It's a hero builder. Select an order from the list, and fill out the sheet. Go nuts. I'll update in even intervals of whenever the hell I feel like it. Rolls are done using d100s.

Everyone starts from the same place except Avengers, everyone starts off as a freshly ordained recruit. I'll have missions for you based off your order, specializations, and fluff. You can team up with other players if you want, go it solo, or just work with NPCs.

Fill this out

>Name:

>Order: (Pick one from the OP pic)

>Fluff: (How did you become a Paladin and why are you in the order you're in?)

>Specializations: (Pick three between Diplomacy, Stealth, Ranged Combat, Horse Riding, Swordsmanship, Sanctification, Smiting)

>Holy Powers: (All have Prayer which allows one to purge themselves of outside influences, need to spend time learning more or pick one as a specialization)

>Mundane Skills: (Taken as specializations, need to learn others over time from appropriate teachers)

>Color: (I'll have a map…eventually. Maybe)

>Name: Niennon Marthas

>Order: Redemption

>Fluff: Niennon Marthas was once a priest. He kept the monastery tidy, handled almsgiving, and maintained the garden. Hardly paladin material. And yet, the Order of Redemption must have seen something in him. Or they were terribly starved for members. Probably both. What they said really made him an important prospect was something the other Orders were sadly lacking - a great deal of compassion. He could see the good side in the most wicked of people, and with that he was perfect material for the Order of Redemption.

But he was not trained as a fighter, or a cleric. He was a… specialist. Some might call it a 'therapist.' He saw the good in everyone, and it was made his job to help them see the good in themselves.

Oh, I should also mention (kinda important) there is a war happening against a demonic horde/evil empire/Lich Consortium. It's an ongoing thing, some people may get sent to front lines for their missions.

>Name: Weldry Huffleden

>Order: Retribution

>Fluff: Born in the city of Donokil, Weldry used to be a soft individual. Born into a noble house, he was sheltered from the world. He was disliked by many, for despite his great skill with a sword and charming appearance, he was truly quite shy. Getting him to talk was an annoying process, and very few were willing to go about the necessary steps save for his mother, father, and siblings. Over the years his hidden greatness grew, and so to did his shyness. When he spoke his voice was considered lovely, his manners of the highest quality, and his appearance believed to be one of the most charming. He was a natural scholar, preferring to read instead of fight despite his skill. He beat the best duelist in his city, a woman with much blood on her blade from many battles, at the age of 18. This merely caused his popularity to grow, and his shy nature to be mistaken for deep humility. Eventually though, war came to his city. The demons tore down Donokil's walls, and a great slaughter took place. Of this massacre only Weldry survived, having managed to fight his way out of the city limits and narrowly avoiding death or capture. Weldry walked for many days, stunned by the horrors he had seen. It was not until he fainted, did a passing Avenger find him. She healed his wounds, and took him back to her home. There, upon learning he was the last survivor of Donokil and seeing the immense talent he possessed, she taught him in the arts of her order. He learned that through faith and power he could annihalate the darkness, and spare others such a horrible fate. With that he finally came to a realization, that had he tried hard enough he could have prevented what happened. He could have become a leader, a general, a savior, or whatever else his people needed, and yet he was held back by his own weakness. As he learned the truth of matters he pledged to never hold back ever again. He joined the paladin orders, and swears to fight for the good of others.

>Name: Hanne Von Pumhart

>Order: Truth

>Fluff: Hanne was never the largest boy on the practice fields, and although he was no slouch, his skill came mainly from being able to anticipate an opponent's actions and counter accordingly. Of course, this required that he had the strength to block an anticipated blow, which wasn't always the case. Because of this, he tended to prefer the company of monks and their books, a condition not helped by his delecate manner and unfortunate chest-padding. One martial skill he did find to his liking, however, was combat with the francisca, as it allowed him to use his talent for prediction to connect a whirling ax with a moving target, while safely out of reach of said target's sword-arm. Because of his piety and axmanship, he was recurited by the Truth order of Paladins as a researcher, analyst, and, on occasion, spy.

>Name: Richter Van Balmonte

>Order: Light

>Fluff:

The Van Belmonte clan are an order of ancient knights as old, if possibly not older, than the Church itself. Weidling their legendary family weapon, the Vampire Slayer, a powerful magical whip, they have had an eternal emnity against their arch nemesis, Drarvlada, the immortal Vampire King, and prince of Darkness, who rules from his immortal castle and always seeks to spread his dark will on the world.

