What do you think God has in store for those of us geeks/nerds who love these sorts of things? What can we expect in terms of art, fiction, and fantasy in heaven? This could range from things like music, games, movies, books, etc. Whenever I ask this question to other Christians I get the usual "We won't need that" or "It'll be far beyond our imagination" responses which I don't like. Saying that implies that we shouldn't even be asking such questions but I'm genuinely curious.
I'm not expecting any real answers until we're there but I think it's fair to say we could expect these sorts of things right? I mean, if angels use things like trumpets then that means human tools/inventions will exist, why limit the technology to only non-electric? If we can draw then we can animate, if we can play an instrument then we could make music, if we can write we can tell stories. God is going to surprise us with amazing things in Heaven and I believe we can also expect modern creations too because again, why limit technology in heaven to 19th century and back? We're as much of a part as human history as those around during Jesus's time, I doubt we're all going to live in those times but in heaven right?
What if I want to role-play and have fun with other people in heaven? What will the limit be? Could we still create stories with things like death, could I create furry characters or is that pagan in some way? Could I make a world with fantasy magic or is all magic considered occult even though it would be fictional and no real satanic symbols would be used? What do you think God's opinion is on Fiction and Fantasy?
