It used to be this site talked about actually playing games instead of gaming industry gaffes. I understand, gaming feels dead, that's why I'm going to risk posting this for people lurking in the background who remembers how much fun it was to grind/build in games.
If you enjoyed building games / survival esque games like Kenshi, Terraria, Minecraft or the building/settlement system in F0-4 this alpha game is worth a pirate. (It's worth a buy but I don't buy alpha games).
ME- starts you off as a medieval refugee, in a sandbox world that would in a way remind you of something like Skyrim/Fallout but in a medieval non-magic setting.
Your task is to build you own settlement, which you can do anywhere on the map, (kind of like FO4 but unrestricted), you need to hunt/farm/forage for food, recruit peasants to work your fields, gather resources, and manage their jobs/living assignments. You can get married yourself, have kids, you can put two peasants (m/f) in the same house and they may spit out a kid too.
I'll be honest, I've had trouble playing anything for more than an hour or two for a couple of years, but this game scratched an itch that has me waking up early and going to bed late for a couple of weeks.
Even though the game is in alpha, I've sunk about 50 hours after work into it in just over a week or so also dropped everything I was playing casually to play.
