Could Hitler be declared a saint? He was to only one who fought against Western and Eastern atheism, and many if not most of the Christian leaders in Europe sided with Hitler during the war.
Could Alexander the Great be declared a saint? He subjugated the whole Middle East under European rule for millennia to come, which paved the way for the spread of Christianity.
Medieval Christianity used to declare warrior kings saints, only in the past few hundreds years has this stopped. The only people who are now declared saints are either reclusive monks, or martyrs. Role models for European men are decidedly lacking.
