>be me, 22

>roman pagan

>never prayed to any of the gods

>never had an alter

fast forward

>get interested in church history

>start reading a bit, buy bible

>i pray infrequently bordering on rarely cause why not

>start feeling a draw towards the church as a job

>have vivid as hell dreams about becoming a priest

wtf do I do now, with the Shanghai shivers going around the churches are closed so I can't even attend my first mass. Am I just becoming a scizo or what?

I've looked into what it all entails becoming one and I think I would enjoy actually doing something good with my life and I believe I have faith now so thats not an issue. Its that ove never actually attended a mass and neither have I gone through the Catholic adult program to become a legit one

I recommend going to an RCIA, preferably at a Church that does TLM.

For now you could pick up the Catechism of the Council of Trent, a Douay-Rheims bible, and also get a rosary. It has helped me a lot, personally

Do you know if your parents had you baptized? If so, you should get yourself a copy of your baptism certificate, if only for your own record keeping.

As 7429fc >>850950 mentioned, you should spend some time reading the catechism of the catholic church. You can skim it courtesy of the Vatican website at the following address: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc/index.htm You can also read the Holy Bible as well here: http://www.vatican.va/archive/bible/index.htm Just as the Holy Bible, the Catechism is available in several languages in addition to English.

If you find the catechism to be a useful ready reference regarding your questions regarding Christianity and life, then locate the parishes in your area. Assuming you've been baptized and have a copy of your baptism certificate. Find out about the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). It's a course that should meet starting in the late summer, early fall, once a week at an area RC parish. If you're not baptized, you'll want to be baptized before enrolling. Some parishes provide RCIA for free, some require you pay something. All will require that you have a printed copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and it'll be to your benefit to have a Holy Bible at home and a rosary.

While you're locked out of the parish, make the time to follow the mass online. If your area parishes don't stream their mass, Catholictv.org is a suitable alternative. Also, please consider visiting Churchmilitant.com so you can get news relevant to your blossoming interest in Catholicism that isn't skewed by Marxists.

When you've completed your catechism, feel free to let us know.

It's good, but if you've never even go to prayer, it might be a sign of prelest.

Join as an altar boy, or whatever before beating the hammer. Patience is a virtue, always.

Technically, I would not do Church militant, I would recommend Sensus Fidelium and Lifesitenews. Church militant can get outright negative

The Church militant bore false witness against the SSPX and then Bishop I could probably find one in a local catholic parish. who rebuked this sin.

Then they go on about 1 priest who may have acted badly 14 years ago with scant little evidence.

<have vivid as hell dreams about becoming a priest

Baby steps. Focus on joining first.

>the churches are closed so I can't even attend my first mass

If you can't find a Latin Mass church still holding in-person services, tune in to a livestream. My personal choice is Extraordinary Form Low Mass from St. John Cantius in Chicago.

If you do go to Mass for real, DO NOT TAKE COMMUNION

If you want to learn more, check out the Catechism of Saint Pius X. Fr. Dave Nix, AKA Padre Peregrino has a series called CPX (abbreviation of the former) that explains it pretty well.