Once a great and mighty family who could field armies, it's power has waned in recent years, and has become more reliant on the Church more than ever. Richter Van Balmonte is one of the last of his illustrious line, and though he wields the family whip, his true love is other weapons, particularly the latest crossbow which he loads up with blessed merconium bolts.

>TFW I CAN'T DELETE ALL THESE OLD POST

>Name: Johnathan Black

>Order: Avenger's

>Fluff: Justice recognizes no rank. It does not discriminate, be it a King, a Priest, or a beggar. So many paladins out there focus on the corruption outside, that they forget about the corruption on the inside.

For it is not the sickness of the skin that is so easily culled that kills a man, but the infection and gangrene deep within.

Even while they all fight, the King revels in debauchery, while Nobles and even Priests exploit and molest the common man, acting out their abusive and evil wills with impunity.

They must meet Justice. All of them.

Johnathan Black is an Apothecary, learned in the art of medicine and, occasionally, poison. A with a simple goal, he swears to fulfill the will of Justice in one word: Vengeance

He only barely escaped, he was found by a Retribution Paladin moving to quell the enemy horde. He was sent to a monastery, where he chose to train as a paladin. He took up the sword, so that he may go and find the darkness in it's lair to crush it, and scatter it's power before it harms the innocent and good. Personally Tyril is a young man of average height with brown hair and green eyes. He rarely speaks and the quality of his voice has suffered from it's disuse. What his voice lacks, his eyes compensate for, they are sharp and always searching, for patterns in an enemy's attacks, for holes in their defense, and for signs of the enemy no matter where it may be. Indeed his ability to find and identify weakness then exploit it with his blade or holy fervor has made Tyril one of the his monastery's most promising novitiates this generation.

Holy Powers: Sanctification, Heal, Prayer

Mundane Skills: Horse Riding, Diplomacy, Medicine

Your Mission: Walk among the war refugees in Ancilia. Search for sickness and signs of corruption, whether of the mind, the body, or God help them, the soul. If you can, find new recruits, fresh faces eager to have their anger tempered into a heated faith.

Bonuses: [Healer] When dealing with the sick and injured, gain a +20 to heal them. This bonus also applies when trying to sanctify a person and free them of demonic influence, though it takes time they may spend trying to kill you.

Flaws: [Pacifist] gain a -10 to any and all offensive combat actions, regardless of how big or small.

>>4015

Holy Powers: Prayer, Healing

Mundane Skills: Stealth, Swordsmanship, Ranged Combat

Your Mission: There are many refugees fleeing to Ancilia, burdening the city. Go and use your face to ease the strain on its resources, hunting and foraging as you can. If you meet other skilled hunters, try to turn them to the Cathedral.

Bonuses: [Ex-Mercenary] Been there, done that. Your experience as a merc lends some credence when you talk about how you found your faith, granting you a +10 to turning soldiers into paladin recruits. You also get a +10 to combat rolls, thanks to your prior experience.

>>4021

Holy Powers: Prayer, Aegis

Mundane Skills: Horse riding, Swordsmanship, Diplomacy

Your Mission: Basshoth is believed to be the next target for assault by the demons and undead hordes. Make all haste there with the other reinforcements, and prepare for the inevitable siege.

Bonuses: [Good Boy] Your optimism and naivete is inspiring. Others with you each gain a +10 morale bonus.

Flaws: [Innocent Soul] Your innocence and youth makes you a prime target for demons. Expect to pull lots of enemies in fights.

>>4032

Holy Powers: Prayer, Smiting, Aegis

Mundane Skills: Diplomacy, Swordsmanship

Your Mission: The defense of Merid made you a celebrity, and if you return there with symbols of the Faith adorning your armor, it is likely many will rally to defend the city, rather than abandon it for Ancilia. Do your best to ready things for the next siege.

Bonuses: [God's Arrow] Your breaking of the siege of Merid has made you something of a celebrity and morale booster. In addition to a +10 bonus to allies who fight with you, gain a +10 bonus to all combat rolls, and a +5 to diplomacy.

Flaws: [Rushed Training] Your ordaining as a Paladin was more a matter of politics. As such, when using your Holy powers, you suffer a -5 penalty.

>>4037

Holy Powers: Prayer, Smiting, Mask of Faith

Mundane Skills: Stealth, Swordsmanship

Mission: The currently contested cities are Merid and Basshoth, but our eyes beyond enemy lines are few and far between. Seek out the enemy, mark who is where, and what forces they have, so we can be properly prepared.

