ITT we discuss arminianism.
Arminianism is a Protestant position as opposed to Calvinism, especially regarding predestination and free will. It is defined by the five articles of remonstrance:
>Conditional election
>Unlimited atonement
>Total depravity
>Prevenient grace
>Conditional preservation of the saints
Its most numerous followers are in the Wesleyan Methodist tradition.
Is anyone here an Arminian?
What are your objections?

Humans don't exist and they certainly don't exert a supernatural force over the fate of the universe. The only thing """YOU""" do is behave in a way you think I think is plausible. That is entirely deterministic. If you think I think you're a demon you act like a demon. If you think I think you're stupid you act stupid. You probably think I think you will reject this notion so you will predictably act like you do so.

If you just mean "non determinist" I agree, but are you an actual practicing arminian?

I don't believe in simulation theory. That's new age hogwash. Determinism is strictly Catholic doctrine.

Late Augustine and St. Thomas are determinists. Determinism is Catholicism. According to St. Thomas free will is simply rational capacity. One cannot do anything God did not permit in advance. Period.

EVEN THE JESUITS believe in strict determinism. They believe God knows how every man will act in any situation and places people in the world accordingly. They're criticized for having the most liberal and non-deterministic theology out of all the priestly orders and yet they still believe in strict determinism. IT WAS EVEN A JESUIT who predicted the coming heresy of indeterminism. You're not magically breaking physics with your choices. You're merely a heretic in a prophesy.
