My school was mildly strict about uniform, some teachers would let you get away with dressing slovenly, other teachers wouldn't stand for it. Top button we could hide behind the tie so that was never a problem unless you were one of those chav girls or a legit retard, tucking your shirt in was something we only did when called out by a teacher, but would undo when they weren't looking. Everyone had to wear plain black shoes though, only exception being for PE.

This does not surprise me. Since starting my current job in tech support, the people around me are all incredibly stressed, despite still being essentially on minimum wage. It's mostly due to the nature of the work, since we support the health industry.

Since going from retail to this I've also got far less time to myself, and I'm even more unlikely to get out and do exercise etc, and I am even less inclined to cook when coming home, since despite doing less physical work, I end up feeling more tired.

Pale Moon is, by it's very nature, a legacy browser. There was also a bit of drama between it's creator and hotwheels in 2015, because the browser didn't display 8chan correctly (the "favourite boards on the top bar" features didn't work properly, as well as a couple of other issues). They claimed it was the websites fault for being coded poorly, and hotwheels claimed it was the browsers fault, because it worked on literally every other modern browser, and there was a bit of a back and forth and some drama on 8chan and their own forums. It doesn't visibly shit itself for me, but the RAM usage just keeps piling up and up over time, so when I notice it's at like 3 GB or something like right now I just close it and reopen it. I use a session manager that reloads all the tabs I had open, so it's not too annoying. They've made it less apparent now by splitting tabs into individual processes, but if you add up the totals it's still just as bad as it ever was. I remember when I used to be shocked that a web browser was using 300 MB of RAM.

I've been thinking lads, I have it quite easy.

I have two older brothers, one is a uni dropout hippy and the other is a former homeless drug addict. This means that there is not a high bar for what my parents consider successful.

They're both 10+ years older than me too, so I get all the benefits of being a younger sibling.

I guess its why they never want me to move out, everything started going downhill from my brothers when they moved out.

Interesting, that's very different to my situation, but the end result is very similar.

I'm the eldest child (and grandchild), but my mum doesn't really want me to move out due to her insecurities. Nobody in my family has the time nor energy to focus on me, so I'm just left alone to sit here in my bedroom most of the time. Occasionally one of my (divorced) parents will say to me "oh yeah we totally need to get you out there doing something, start moving forwards, get the ball rolling, etc etc", but then nothing happens because they're always occupied with something, especially since my nieces were born, and before you know it half a decade has passed.

That's not to say I expect or demand that they do anything for me, I'm grateful I'm allowed to live here at all, but I do wish they'd made more of an effort when I was younger. I feel like they neglected me in a way that wasn't apparent at the time, but looking back, they really didn't give a shit about my personal development or independence, and it's almost as if they went out of their way to make me as redundant and useless as possible.

I think its mostly because while they have good intentions, they aren't good parents. These days they don't really bother me much, I think they're just happy I have a stable job, however even with that I can't really function with normal people because of all of this.

I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and while they don't want me moving out, I can't imagine myself moving out at this point either. I stay here for free and they buy me food, any attempt to move out would put me in a worse situation.

Over the past couple of years I've pulled myself out of the rock-bottom situation I was in, and yet this is still the part I can't escape. I'm doing okay but that's only because I'm still at home and somewhat provided for. Given how expensive it is around here, if I were to move out on my own it would be a constant miserable struggle. The alternative is moving far away and being completely alone.