Bonuses: [Woodsman] The skills you learned hunting as a child have only been honed in your time with the Order of Truth. Gain a +15 bonus to stealth and combat when in a green area.

Flaws: [Minor Trauma] The events that led to you joining the Order of Truth have also scarred you, and you have declined having your memories magically altered to remove the event from your mind. Take -15 for all actions involving a large monster that is not fleeing, unless it is an ally.

Holy Powers: Prayer, Sanctification, Smite, Holy Judgement

Mundane Skills: Swordsmanship, Learned

Mission: The unholy hordes will soon be upon Basshoth. You and your battalion are to meet them in the field and hold them off as long as you can, giving Basshoth a chance to replenish its supplies and soldiers, and ferry out those who are otherwise just a strain on resources.

Bonuses: [Talented] You have shown a considerable talent in both scholarly pursuits and combat. Gain a +10 to combat and diplomacy.

Flaws: [Regret] You fled once before, and the shame of living while those you loved died haunts you. Suffer a -20 to all attempts to flee.

>>4045

Holy Powers: Prayer, Sanctification, Mask of Faith

Mundane Skills: Diplomacy, Ranged Combat

Your Mission: The Brogren Halls have, among other things, been a repository for many of the more dangerous artifacts that the Order of Truth has kept from the world. However, with the encroaching demon hordes, it has been decided that, rather than draw attention to the place, the artifacts would instead be ferried out in secret. You will be working with members of the Order of Light in this; they will be looking for traitors and spies, and you will be ensuring the artifacts don't…misbehave.

Bonuses: [Analyst] The ease with which you are able to examine and compartmentalize the world around you has made you an asset both in the field and in the lab. Gain a +10 when dealing with magical artifacts and +20 in combat against a type of enemy you have fought before.

Flaws: [Effeminate Features] Your facial features are very effeminate, and your figure doesn't help matters. Well, sometimes it doesn't. When dealing with people, expect a -10 to diplomacy…most of the time. And sometimes a +10, depending on the tastes of the individual. You won't know which, of course, the DM will decide this on the spot.

>>4050

Holy Powers: Prayer, Smite, Purge

Mundane Skills: Stealth, Ranged Combat, Medicine

Your Mission: Camedia believes itself able to hold its own against the demon hordes if they come for Ancilia, and the nobles are refusing to lend their support to the larger war effort. Go there, and replace the resistant Lords and Ladies with more…agreeable persons.

Bonuses: [Black Apothecary] While most have learned medicine and how to apply it, you are just as familiar poisons, and how to hide them. Gain a +10 bonus to both making poisons and using them stealthily.

Flaws: [Avenger] While most Paladins are revered wherever they go, your willful disobedience to some of the more restrictive tenants of the various orders has marked you and those like you with a stigma. Gain a -15 to diplomacy, and expect people to become hostile easily towards you.

>>4051

Holy Powers: Prayer, Smiting, Holy Judgement

Mundane Skills: Ranged Combat, Swordsmanship

Mission: The unholy hordes will soon be upon Basshoth. You and your battalion are to meet them in the field and hold them off as long as you can, giving Basshoth a chance to replenish its supplies and soldiers, and ferry out those who are otherwise just a strain on resources.

Bonuses: [Prodigious] Your faith and talent has made you an ideal Paladin, the very model of what a fresh recruit should be. Gain a +10 bonus to combat and holy powers you use, as well as a +5 to diplomacy.

Flaws: [Greenhorn] Your lack of experience makes those with more battles under their belt take you less seriously. Until you finish your mission, suffer a -20 to diplomacy when dealing with veterans.

>>4057

Holy Powers: Prayer, Smite, Holy Judgement

Mundane Skills: Swordsmanship, Horse Riding

Your Mission: There are still demons in and around the fields of Merid, even after Sir Bastion broke the siege and drove them back. Getting supplies into the city is difficult. Your team is being dispatched to clean up the mess the horde left behind.

Bonuses: [Cold Passion] Though you witnessed great horrors in your youth, through therapy and faith you have managed to channel it into what is in your line of work called 'A healthy work ethic.' Gain a +20 to combat rolls, and less likely to be influenced by mind-affecting spells.

Flaws: [Creepy Quiet] Your lack of sociability shows, estranging all but those closest to you. Suffer a -10 to diplomacy.

