Here’s one of my favorite (lack of a better term) apocrypha texts. Not because it’s true, but because it’s so clearly a lie and great for beginner’s training in how to catch lies in apocrypha texts.

It’s one of the best false books out there that can help a Christian train themselves on how to identify a fake Bible book among apocrypha books. It’s actually very easy to debunk, I wish uncovering all lies were so easy but this will give you an idea of how easy some are to throw out. It’s very short (42 verses) so it won’t take much for everyone to catch up on and begin discussions. I’m going to give this book the benefit of the doubt for mentioning a dragon, since dinosaurs are not mentioned in the Bible either but a dragon is in revelation (Although it was in a dream when it was mentioned the apostle John sure identified it as such). So we’ll hold that off for now. Unless you guys feel the need to talk about dragons, in that case go for it but remember I’m very paranoid about mainstream world history. I can loose myself in such conversations.

There are two major reasons why I call this book a lie, if you can call it a book, it’s a deleted text from the end of the book of Daniel. They had good reason to delete it.

>Reason #1: Daniels personality in this section is totally different than in the book of Daniel. In the book of Daniel the way Daniel talks to Kings is very respectful and wise, in fact, it’s impossible to even twist Daniel’s words and be offended from them. The way Daniel talks to Kings is a masterpiece of cunningness and respect. Not in this book. In this book he laughs at the King, twice, when the King is making a total ass of himself, also he answers the King without being spoken to at one point.

>Reason #2: Daniel is thrown into the lions den for a totally different reason than what the original book of Daniel says he was. This is the more obvious reason of the two.

In this whole book there are several reasons, you can poke all sorts of holes in it. But these two are enough to let everyone know how bad of a lie this all is. There is no way any Christian with a basic understanding of the book of Daniel in the Bible will read this and let it effect their view of the Bible or believe it. But it is very fun to poke holes in.

That is one nice looking Bible! Was that passed down through your family, or did you manage to come across it in an antique store?

The original owner was a JW. I don’t know how that old man came across it. It was given to my father as a gift. Then my father gave it to me when I asked for it. The original owner was a friend of the family, when I would visit them as a child I always wanted to touch it, but it was off limits. I don’t think they ever read it, it was always behind glass. Now it’s in my possession, funny how that works.

I distanced myself from those friends because of the fallout of what happened in my Kingdom Hall. They weren’t the main reason for it but threw their own stones later for selfish reasons. I had no idea it would contain information that would bring me back on my feet. The whole thing is quite amazing when I think about the details.

If you ever want a snapshot of a specific verse, let me know. I can also post whole books if need be. The references are very interesting as well. I don’t read it as often as I should, I would like to make as much of it available to people as I can. I think it’s time for it to not stay dormant anymore.
