Czy Jarosław Kaczyński rozwiązywał Wojskowe Służby Informacyjne aby ukryć przed Polakami współpracę swojej matki z tą instytucją?
Gdy latem 2006 roku do siedziby Wojskowych Służb Informacyjnych wpadła komisja weryfikacyjna kierowana przez Antoniego Macierewicza, rozpoczęło się poszukiwanie teczek "agentów" czyli współpracowników WSI. Opinii publicznej tłumaczono, że chodzi o ujawnienie patologii w służbach, przerwanie nieformalnych powiązań i "parasola ochronnego" roztaczanego nad kapusiami przez zdemoralizowane WSI. Była to prawda ale nie cała. Agentów szybko podzielono na "swoich" (czyli tych, których nie wolno ujawniać, bo są z "naszego" czyli PiS-owskiego obozu) i "wrogów" czyi reprezentujących przeciwne środowiska polityczne. Swoich (choćby kilku dziennikarzy "Gazety Polskiej") nie ujawniono za to "wrogów" poddano selekcji. Pierwszych "przewerbowano" czyli pozyskano dla polityki PiS. Dawni agenci, wśród nich przedsiębiorcy, dziennikarze, naukowcy, bojąc się ujawnienia ich wstydliwych epizodów w życiorysie, "przechrzcili" się nagle na gorących zwolenników IV RP. Pozostałych, w większości bez znaczenia, ujawniono w słynnym raporcie z lutego 2007.
Ujawnienie agentów WSI nie służyło więc żadnej likwidacji żadnej patologii a tylko zmianie "oficerów prowadzących" - osoby uwikłane w różne, patologiczne układy, wcześniej wykorzystywane przez WSI, teraz miały być wykorzystywane przez PiS i dla PiS. Część niewygodnych dla PiS materiałów, m.in., dokumenty wiążące Porozumienie Centrum (pierwsza partia braci Kaczyńskich) z FOZZ zniszczono.
Od pierwszego dnia, Komisja Weryfikacyjna WSI z największą intensywnością szukała jednej teczki - była to teczka Tajnego Współpracownika o pseudonimie "Balbina". Taki pseudonim nosiła Jadwiga Kaczyńska - matka Lecha i Jarosława, lansowana przez nich na ikonę ruchu antykomunistycznego.
Z teczki TW "Balbina" wynikało, że niejawną współpracę z wojskowymi służbami PRL rozpoczęła jeszcze w latach 50 XX wieku. Była przez nich wykorzystywana jako źródło informacji na temat osób tworzących zalążki opozycji demokratycznej tzn. na temat kręgu intelektualistów gromadzących się wokół Jana Józefa Lipskiego i w Klubach Inteligencji Katolickiej. Bezpieka PRL obawiała się, że te środowiska gromadzą osoby niechętne komunistycznemu reżimowi (tak też było) stąd inwigilowała je z całą determinacją. W inwigilacji tej pomogło właśnie źródło informacji o pseudonimie "Balbina" - informacje przekazywane przez Jadwigę Kaczyńską pozwalały wojskowej bezpiece PRL szybko poznać nazwiska osób sympatyzujących z KIK i wyrażających brak entuzjazmu dla władz PRL. Tę postawę służby PRL nagrodziły: Jadwiga Kaczyńska mogła mieszkać sobie nie niepokojona przez nikogo na warszawskim Żoliborzu, w czasie gdy komunistyczne władze dyskryminowały osoby niepoprawnie myślące, utrudniając im dostęp do mieszkań.
