Hi guys. I did Mephedrone for the fourth time today with a cumulative dosage of around 600mg (somehow…) over around 6 hours from 2am to 8am this morning. I am still confused as to how I finished the gram off since I only remember taking a 100mg bomb and a couple of lines. This morning, at around 8am, maybe earlier, I started to notice my knees turning slightly purple. I had read about that teenager who overdosed and went blue in the face. Naturally, I start worrying a lot. It became worse and worse until my knees were completely blue and my feet were going really pale. It also happened to my arms, quite severely. I started getting confused and tired. I had developed two red rashes one on my shoulder and one on my thigh. I remember watching the blue spread across my arms until i was covering the majority of the "outsides" of my arms. I kept breathing really deeply to try and slow my heart down and get more oxygen to my body. My hands were really blotchy with red and purple. My limbs had lost temperature and were pretty numb and as I looked in the mirror my ears my pale and slightly tinted blue along with my face. I looked closely and my lips were becoming blue as well. I tried to get the energy to phone an ambulance at this point as I thought that was the end of me. However, Very VERY luckily the side effects peaked and started to subside. I lay in bed breathing deeply for around 2 more hours until my limbs were nearly the correct color. Even now, 12 hours since the first dose (and the majority) and 6 since the final dose of around 50mg, my limbs do not feel right, especially my knees. If I cross my legs now my knees start going blue.
This is the scariest experience I have ever had with drugs and it has put me off Research Chemicals for life that's for sure. I am confused as to why the problems started when the effects had pretty much gone, around the time I started coming down.
I have taken equivalent doses before and had no side effects what so ever. Does anyone know WHAT THE HELL happened to me? I'm scared that I have caused permanent damage to my cardiovascular system. I also still have poor motor skills and very slow cognition which hasn't changed since I was high.
I am left now with tachycardia, unwanted stimulation, anxiousness, depression, confusion, forgetfulness, half dead limbs, apathy and confirmation (for me at least) that Mephedrone is not worth the risk and it has serious toxic effects on the body.

started taking mephedrone about 20 months ago just once a week when clubbing at the weekends consuming around 500mg in a night which after a couple of months turned into 1g through a night, about twice a week. He bought 100g before the ban and this is when it all went downhill for SWIM. To keep this thread easy to read I'll spare the long details but basically he ended up consuming around 8-10 grams a week coming up to his last month of usage which lead to him being rushed to hospital on two separate occasions as he ended up having some kind of respiratory attack and couldn't breathe which nearly ended his life, yes TWICE, I was definitely addicted to this shit. it was a very dark period in his life. in total he must of consumed around 70-80 grams in his life (this could be more or less he really didn't keep count)
Anyway it's been just over a year since SWIM nearly died (which after second time he sold the rest of the mephedrone and quit completely to save his life) and he's worried about two things mainly
1) he still gets purple and discoloured knees, knuckles, hands and feet the same as when he was using the drug, although it is not as bad as when he was using. its most prominent when his cold, or when he's performing exercise. even if he's been playing sport and is boiling hot and sweating buckets his knees and knuckles turn dark blue/purple and remain freezing cold. also his face turns really red when he's hot, like too red, mostly on his forehead and upper cheeks (cheekbone area)
2) he's pretty sure he's done some kind of nerve damage as very slow movements of his fingers, hands and feet and even slightly in his legs results in them shaking a twitching. also he noticed recently as the days are now becoming brighter as we move into summer, if he squints because of the bright sun it also causes the muscles in his face to twitch and shake. he also gets the odd twitch in his legs every now and then mostly when he's going to sleep at night. he also gets slight twitches/spasms in his forearms.this is seriously worrying SWIM.
He's seen his GP about the discoloured skin and has been referred to the hospital and is now awaiting for a letter to confirm his appointment date. He told his GP about the twitching and he did say this seems like some kind of nerve damage but didn't really say any more about it :/

It’s been nearly 8 years and I feel absolutely terrible, literally. All of the symptoms from the OP have progressed year by year. I stopped drugs for a good year or so and had a brain MRI scan in 2014 that came back fine… apparently. I told the doctors exactly how I felt and everything I had taken and yet all I got after my MRI was a letter to say they see no problem and that these are just symptoms from the drugs.
My knees have stopped going purple although my knuckles still do in the cold. I have terrible visual snow (look up on YouTube) that has progressed ever so slowly whether during periods sobriety or drug & alcohol consumption. My head feels tingly most of the time with my torso/belly and hands feeling tingly, like pins and needles also.
I felt much better at one point a few years ago, in early 2014 and convinced myself its wasn’t getting any worse and ended up slipping down a slippery slope which one line of coke here and there ended up in me taking drugs on a regular basis again. Mostly coke at weekends (plus binge drinking alcohol) but not not much, maybe half a g to a gram every week or so, but also ecstasy as me and my mates are made on techno and going to raves. And I’ve also been smoking quite consistently the last couple of years.
I have never touched RCs ever since and never will yet I had a massive bender one weekend around 2014 on pills and coke at a festival and was so crippled by the comedown, psychically and mentally I thought that was it. I couldn’t even get up and walk 20m without my head incredibly heavy and burning and disorientated and thinking I was going to collapse.
My head felt like it was being crushed and my brain being burned, like a strong lactic acid burn with no relief, it moves down my back and into my belly as well, this was very worrying, I actually couldn't get out of bed for more than about an hour a time for a whole month and slept for over 20 hours a day (Iwas unemployed at this time, and would have definitely ended up that way if I had a job anyway). After a couple of months I eventually recovered (still not 100%) and it was during this time I went to the doctors for the MRI.
I quit everything again for a good year, with symptoms of trembling fingers and hands, visual snow, and tingly and heavy tired head still persisting and getting gradually worse.
I am so stupid and feel so ashamed. As I could still ‘function’ I have been living in complete denial at the fact I have probably fucked myself up permanently. What will my family think if I get bad news and it’s all because I’ve been a fucking moron ignoring all the signs to stop yet carrying on!?

I have still been smoking (on and off) which makes things temporarily worse, and taking cocaine Most weekends whilst bing drinking. Still convincing convincing myself I’m getting better when the fact is it’s now all got too bad to ignore and I am having to seek help. There are so many details that are too much to go into.
The most worrying thing is my vision, just search for videos on YouTube of Visual Snow, I am worried if it continues to get worse year by year I am not going to be able to see properly as the static and blurriness is starting to obstruct my sight.
I also feel slightly off balance all of the time and walking doesn’t feel so automatic anymore, there is conscious effort into walking, with the occasional bumping into door frames and furniture.
My entire body right through feels like it is tingling sometimes, almost all of the time, it never completely goes away, I have forgotten what it must be like to not feel like this. The symptoms are at their least first thing after a good night sleep and get worse after about an hour of being awake and get progressively worse throughout the day.
Mu muscles shake/tremble when lifting heavy objects (even now when just leaning over, elbows on knees texting) and that include my legs when walking up and down stairs. To anyone looking they probably wouldn’t notice but I can feel it.
I think I’ve also developed ADD as I finds I have to make conscious effort to concentrate on conversations, to not snap out in a mini day dream for a few seconds then forgets what someone just said.
I place things around the house without realizing it and is continually losing and misplacing things. I have a very stressful job, one that I recently got sacked from for under-performing and I can tell you it’s because I find it so strenuous having to plan and process things ahead without getting distracted and forgetting what I was doing or just done.
