Not allowed because its effects pretty much amount to drunkeness but it is the most innocuous recreational drug out of all of them. Can't really criticize it more than alcoholic drunkeness. Would be interesting to see what opinions on it were prior to J. Edgar Hoover and the drug war.

There's probably a reason why among Muslims there are more tolerant attitudes toward it than toward alcohol. Ethiopians are pretty devout church goers yet qat chewing is a very prevalent cultural habit among them.

One of main concerns scripturally with drug use is the possibility of falsely believing to receive some divine influence while under its effects.

Modern weed is GMO. Weed originally had like 99% less thc. I can see it as similar to a glass of wine once in a while for aliments. However it should never be used to stifle darkeness in your life and numb you to despair, anger, worry and sin. We must confront those issue with utmost truth and sobriety and our whole selves

I dumped my drug friends about a week ago. I didn’t want to end up like them. I blocked them on my phone but they keep calling. I know my addiction to hash is inhibiting me from functioning and growing spiritually. I want different things now. I now have a reason to run towards success by running from them and the drugs.

Even Jesus drank wine sometimes. I think Marijuana is probably one of the less harmful recreational substances but addiction hurts no matter what medicinal properties it may have. I think it's okay to smoke on the weekends and with friends and at parties (assuming they are not parties of a dubious nature) and whatnot but smoking it every day is bad for you and can actually have lasting health effects.

Lots of people hail weed as an all purpose cure for everything but it's not. It's a vice just like beer, cigarettes, video games, and junk food. In moderation, these things are okay, but it is best to avoid as many vices as possible.

Also, there is no such thing as medical marijuana anymore. All the medicinal properties from cannabis can be gotten from CBD oil without the psychedelic effects.

Yea, no, sorry - you're wrong. Please don't spread false BS. THC alone has highly medicinal effects, particularly in cancer. I'd know cause I'm treating my mom for stage 4 pancreatic. Please consult the hundreds of studies verifying it first. There's also a ton of other medicinal cannabinoids other than CBD.

breaking weed addiction was the first miracle Christ worked in my life. I thank God I got off that junk. ruined my life. have never gone back to it, 8 years off weed!

as far as what the bible says, i dont think it ever mentions weed, but it does speak repeatedly against intoxication and "drunkenness." sobriety is the Christian path for sure.

Following up on my post here, just want to say fellow "Christians" who want to take cannabis out of the hands of people who need it are dangerously, malignantly ignorant. I'm refraining from using the term scum of the earth. When you see someone close withering away and dying in front of you, and the ONLY thing that helps them is cannabis, maybe then you'll understand. And just advocating "medical use" is rubbish. The wait time to get validated was around a month of suffering, and what the government offers is way overpriced junk than what you'd find otherwise. They're literally robbing the most vulnerable people who are desperate for any relief.

Again, those who wish to deny relief from suffering because they're attached to some arbitrary recent tradition that a plant is bad and unholy, you will face judgement by God.

Before covid s—, I loved to take a few puffs before visiting a local latin mass and some times a Greek ortho. Little bit of cannabis mixed with divine liturgy is breathtaking and life changing. I miss I tbh. The music and words flow though you in a way I can't explain. Then the sunlight hits the stained glass windows and it's absolutely beautiful.
