Just finished Tales of Berseria. It was pretty damn good, are other Tales games of the same quality?

Vesperia and Symphonia are both better than Berseria. A lot of people like Abyss, and it's good quality, but I had to quit a little over half-way through because I just couldn't stand Luke's shit anymore.
Don't bother with Zesteria.

That's funny because that's exactly around the time when Luke becomes bearable. Truth be told, I didn't even mind him the first time I played it.

That's the point of Luke's character arc because at about half way through he finds out that he's the clone, which completely shatters him, so much so that he has to leave old Luke behind and rebuild himself. Also, Tear a cute.

Also, I hear Tales of Destiny II to be a great Tales game, but unfortunately it was never translated into english and the patch is stuck in 2 translators already gave up on it hell.

I used to love the Tales series as a teenager but now in my mid-20's I just don't care for them anymore. All of my attempts to replay my old favorites have ended in failure. I got about half-way through Tales of the Abyss before dropping it. I tried to play Tales of Vesperia on the 360 when it came out but got bored and dropped it literally in the final level of the game.
I bought the re-release for PS4 and dropped it right around the time I got Judith.
Why don't I have the patience to stick with these games anymore? I want to like them, I swear.

Invest in another hobby for awhile anon I myself have picked up billiards, decided to try and get good at it. As for Tales games, I've only played Xillia but would appreciate recommendations

Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Vesperia are all great games that you should play if you have an interest in the Tales series. Unfortunately I haven't played any of the new titles in the series after Vesperia, most likely due to my aforementioned waning interest in JRPGs as a whole.

Edna is cute directly during her arc and in a few of the Vignettes, but she quickly ends up taking a back seat to the other characters and her writing quality dropped off a cliff. Eventually I ended up just getting annoyed with her. That's how fucking bad Zesteria is.

Instead of playing another Tales game, I'm thinking of playing Ys VIII. How does that game hold up compared to Tales games in terms of Story, Characters and gameplay?