1-2. Tal would head towards Ancilia. Though the city was still rather far from the frontline the mercenary did have a number of plans for the refugees. There was simply too many of them to use all of them as hunters, the local wildlife would hardly be able to support the influx. Farmers would certainly be a great benefit to stock up on supplies in Ancilia, then again it was unlikely that as much farming lands were openly available. The larger amount of people who were unable to take up a hunter's trade or become farmers would have to be trained in combat, perhaps Tal would even be able to establish another base of the Order of the Shield, though the Order's current presence in the city remained to be seen.

>Hanne was never the largest boy on the practice fields, and although he was no slouch, his skill came mainly from being able to anticipate an opponent's actions and counter accordingly.

Your Mission:

>The Brogren Halls have, among other things, been a repository for many of the more dangerous artifacts that the Order of Truth has kept from the world. However, with the encroaching demon hordes, it has been decided that, rather than draw attention to the place, the artifacts would instead be ferried out in secret. You will be working with members of the Order of Light in this; they will be looking for traitors and spies, and you will be ensuring the artifacts don't…misbehave.

Bonuses:

>[Analyst] The ease with which you are able to examine and compartmentalize the world around you has made you an asset both in the field and in the lab. Gain a +10 when dealing with magical artifacts and +20 in combat against a type of enemy you have fought before.

Flaws:

>[Effeminate Features] Your facial features are very effeminate, and your figure doesn't help matters. Well, sometimes it doesn't. When dealing with people, expect a -10 to diplomacy…most of the time. And sometimes a +10, depending on the tastes of the individual. You won't know which, of course, the DM will decide this on the spot.

1. The first thing to do will be to establish a more secure guard around the Halls, including checkpoints at entrances and exits, patrols, both regular and irregular, and a buddy system to make sure no guard gets blindsided by a potential interloper. Work with the more martially-minded members of our orders to establish a security system.

2. Second, the items will need to be recorded and cataloged, to ensure they all make it to their destination. Begin making a record of each artifact, including official and unofficial names, physical characteristics, nonphysical characteristics, and a serial number.

>Your Mission: Walk among the war refugees in Ancilia. Search for sickness and signs of corruption, whether of the mind, the body, or God help them, the soul. If you can, find new recruits, fresh faces eager to have their anger tempered into a heated faith.

>Color: Dark Yellow

>Bonuses: [Healer] When dealing with the sick and injured, gain a +20 to heal them. This bonus also applies when trying to sanctify a person and free them of demonic influence, though it takes time they may spend trying to kill you.

>Flaws: [Pacifist] gain a -10 to any and all offensive combat actions, regardless of how big or small.

1 - Ancilia? A fair distance away. But the journey shall be made more tolerable through love of the land and of the Divine. And of course, it shall be made more brief by faithful Eponis.

>+Horse Riding

2 - Keep a watch for vagrants, sinners, or the corrupt along the road. Wayward wanderers can oft travel from holiness as much as home. I shall simply have to be their guide back to righteousness.

>Name: Vallis

>Order: Justice

>Fluff: Vallis was the soldier of a tyrant once. He was dragged in through the draft. Refusal was to have your family hanged and yourself tortured to death. He made his way to status as a captain before the paladins of the order of justice defeated him in combat, slaying the tyrant in the same battle. He, and all surviving soldiers, were told of all the crimes of the tyrant and offered a choice: to go home to our families, or to join the fight against more tyrants and warlords. Vallis chose to fight, and after catching the eye of one of the paladins, allowed to join the order. To this day he offers the same choice.

1. Aquire a cloak and some disguise clothing, such in a position as I requires a low profile. Quite different from the shining paladins in armor eslewhere.

2. Start my journey toward Camedia. If possible, exercise agility and dexterity. I will certainly need it.

>Name: Varius Damianos

>Order: Avengers

>Fluff: Varius was born a peasant, levied into a minor, local war, and almost killed a hundred times as the knights clashed blades over his head in ditches, where he laid covered in blood and trying desperately to get back into the fight. He survived by force of will and rapidly-acquired skill, his veterancy earning him a sergeant's rank in the dragged-out warfare. A passing Paladin of Life healing injuried in the war took notice of him rousing his men to greatness, and observed his valorous attacks and strategy in battle. Shortly thereafter, the man was recruited as a Paladin, one of the Retribution order in name - but, from certain elements in his training, he felt more at home with the Avengers. Varius is a soldier at heart, not a noble, and any way to end a war faster is a good way in his mind. He's far from an old man in his late twenties at best, but he's seen enough death to last ten old men.
