Hello, lads. Recently watched Midsommar with the wife. It reminded me of when I came back to Christianity as a young adult. I was interested in the dark parts of this world, and was fascinated a bit by evil. The otherworldly and frightening things done by non-Christians turned me to God. I wanted to know more so I could ward myself against it and warn others, because so little is known amongst the common folks.

Anyway, this movie reminded me of Wicker Man, stories of druids murdering people and of the true origin of bobbing for apples, sacrificing people and children to "gods" for some blessing. The truly wicked things that are part of European paganism and other pagan religions that LARPers would wish to brush under the rug or simply lie to say it didn't exist.

Is there any sort of book or books that are trustworthy accounts and history of pagan evils written from a Christian persepctive? In this age of LARPagans pushing for a reawakening, especially on /pol/ and other "right-wing" outlets, I want to be able to be knowledgeable about the subject. Be they of any LARP sect: germanic, gaelic, slavic, etc. I want to know of their evils so I can shine light on them and rebuke them.

These are good, anon. Do you know of anything rebuking the germanic or gaelic/druid heathen? I see them as most prevalent, with slavic close behind. LARPers are less enthused with the Roman and Greek paganism since those have to be 'WE WUZ'ed into being Northwestern European or commonly "aryan".

It's probably worth mentioning that the full title of Augustine's book is On the City of God against the Pagans.

Because none of them have read it, you can quote the Prose Edda directly. In order to pretend that Germans have always played a part in the Western world, its author claims that Thor was the son of Memnon, one of the warrior-kings in the Iliad of Homer. His kingdom? Ethiopia. I need not say more.

It's literally just another jewish movie mocking a traditional european festivity where they get out in the sun to eat and drink with their extended family. Giving credence to it like you seem to be doing is reminiscent of american christian zionist views, entirely based on hollywood dysgenic ideals.

As for the dumb catch-all "pagans" you naturally have multiple sources depending on the group. Specifically for the norse you have Gesta Hammaburgensis ecclesiae pontificum by Adam of Bremen, a missionary and director of the cathedral school of Bremen who went to if not the spiritual home of norse paganism then at least the largest expression of it, the old Temple at Uppsala.

>>829347

It was less about the pretense to the greeks and moreso Snorre trying to explain away their "gods" as mangled grecian heroes to discredit them from what I recall of it.

>mocking european

The point is not about the movie. It's the fact that human sacrifice is not really portrayed at all as existing outside of fiction, as if it historically didn't happen, excluding Africa. LARPagans all like to act as if their "ancestral" religions were peaceful and normal rather than savage and bizarre, and little more than fallen angel worship. They like to omit such abomination when they attempt to proselytize.

from Deuteronomy 32

>When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.

>They stirred him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they provoked him to anger..

>They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

from Genesis 6

>There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

>And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

from Romans 1

>For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

>Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

>Professing to be wise, they became fools,

>And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

>So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies.

>They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.

>And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

>Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

You sound like you're one of the whitewashers that the OP singles out. I take it that you think the tool marked bones in Bronze Age Germanic graves, suggesting cannibalism, are either:

- False evidence planted by Jews to mock "European families," or

- winnie the pooh METAL

Either way, you would be a degenerate.

Let's throw in Exodus 34:13–14 while we're talking about paganry:

>You shall tear down their altars, break their pillars, and cut down their sacred poles (for you shall worship no other god, because the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God).

Read Luther's Jews and Their Lies recently. Pagans are virtuous compared to Jews:

>How much more honorably do the pagan philosophers, as well as the poets, write and teach not only about God's rule and about the life to come but also about temporal virtues. They teach that man by nature is obliged to serve his fellow man, to keep faith also with his enemies, and to be loyal and helpful especially in time of need. Thus Cicero and his kind teach. Indeed, I believe that three of Aesop's fables, half of Cato, and several comedies of Terence contain more wisdom and more instruction about good works than can be found in the books of all the Talmudists and rabbis and more than may ever occur to the hearts of all the Jews.

I don't think pagans deserve such a bad rep given

1) What Luther describes.

2) How similar their teachings are to Christianity, even down to Christ's sacrifice on the cross versus Odin's sacrifice on the tree.

3) The NT was orginally transcribed in Greek (so, paganism isn't innately opposed to Christ?).

4) Cutting me off from my heritage…what are you communist??
