Pantera wśród nie-fanbojów Wehrmachtu ma dość niejednoznaczną opinię. Z jednej strony świetny czołg, z drugiej był po prostu zbyt duży do swojej roli i wykorzystywany w zły operacyjnie (jako czołg średni) sposób. Taktycznie to królowa pola walki, ale problem w tym, że taktyka to najmniejsza z cegiełek prowadzenia wojny.

szkoda ze czolgi na dzisiejszym polu bitwy sa prawie ze bezuzyteczne. Sa powolne, nie maja technologii stealth wiec latwo je wykryc i mozna je zniszczyc 10 raz tanszymi srodkami niz ich koszt budowy(patrz: nowoczesne systemy rakietowe dla piechoty).
