Pic related was done in a Catholic church. The Catholic Church and Orthodox Churches have always accepted and continue to accept interracial marriage, as do traditional Protestant churches including the Baptists and LCMS and many others. There is literally nothing wrong with race mixing. Racial supremacy in any form is sinful and against historic Christian doctrine. You cannot be a racist and be a genuine Christian. If you are, please leave this board and go back to /pol/. Your racial ideologies are not welcome in Christianity.

>The Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America

>Response to Racist Violence in Charlottesville, VA Friday, August 18, 2017

>The Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America stands with all people of good will in condemning the hateful violence and lamenting the loss of life that resulted from the shameful efforts to promote racial bigotry and white supremacist ideology in Charlottesville, Virginia.

>The Orthodox Church emphatically declares that it does not promote, protect or sanction participation in such reprehensible acts of hatred, racism, and discrimination, and proclaims that such beliefs and behaviors have no place in any community based in respect for the law and faith in a loving God.

>The essence of the Christian Gospel and the spirit of the Orthodox Tradition are entirely and self-evidently incompatible with ideologies that declare the superiority of any race over another. Our God shows no partiality or favoritism [Deuteronomy 10:17, Romans 2:11]. Our Lord Jesus Christ “broke down the dividing wall of hostility that had separated God from humans and humans from each other” [Ephesians 2:14]. In Christ Jesus, the Church proclaims, there can be “neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male or female, but all are one” [Galatians 3:28]. Furthermore, we call on one another “to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather to expose them [Ephesians 5:11]. And what is darkness if not hatred? “The one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness” [1 John 2:11]!

>Furthermore, in 1872, Hierarchs from around the world assembled in Constantinople and denounced all forms of xenophobia and chauvinism [phyletism]. They agreed that the promotion of racial or national supremacy and ethnic bias or dissension in the Church of Christ is to be censured as contrary to the sacred teachings of the Christian Gospel and the holy canons of the Church. It is formally condemned as heresy, the strongest category of false teaching.

>Finally, such actions as we have witnessed in recent days, by self-proclaimed white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and various racists and fascists, betray the core human values of love and solidarity. In this, we pray wholeheartedly for the families of those who lost their lives or suffered in these tragic events. In like manner, we cannot condone any form of revenge or retaliation by any group or individual. Therefore, we fervently appeal to every person of good will, and especially the leaders of our great nation, to consider and adopt ways of reconciling differences in order to rise above any and all discrimination in our history, our present, and our future.

Emotional argument

Miscegenation is inadvisable. To advocate this view is not racism, if racism is to maintain it's useful definition as disparaging another on account of race. This is also not "supremacy".

This is the normative view in christian history, your gaslighting doesn't work here. You can follow your own advice and go back to reddit.

Well why shouldn't I shame you for being a racist? Christ wasn't afraid to shame the Pharisees for their despicable beliefs. "You snakes, you brood of vipers!" (Matthew 23:33)

Christ specifically commands us to call out our brothers who sin against us (and you sin against members of the body of Christ who are not your race by being racist), and if they will not listen then we should bring it to the Church (Matthew 18:15-17), because when one part of the body of Christ is in pain then the entire body feels the pain (1 Corinthians 12:26), and as a member of the body of Christ your sins (including that of racism) defile the entire body of Christ (1 Corinthians 3:17). Stop defiling the Temple of God, whether that is by racism or by other sins. Repent, go to confession, receive the Eucharist, and love your neighbor (Leviticus 19:17).

The insults Jesus used weren't meaningless insults intended to emotionally persuade. They meant deceivers. He could've just called them liars and it would mean the same thing. What you do when you socially shame people is play the part of Satan because original sin is irrational conformity. Satan used promises that were obviously irrational to persuade Eve to conform to his will and Eve did the same with Adam. God HATED this. God had to suffer for this sin of ours again when jews socially shamed Pilate into killing Jesus and got the crowds to jeer at Jesus as He was being killed. Read the Gospel of John. If you're playing the part of Satan on something as simple as mere social interactions then I most certainly have no reason to trust you on larger matters like race.

Agreed that it's inadvisable but if it's a choice between a Jewish or black woman who is a proper Christian and an atheist white woman the choice for a Christian must be the Christian woman always. And no, I am not denying your Christianity, I have no right to judge your faith (Matthew 7:1), rather I am doing as Christ commanded and calling you out for your sins, just as I would call out a Christian who believes homosexual marriage is ok when scripture and tradition forbid that as sinful. However it seems you're attempting to play the role of the victim here.

