Jest takie zjawisko i było szeroko opisywane, czyli mentalność niewolnicza. Ludzie niższego szczebla/klasy, bardzo często są gotowi zrezygnować ze swojej wolności, dobra itd na rzecz kogoś wyżej postawionego. Godząc się ze swoim miejscem w hierarchii i robią to czerpiąc z tego przyjemność. Dotyczy to także całych narodów, które przez wieki były podporządkowane innej nacji. Inaczej nie potrafią.
