn't an actual fallacy, I will just point out that a plain reading of the text demonstrates it's talkibg about Jesus. John the Baptist is the one leading the way, and "the Lord" is the one he prepares the way for. You do have a point with Acts 13:47, but only partially as those prophecies can have multiple fulfillments.

>This actually proves my point since Christ repeats it in the gospels.

Please, do explain how Deut. 6:4 (and all quotations of it) refute the Trinity.