I never really even "insulted" you, I simply pointed out that if you believe in racism, then that is incompatible with Christianity. Only on this fringe site will you find people claiming to be Christians (which I do not deny) yet believe in something contrary to the Christian faith, that is racism or miscegenation which has been condemned by the mainstream Christian world just as homosexuality has been condemned. I want to help try and correct you for the sake of Christ our Lord, to help you onto the better path, and sometimes tough love must be utilized in these situations.

You implying that wanting to exist is racial supremacy shows you are just an ill intended troll. God didnt make all the races so they mixed into one blob to prove they arent 'supremacist'.

Also you attacking whites specifically and not any other race shows you are just here for anti white garbage.

Miscegenation should only happen naturally at the margins, border people mixing a bit with the neighboring countries.

This bringing of millions of far away foreigners and the the constant propaganda to miscigenate is obviously a deliberate attack on the western peoples and Christendom by evil revolutionary forces. Monetary communism fails? here comes racial communism! here comes sexual communism! And communism is amply criticized by the church.

We shouldnt take part in it by creating more individuals of shattered identity because they dont feel like they belong and easily adopt anti western views that push for the demographic change that is desired by the evil side.

You can bring them up so they have a sense of loyalty but the natural craving of belonging will never be there which is a cruelty being done unto them.

Just because I oppose racism you assume I'm a globalist? First of all I'm primarily speaking about the situation in North America, particularly the United States, which is multicultural and has been for a very long time. "Race mixing" is common and the historic Christian Church has no problem with this. If a black man and a white women, or an Asian woman and a black man, or etc etc wanted to get married the Church can not refuse on the basis of their race or ethnicity. The Church has never done this and never will, and condemns anyone who would forbid this. Marriage is between one man and one woman regardless of race because all humans are equal in dignity and intrinsic value and especially if both are Christians because in the body of Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, male or female (this becomes especially true in becoming one flesh in Christian marriage itself), slave or free (Galatians 3:28).

All forms of racial or ethnic supremacy are condemned by the historic Christian world, as is not only evident in that picture I posted above which is in a Catholic Church in good standing with Rome, but also in that statement from Orthodox bishops in America who condemn all forms of "racial or national supremacy and ethnic bias or dissention in the Church of Christ" and that the promotion of such ideologies is "condemned as heresy, the strongest category of false teaching". This means that ideologies found among members of groups of Neo-Nazis or the KKK are utterly condemned as evil and false.

But again, this does not mean I'm a "globalist" because I support every nations right to its own sovereignty which includes monitoring something like immigration, something which the historic Christian world has never been opposed to. The situation in countries like Japan or France is very different from that in North America. Of course there are still racial ideologies in some of those places, notably in Europe who promote forms of ethnic nationalism, something which is indeed condemned as is shown above in the statement from the Orthodox bishops which, once again, condemns condemned "racial or national supremacy" and "phyletism". So if say a European country decided to allow an African immigrant in and he met a white woman and both were faithful Christians who wanted to have a Christian marriage, there is absolutely no reason to forbid this on any grounds, as long as he is a biological male and she is a biological female there is absolutely no reason to forbid such a marriage. To do so would be promoting the false concept of miscegenation and racism.

I for one oppose European countries letting in the swaths of immigrants from Africa and the Middle East but not for racial reasons, and I also oppose illegal aliens in the United States and fully support ICE's removal of them. Just because I'm not a racist piece of s— doesn't mean I'm a globalist. It seems that too many people on this board put their politics over the faith though and subscribe to despicable ideologies found in Nazism or white supremacy

>b-b-but you're attacking whites specifically!

I am attacking white supremacy, just as I would attack any other form of racial supremacy including black supremacy or Asian supremacy or Jewish supremacy or whatever. Is your reasoning really so limited as to think just because I oppose racism I must also hate whites? I oppose any and all forms of racism including those held by whites! I condemned the Hebrew Israelites for black supremacy, I condemn ultra-Orthodox Jews for Jewish supremacy, etc.

>>846472

I have shown you what the consensus of the bishops is, but I guess if you refuse to listen to even them then nothing will persuade you. You have been warned once, you have been warned twice, and now I am simply going to walk away and leave God to judge you as in accordance with Titus 3:10-11.

>See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop.

It is a sin to remain knowingly in communion with sodomites and mass murderers. The Holy Bible teaches that if you receive them into your homes or bid them godspeed, you become partakers in their evil deeds.

The Scripture also says to separate from the communion of Belial and the ungodly. See 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. Therefore, no matter how rich or powerful a person is, the follower of the Gospel should withdraw from those and not be in communion with those that walk disorderly: sodomites, fornicators, idolators and so forth.

