So it's Chain of Memories 2? I don't mind that, CoM was a cool game, though highly flawed

CoM was fun, but it absolutely felt like a sidegame. It was very repetitive and didn't have any of the interesting side actives or changes from level to level besides that one Winnie the Pooh world. It's basically the same thing for a dozen hours.

After The World Ends With You (which a very similar game by the same team a few years later) I think they really understand the core gameplay better and could probably implement it into a true, more fleshed out KH game.

Absolutely yes. Play 2FM on critical. It’s one of the best ARPG’s out there. The Roxas part is a little rough because of how basic his move set is and how most things will one shot him, but once you get to Sora it really opens up.

People meme on KH for being pure autism, but the games are great. If you don't care about the story you should at least play Kingdom Hearts 2, Dream Drop Distance and Birth By Sleep.

BBS is usually considered to be the best game in the series by hardcore fans.

Do you care about the plot? If no, then go play KH2 right now and thank us later, after you beat it on critical mode I suggest playing KH3 if you can- not as good as KH2 but its plenty fun.

Okay then, here we go; little guide for those getting in to KH for anyone who wants in:

Start here, come for a solid action rpg and stick around for a decent plot and great boss fights, you can stop here too if ya please since the game ends on a satisfying if open note, but if you wanna keep going

Did you like KH1's combat? Well forget about that, you're playing a hack and slash card game now son, don't feel too bad if you can't get in to it I never could but you can cheese your way to victory just fine if you know what you're doing. Plot is confusing at first but makes sense after all is said and done, and you need to know what happens here in order for KH2 to make sense. Speaking of which

Cream of the fucking crop, widely agreed to be the best game in the series when it comes to combat. Plot wise, some say it was either here or back in CoM where things went insane but I don't think it was so bad. After all is said and done this is probably the best place to stop, the whole plot feels finished none of the other games will match its combat. But if you want to see more…

>KH 358/2 Days

The game was held back by being on the DS, camera fights you more than the enemies, has two of the worst boss fights in the series. The game is carried by its cast; you're either going to love em or hate em and that is going to decide how much you like the game. You can either emulate it or watch the "movie" of it, but said "movie" misses a lot of memorable moments from the game. As for the overall plot, this game is a prequel to 2 and is pretty self contained for it: no cliff ending here and you can carry on without playing any of the other games besides the ones you already played. The camera isn't fucking you here, but stagger will. Game is split between three characters who all play differently and have different stories that lead to a big climax, game's a bit grindy when it comes to abilities and it features what is widely regarded as the most bullshit fucking bonus boss in the entire goddamn series. Both the game and plot are carried by its character, the whole series is really, and is where things start getting fucky plot wise; you'll see what I mean.

Gameplay wise its a good mix of Days and BBS, plot wise you can skip it without issue, some would even recommend it, but make sure to watch the "movie" of it from the HD release, since it does conatin a cutscene of some importance and sets up what's coming next.

Fuck this game. This game almost killed KH for me, I hate its gameplay, I hate its boss fights, I hate its plot, and I will never not be mad that it got a HD remake instead of Days. I would love to say skip it, but its important so I say just watch the cutscenes on jewtube, or play it if you want to hurt yourself. I honestly cannot think of anything positive to say about the game; I see it as a compilation of all the worst bits of KH in one game and its where the plot officially jumps off the rails

"Who the fuck names their games like this?" I don't get the nips either, gameplay wise the game is something of a preview for KH3 and plot wise it lets us see how Aqua's been doing since the end of BBS: very badly. Can be beaten in about 2 hours, has some real eye candy, and a fun bonus boss; definitely worth a playthrough.

If I told you that some very important lore to the entire series was buried within a gacha game you're first thought will probably be "please tell me I don't have to play that shit" and the answer is no, you won't. You can watch of compilations of the plot on jewtube, they're put together in a more comprehensible package then what the game does too. After you're caught up you can watch the Black Cover movie, don't watch it before you get caught up or it won't make sense.

Its finally here, but its not what a lot of people hoped it was gonna be; still not as good as KH2 and the plot was fairly disappointing. But, ignore the naysayers who dismiss it out of hand, the game itself is still a lot of fun and plays differently enough from KH 1 and 2 to stand on its own and critical mode improved the game a lot. The end of credits cutscene will make you look up vids of a certain character, wondering if Nomura really is just making things up as he goes or is playing 6d chess. The DLC really isn't worth the price tag, but it is a lot of fun and helps to patch up the plot a bit, has a secret boss to match that of even KH2's, and the secret ending will mind fuck you more than anything else in the series

Just a heads up if you play BBS Critical after 2. BBS actually plays nothing like 2 so try and escape that mind set. If KH2 is something like Ninja Gaiden or DMC3, BBS is like a faster Sekiro. If you try button mashing on bosses even when you think it’s safe you will get fucked.

I liked the atmosphere the end of BBS and 0.2 were able to capture, as well as that feeling of isolation and hopelessness as Aqua went deeper. It really shows how shitty and scary the realm of Darkness can be.

It was always meant to be a product. The reason why the first couple of games were made with more care was to hook in consumers/consumerists. Once a company makes you dependent on their products, they don't have to keep quality anymore.

Quality products are nothing more than commercials. They serve the purpose of luring people so the company can release soulless sequels over and over again.

Is the design of that tanned character in the forefront, normal? The head really doesn't match the body at all. It looks photoshopped.

The mismatch between head and body reminds me of the cover of Ratchet: Gladiator or those pictures of Julia Vins (inb4 the thread derails into another muscle-girl pic dump).

Kind of.

1 and 2 do, but once you start getting to the later games the main trio start having inconclusive storylines for sequel bait. KH3 ends all the other characters stories well enough, but it definitely leaves everything off on a cliffhanger to be solved in KH4 or Verum Rex.

Trailer dropped… so it looks like a ps2 game which is disappointing, but it’s going to be on next gen consoles, not a phone game. There’s also some weird tie in to what’s going on with Kairi at the end of the KH3 DLC and it looks like we’ll get a reveal on who the MoM is. As a big KH fan, it kinda looks like shit, but oh well.
