AoG here. It's odd to think we, perhaps the most knee-slappy, theologically lax denom have such a good record on this account. But I can attest this record is absolutely true speaking from personal experience having moved around a little bit within the denom. No one affirms sodomy.
There's a few observations I could guess as to potentially why, though none seem concrete:
Maybe being weirdo experientialists is particularly effective at scaring off modernists and the people without strong faith.
Perhaps we're so erratic and unintellectual there's no methodical way for them to worm their way in like other denoms.
Maybe the lack of a hierarchy/power structure for the denom means modernists don't bother as for there being no position of authority to strive for to attempt to destroy the church. The modernists seem to love chasing the grandeur of vestments, miters and offices.
Since influence, rather than being tied to an office, in this denom is merely tied to a preacher's popularity, perhaps none of them can hope to become influential without quickly and easily losing their reach upon promoting their demonic b.s.
Just a theory; back to the note on being weird, raising hands and being all awe-stricken seems a surefire outward sign that people in attendance actually take their faith seriously. And that's most in the congregations. People who take their faith seriously generally take the Bible seriously. People who take the Bible seriously are against sodomy.
Because let's be honest, the dead-wood cluttering the pews in so many churches who affirm homosexuality aren't convicted believers in God, and if they are convicted at all in some belief then it's to the religion of man.