1 Corinthians 5:

> 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

<I support every nations right to its own sovereignty which includes monitoring something like immigration

is pretty racist and discriminatory, and contrary to the statement you quote in the OP. It's better to just not use woke nonsense words and say what you actually mean instead, and take the word of anyone (even a clergymen) who does with a grain of salt. I agree with you that the kind of racial idolatry you see a lot in these circles is un-Christian, but saying that it's un-Christian to not want foreigners to colonize your country (or at least to actually do anything about it, like make them go back to the homogenous quasi-ethnostates they typically hail from) is pretty much indefensible.

When the Bible speaks about nations it is generally talking about nation states, not "race" in the modern sense (which is anachronistic to the Bible). Now the Bible does, in a way, speak about different "races" from Noah (Hamites, Shemites, Japhethites) and yet Moses, a descendent of Israel who was a descendent of Shem, married an Ethiopian/Cus—e woman, who are descended from Ham. Again you could argue that Ethiopians are technically causcoids, however this would be anachronistic to the Bible as technically Japhethites and Shemites would also be causcoids yet the Bible differentiates them, only reinforcing the fact that there is no true concept of race in the Bible. Yet I just mentioned that the descendants of Noah would be the closest thing to race in the Bible and the Bible is completely fine with these groups mixing as in the case of Moses and his Ethiopian wife. When the Israelites were told by Ezra not to mix with those around them, it wasn't because of race, actually the Canaanites are the same race as the Hebrews anyway and spoke a language very similar to their own, it was due to their religion. God made sure the Israelites differentiated themselves from the rest of the nations because of his covenant with them. We see various times people from the surrounding nations convert to the Israelite religion, like Ruth and Rahab, both of whom occupy a place in Jesus's genealogy, and also Uriah the Hittite, and possibly even Job (although he did live before Moses). We also know that in the new covenant, these laws given specifically to the Israelites no longer apply.

Why does that suggest I hate anyone? Far from it! Long ago some people destroyed the culture of Africans, interbred with them and corrupted their gene pool so the poor people are not fit either in Western Society or African society. That's a terrible thing and I don't see how we can remedy it.

Because the next step after understanding that one race is superior and another is inferior is "X race is better and deserves Y" and i'm not only talking about just white supremacy, the can come from any different backgrounds. Or "X race is bad and deserves to be removed/or killed". That's why outsiders treat white supremacy so harshly because of the ones that give it it's violent connotation.

With that said different races are clearly different, but not in the way /pol/ says.

Largely owing to this and the other problems surrounding it, I don't recognize it as a well defined word in English. Much less something that has any relation to any doctrine of the Scripture.

Therefore, the entire topic is more of a curiosity than anything else. It seems that in one's attempts to condemn it, many often commit the very act of it while trying to condemn it, according to another's equally determined definition. There is little hope at this stage of there ever being a definition, similar to some of the nonsensical counter-charges that the bolsheviks made against their enemies before cutting their heads off or shooting them. I suppose the only definition that makes sense is the enemies of the most powerful anti-racists are by definition racists no matter what anyone else says.

It isn't charity to assume that truth leads to sin, Anon.

Your post leads to self deception, and that is of the devil.

I will agree that race is not mentioned in the Bible, tho' "nations" comes pretty close to it, as does the story of the Tower of Babel. I agree because mostly, it doesn't matter if it's in the Bible or not.

The Question is "Does Christian teaching conflict with the belief in racism?"

If racism means hate towards another person because of their race, then yes, because we're not to hate our neighbors but to love them.

if racism means understanding the truth that we are different peoples, then yes, you can understand that and be Christian. I would go so far it is necessary to understand that various races are different in order to form the best society for every different people. Denying that God made us different leads to sin and suffering e.g. BLM riots. Blacks, as a group, don't function well in white society. They must be able to govern themselves and work out their own laws and customs as long as it's Christian.

YOU CAN BOTH INTENSELY DISLIKE A RACE OF PEOPLE AND STILL SHOW THEM LOVE

YOU ARE NOT FORCED TO BE NICE OR LIKE SOMEONE

This

You can dislike members of a particular race, but if you found the life of one was in danger and you had the power to save them, by God, do it.

Why do you need to hate/dislike certain races? Can't you just believe in racial differences and not hate/dislike them for their racial crime patterns? Can you be pro-white without hating/disliking other races?

it's not close, it is how the bible considers race. Race in the bible isn't just biology, it also involves membership in a body politic, a nation. We've stripped the racial component from the word "nation", but the bible didn't.

True! We interpret the Bible in our own "multcultural" view of a nation being many races.
