There is nth to enjoy anymore. Even console titles lack any excitement for me. Last time I felt happy about playing a game was some pirated old console game I got for a few coins, self-burnt on disc and fake case and all. Why? bc I never had played that game, didn't matter to me what form it came in.

Today? A new game feels like artifical insemination, cloned bastard spawns. Unnatural. Eternal September…

All games markets (PC, Arcade, Console) with 3D. Low poly was doable, but when photo realistic 3D models and environments started to be in demand by the consumers it because too expensive to make games. Check out how developers were numbered in hundreds then went down to tens in the PS3/Xbox360 era.

When it because too expensive companies made less and took fewer risks. No one will make an interesting game anymore but indie devs like Platinum and Eidos Montreal. They make short intersting games. If you want an adult game like sims they are still being made because Euros buy them up and they were never made for the mass market like 3D real games.

Digital games were supposed to be cheaper. Remember back in the 90s when Gamepro magazine gave us this diagram about how going digital would cut prices by saving money on shipping , handling and save gas. On top of that, it would save the environment because they wouldn't be mass producing anything and everyone would save money? Turns out, none of that shit was true. There's manufacturing companies that will NEVER run out[ of ready to print to discs and sleeves. It's already been made and ready to ship.

They're just jewing you into accepting that you don't own shit anymore.

The term "Indie" slowly became impregnated by professional companies that used the term to trick consumers and evade taxes by outsourcing and intentionally keeping themselves below 500 employees. Gone are they days of a hobbyist trying to break into gaming with hardwork and dedication. It's assetflippers trying to do the least as possible in order to get just enough attention to get signed by an adfarm to make real dosh. Gone are the folks who actually had passion, replaced with losers trying to infuse gaming with their boring political bullshit. Real people don't give a fuck about right or left, they just want a fucking game like back in the day.

The term "Quality" became subjective. People started patronizing companies that couldn't release a stable game if their families lives were at stake. Look at Bethseda. The last stable at launch game they produced was motherfucking Home Alone and that's LAUNCH stability. Not actually playing it stable. Games are so fucking buggy and broken at launch that a year later, it's not even the same fucking game anymore. Remember when games spent a long time in development? Not anymore. Companies are shitting out games so fast they're reusing assets in multiple franchises and praying that the audience does not overlap. I'm not going to rant about shitty companies like Idea Factory and Atlus at the moment.

Marketing & Complacency. I'm going to keep this short because there's nothing left to be said anymore. People became horrifically complacent. The complacent gamer won't care that they're interests are being phased out. They'll just keep consuming and consuming.

The non-complacent gamer will be taunted and insulting for daring to remember when the games were quality. "How dare you remember the 2009 release that didn't have bugs or 200 dollars worth of DLC?! Now when you pick up a game, everything is ultra inclusive. Gaming was inclusive since the start faggots - but it wasn't "Their" inclusive. The freaks that were never accepted anywhere because they're below the lowest of the low, somehow managed to get into positions of power. These losers who even the geeks and dorks bullied before going to the arcade are now running the show. And the icing on the cake? Pushing back against them is silly because it deflects wildly.
