I remember when 8chans christian board first opened it was great, it wasn't just larpers it was faithful devoted christians like christfag and northernbaptists who really practiced their faith
As it grew more larpers came in. People who had an interest and learned about it, but never really went to church or practiced. As that started the bans became more frequent and the Catholic protestant thing, which I advocated allowing as debate devolved into mudslinging.
Eventually the Catholics took control because we have more larpers I suppose and the board went downhill enforcing a very narrow reading of heresy that I'm pretty sure the Vatican would have strongly disagreed with
So in conclusion, being slow and small is not the worst thing and growing too fast can be a disadvantage. Let's just work on building a community that glorifies christ, that's first and foremost

I am about to be baptized, confirmed, and first communion in 6 days, and I look back at where I was in the winter of 2018-19, and I have changed a lot, it is night and day, really. I tried r/Catholicism (Yes I tried it, because /pol/ got us shutdown, and I simply cannot get myself to like it. Granted I have gotten some good tips, but I find it too casual really, and I do not like the upvote system, although I myself am guilty of it.
Just yesterday, I had gone to mass, after having had a hard nights sleep, and the thing is, even since i stopped being fascist, I am often tempted to think of draconian measures to worlds problems, but that mass, I truly anted for the first time in my life, to embrace peace. Also last night, I was petting my cat of 19 years. she had been getting weaker, and my mom had planned to call the vet. I made a prayer to God and St. Gertrude of Neville to have her die at home in peace. She was lying on the deck and I brought in, the last thing I remember was watching her drink some water from the bowl. The next thing, not even 5 minutes later, my dad was telling me to put my shoes, because she passed away. He said she simply laid down, took a few breaths, and passed on. i remember when I used to be afraid of dying and how every time one of our pets died, I would ball my eyes out crying. now, I am no longer afraid. I am at peace. I do not know what I did to deserve him calling me home when others have fallen away from. I feel…unworthy. It is like I was stuck in a pit in my own filth, and He lifted me up and covered me with love and mercy. I owe Him everything. Fear not, brothers, we will make it. We are His children, and there will be peace when we are done. : D
