The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When is violence acceptable from a Christian point of view?

If the Crusaders fought against Muslims who are pushing their faith by the sword on people who had to convert involuntary, and were justified in self-defense. How are we to treat atheist today, who force their beliefs (although peacefully) on involuntary children, and people who know little about Christian apologetics in academia? Is the result not the same at the end of the day, regardless of if there's violence involved? How should Christians properly respond to the 21st century rise of atheism and its influence on people?

tbh I think you shouldn't be talking about violence on a site monitored by the feds

>crusaders fought in self defense

That’s definitely true. A massive reason the 1st crusade started was because the Muslims were pushing in on the Byzantine empire, so it was acceptable there

>what do we do about atheists and then pushing their beliefs on kids

We, as a religion, need to somehow bring more attention to us, through good works, obviously. Creating a new charity for missionaries is an example.

>Christian apologetics in academia

That’s where we hit a roadblock. We can’t make an apologetics class in public school; non-Christians will never vote for that. If they don’t have that in Christian schools already, then they definitely should

Forget about atheists, what about muslimhood again encroaching on what has been secular Christian territory?

What about downright infidels and heretics defaming the name of the lord?

What about the rise of proper paganism, witchcraft and satanic rituals?

We do things to win, not because we're "technically allowed to"

Even if physical violence is allowed, will it benefit us against Atheists?

I don't know if Jesus' necessarily prevented violence in the defense of innocents at least…but we can be sure that "those who live by the sword, die by it". Can it be that it is simultaneously allowed in some cases, but still requires this cost in this life?

On a personal note, I feel like the only things I'm good for in this life are being a monk or a warrior. When I was younger, I used violence in the worst ways. I never fully got initiated in gangs, but ran with them. This was all obviously evil, and if it wasn't for the mercy of Christ, I'd be in hell right now.. but I was useful tbh. I wish it could have been applied to something better. Since I don't know the answer to this, I just retreat and live a solitary life. I feel useless to the world either way.
